Barring injury, John Wall has more or less already surpassed the output from the Washington Wizards’ last number one draft choice. Wall’s eye-popping athleticism erases any memories of Kwame Brown, even as their biggest star of the last decade seems to be acting out for attention as usual. And just as he’s the bright spot in a hectic mess in the Capital, John Wall is emerging as Reebok’s brightest basketball star. Without Yao and Iverson to count on, RBK is looking to parlay Wall’s rising star into a bit of the kind of buzz you might expect from the guy who drafted Kwame.
With the Reebok ZigTech Slash ‘Gold Rush’, the Vector brand is going even further than the hardest-to-get Air Jordan Flight Club or Quickstrike releases by limiting these joints to a mere 12 pairs! You’ll have to follow Wall’s Twitter feed to find out when and where they’ll be for sale, but we know for sure that the Wizards’ 1 will rock these golden Zig Slashes when the Wiz open their season against the Knickerbockers at MSG on November 5th. via Dime

Sole Collector has done a bunch of collaborations with Nike and other brands, but nearly all of them are for friends and family only. Not the case with the Sole Collector x Jordan CMFT 11 SC. These joints take the Air Jordan XI’s carbon fiber springplate and extends the ultralight, super strong material onto the upper of what has to be the dopest CMFT mashup yet. And best of all, this CMFT Viz 11 is actually going to be available to the public, albeit in super limited quantities. Jordan Brand reports their SC collabo will hit Nike Santa Monica and Nike Roosevelt Field on Saturday, October 23rd, so clear your weekend and head to the coast (after clicking below to get a better look, of course).

Nike has seen more material innovations cooked up in their Beaverton, Oregon kitchens in the past two years or so, than in the previous decade combined. And when you combine several space age advancements into a single sleek runner, you’ve got the makings of a hit. The Nike LunarSpider looks to be one of the lightest everyday runners yet. It’s sleek chassis is comprised of Flywire and a range of synthetics including plenty of mesh, plus memory foam in the heel for personalized comfort and stability. Toss that upper onto a LunarLon sole and you’re still in featherweight territory, which should translate into longer, more enjoyable runs. Check out more shots courtesy of the recent release at Nike Harajuku and stick with Sneaker News for word on a stateside drop.

If his Reebok ‘collaborations’ were you first exposure to ‘The Radiant Child’, you might think Jean-Michel Basquiat was the Tupac Shakur of sneakers. In reality, Basquiat stands as one of the key figures in neo-expressionism, a shooting star whose genius was too great for this world. And thanks to the Reebok Affili’art collection, his works continue to get exposure on the streets, with two new pairs set to touch down with the quickness. The Reebok Top Down is made up for ladies in a simple black and white colorway with tons of text inspired by 1983′s ‘Discography (One)’, with a pair of Court Victory Pumps echoing the jazzy theme and evoking the following year’s ‘Trumpet’. Check out shots of both pairs after the jump and grab yours today from Kix-Files.

We’ve got more Nike Boots to choose from than ever before, and that’s no doubt due to the great success of All Conditions Gear. Now in its third decade of outdoor dominance, Nike ACG continues to crank out new and old hits alike, with their latest model equally impressive, if something of a departure. The Nike ACG Mandara boot is among the sleekest ACG releases in its three-decade run, offering a minimalist construction atop a rugged hiking-style sole. This first colorway is almost entirely wheat suede, and with the gum rubber bottom, these joints have more than just a hint of Timberland flair/a>. Check out more shots after the jump and look for these at select Nike Sportswear spots like Shelta.

With the breaking news of the LeBron 8 V2, it’s easy to tell that the first version of the LeBron 8 is more winter ready with a luxurious package. As the season goes on and the resultant wear and tear of 82 games begins to take its toll on LeBron James, he’ll make the switch to the V2, which is lighter and more breathable. You can, however, bank on LeBron wearing the Black/White-Sport Red-Metallic Gold colorway of the Nike LeBron 8. We’re inching closer and closer to a retail release and LeBron’s eighth shoe so take a look at this great new gallery of images courtesy of Dunk and get yourself an pair of the LeBron 8 early right now on eBay.

Sneaker Con NYC brings out the best of the best in the sneaker game – a group that includes DJ Clark Kent, Mayor, and All Day of the ATF Crew. Surely a conglomerate of some of the biggest sneaker collectors in the world, Clark Kent, Mayor, and All Day stopped by Sneaker Con to cop some fresh kicks and show off what everyone don’t got. DJ Clark Kent rocked a clean pair of the Nike Air Max LeBron VII ‘Fairfax High School’ PE while Mayor slipped on a fresh pair of the releasing-in-2011 White/Cement III. All Day repped his Yankee pride by rocking a White-Navy-Gum pair of Air Force 1 Bespokes, inspired by the New York Yankees. Check out the gallery of the ATF Crew @ Sneaker Con NYC after the jump and let us know which ‘Addicted To Fresh’ member had the best overall fit.

As with all three Air Jordan II ‘Candy Pack’ releases, the above pictured pair could just as easily be M&Ms or Skittles. Lacking a formal collaboration with Mars (neither Masterfoods nor Blackmon) means you get to pick if you want chocolatey or fruity, but there’s little debate over what’s the dopest Halloween themed pack for 2010. These joints come in the Del Sol shade of yellow made famous on various Kobe Bryant signatures in recent years and offers an eye-popping contrast against select black accents and a white outsole. Check out shots of this nubuck and pebbled leather pair of AJIIs after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for updates on the Candy Pack release date. via Dunk

One huge reason that October/early November is considered one of the best times of the year for sports fans is that the more things change, the more they stay the same. Like Robinson Cano, who Bo Jackson cheered on in one of the original Nike BOOM videos, who continues to stay hot as his New York Yankees contend for the American League pennant. Or the third-ranked Boise State Broncos who are busting through their opponents on the gridiron in real life just as much as they did in Rick Ross‘ original BOOM segment, even as the former #1 Alabama Crimson Tide fell out of the top of the rankings (and out of the latest cut). And Tim Tebow‘s segment as an onlooker in fancy clothes has held up nicely despite early flashes for the ‘other’ Broncos, so when you take the best of all these and link ‘em up, what better word for the action-packed minute of video than ‘BOOM’!

Q-Tip, along with The Roots, performed at the 2010 Hennessy Artistry Concert Series in New York at Cipriani Wall Street this past Thursday night. Q-Tip, whose one of our favorite celebrity sneakerheads, kept it fresh with a pair of the Nike Air Max 1 “Silver Medals” that were released a couple of years ago as a part of a larger 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics collection. The Metallic Silver all-over perforated leather Air Max 1 used a colorway and material that we haven’t seen in some time from Nike. Take a look at some more pics and let us know what you think about Q-Tip’s latest fit after the jump.

The Nike Hyperfuse debuted last summer with a Decades Pack inspired by some of the greatest Nike Sportswear colorways throughout history. Now for the third edition of the flagship Hyper- series, Nike Basketball hearkens back to the early ’90s, but more generally than a particular shoe. The Nike Air Max Hyperdunk 2010 is pictured above in a mostly Wolf Grey palette, which means the bright accents are certifiably explosive. The soft gradient outline of a black Swoosh gives a ‘glowing’ effect, with this shade picked up by the ankle strap and outsole, and finds its foil in the peek of purple sneaking out around the edge of the sockliner. Check out more shots after the jump and grab yours today from Finish Line.

Nike Sportswear has used their fair share of gingham in recent years, and next year looks to be prime BBQ time for sneakerheads with this upcoming pack. The Nike Air Force 1 ‘Pic-Nic Pack’ shows us that you should expect more brilliant, simply-blocked AF1s in 2011, all while adding new twists to the seasonal theme. And the key unifying factor here is simplicity, with the checkerboard plaid pattern moved from the outside as with many of 2010′s summer kicks, and leaving gingham to peek out along the sockliner. These joints are otherwise mostly white, with the lowtop adding a navy Swoosh and both bottomed by a gum outsole. Check out shots of both pairs after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for more on the Nike Sportswear Summer 2011 footwear collection. via MN
