A $600 Converse shoe? Might be a bit steeper than what you’d expect from Converse but these aren’t your ordinary Chucks. Created by Japanese designer Sak as apart of the Converse First String Collection, the Converse Star Tech is Sak’s personal rendition of the classic Converse All-Star, One Star, and Jack Purcell, constructed in the finest leather materials using Italian styling with each pair handmade by Sak himself. Sak states that “I’m trying to express myself creating a pair of shoes but hoping that the client wearing them is finding his way of expressing himself too.” Sak’s personal connection with each pair of shoes he produces is more than evident in the calculating and exacting manner he approaches the shoes in which he is crafting, which reflects the Converse First String mission statement to a tee. Just 64 pairs of each colorway will release at four select locations – John Varvatos and Aloha Rag in NYC, Concepts in Boston, Blends in Costa Mesa – so take a look at the utmost in premium Converse shoes after the jump and let us know what you think of the design.
