After a typically gluttonous spending spree during the Holiday season, shoppers make the New Years resolution of cutting down the shopping and clamping down the wallet. For sneakerheads, there is no New Years resolution or a period of financial cleansing or regeneration; it’s a 24/7/365 condition that relentlessly eats away at your will power to the point where masochism prevails and you have no choice but the swipe the plastic against the metallic strip and make yet another sneaker purchase. It’s a vicious cycle, and with the upcoming release of the Nike Air Griffey Max 1 in ‘Sport Red’, there’s no sign of remission. Color-blocked to perfection (although some nit-pickers might point out the Griffey didn’t wear ’24’ during his days as a Red), this is a bonafide ‘must-cop’ for Griffey fans and sneakerheads alike.
