As far as sneakers go, a few materials pop up more often than others. We see leathers, suedes and nubucks all the time, along with nylon (meshes) and plenty of textiles. Here’s a look at a new pair from adidas Originals that falls into the first category as a synthetic leather, but also resides in another group that’s considerably more exclusive. The adidas Originals Stan Smith 80s Lux Stingray is covered in an imitation of exactly what its name suggests: ray skin. Looks like they’re ready for Steve Zissou’s latest expedition too with a rugged feel thanks to D-ring eyelets, and they should hit retailers next March. via GLLTN
