Before this season, when someone said “Nike Air Max 1 ‘Crepe’“, you knew exactly what they were talking about. A model that was ahead of its time in 2004 and has aged so well it’d be among the best colorways all year in 2010, the Crepe AM1 will now be joined by three equally ‘mature’ spongey soled 87s. The AM1 ‘Crepe’ is pictured above in the rich dark brown shade known as Dark Cinder, and its tonal application in leather, mesh and horeshair makes for one of the earthiest looks all year. Add that to a Wallabee-like soft latex sole, and you’ve got a sneaker that could easily pass for a dress shoe.
