Some may argue this claim but any sneaker in the Knicks/Mets royal blue and bright orange looks great. The Zoom LeBron IV ‘Birthday’ and LeBron VII ‘Hardwood Classic’, the SB Dunk Low ‘Supa’, Air Max 1 ‘Amsterdam’ Hyperstrike, and countless other general release shoes just seem to shine with the blue/orange colorway. Here’s a bit of trivia. What was the last Air Jordan shoe Michael wore as a Chicago Bull? That’s an easy one – the Air Jordan XIV ‘Last Shot’. How about the second-to-last pair? The answer to that is the Air Jordan XIII ‘Playoff’s, which Michael wore in Game 5 of the 1998 NBA Finals before switching to the ‘Last Shots’ for the second half of the game. The Playoff XIII is your run-of-the-mill black/white/red Air Jordan but stands out due to its tonal black colorway and eye-catching yellow circle on the tongue. Add to that the fact that the Playoff XIII hasn’t been retroed, and you’ve got yourself a frontrunner for one of the best Air Jordan Retros of 2011. Set for the 2011 release in the Nike Lunar Haze, the Lunar-cushioned and Fuse-uppered running shoe providing supreme comfort and weightless construction. Sneaker News recently showed you a womens sample of the Lunar Haze in a grey/black/blue colorway, but here we get a look at a simple white/black/red colorway in mens. The Fuse-laden upper is very similar to the upcoming Air Max 2011, which also features multiple polygonal Fuse ‘windows’ revealing a mesh underlayer. Another interesting feature is the two-piece Lunar cushion composed of thick heel unit and tapering forefoot construction. The Dip Set made a triumphant return to the stage this past Thanksgiving weekend, in front of thousands of hometown fans, Cam’Ron, Juelz Santana, Jim Jones, and Freakey Zekey reunited for a historic performance at the Hammerstein Ballrom in New York City. While the concert was covered by numerous affiliates of our Complex Media Network we were more interested in what Dip Set was rocking on their feet. While we still can’t quite pinpoint what Killa Cam was wearing Jim Jones did have on a pair of the Air Max 24-7′s in the Original Air Max 95 “Neon” colorway on while Juelz Santana decided to go for a clean pair of “Uptown’s” otherwise known as White on White Air Force 1′s. With only 31 pairs of the Dominique Wilkins-inspired Packer Shoes x Reebok Pumps up for grabs when they released last November, there were a lot of admirers of the shoe who never even got close to getting their hands on a pair. Indiana alumni and defensive-minded role player extraordinaire Jared Jeffries started his pro career with the Washington Wizards, playing alongside Michael Jordan during the final year of Jordan’s career. Since then, Jeffries, who isn’t a ‘superstar’ by any standards, was a recipient of some great Air Jordan PEs and also wore some Air Jordan Retros during his post-Wizards days. For the 2005-2006 season, Jeffries “career” year that concluded with an ingenious multi-year contract from Isiah Thomas, Jordan Brand fashioned this great Air Jordan XIV PE in white, blue, and mustard gold, matching the Wizards uniforms of that season, with Jeffries’ ’1′ stitched on upper ankles of the medial sidewalls. Nike in Prague was the location for a sweet preview for Spring 2011 releases, but the actual installments and displays might’ve outshined the actual items. With an installation team comprised of Daniel Gonzalez, Richard and Thomas Varga Rozhoň, Nike Prague was transformed into an exhibit of sorts, using classic Air Max runners as the focal point in the ‘footwear fashion meets suspended artistry’ showcase.
