Growing up as a sneaker fanatic and a basketball fan, you just had to have your favorite player’s signature shoes. Your allegiance to a team and its star player transcends design and price, because all that really mattered is that you were repping your on-court idol on your feet. In the 90’s, it wasn’t just Michael Jordan who had a signature shoe – you had your choice of Barkley, Penny, Shaq, Ewing, Mutumbo, Payton, and as the NBA reached a new era, guys like Tracy McGrady, Vince Carter, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James had their legion of fans wearing their kicks. Complex magazine with NK’s George Kiel III came up with a list of the twenty-five best signature basketball shoes of all time, with selections both obvious and unexpected. Take a look at a sample of the Top 25 after the jump and head to Complex.com for the full feature.
