“The University of Oregon is really special and unique, and different than any other college.”
Tinker Hatfield is unquestionably the most influential sneaker designer of our time, the brilliant mind behind most of the Air Jordan series. Nike’s affiliation with the University of Oregon has resulted in some of the most unique uniforms you could ever hope to see on a college sports team. So what happens when you set Tinker loose on the Killkenny Floor at UO’s Matt Arena? Quite possibly the most visually impressive hardwood court ever created, that’s all. Hatfield wanted to pay tribute to the aforementioned namesakes and the special environ afforded by Oregon’s northwest US perch, and the result is a floor that incorporates a stunning fir tree forest in its unprecedentedly detailed design. Have a good look at the court when you click the jump below, where we also have a video of Tinker himself discussing what went into this study on arboreal life cycles. via GoDucks
