It’s hard to imagine the sheer number of unreleased and scrapped projects that never went beyond the Nike cutting room floor, and this curious basketball shoe seemingly inspired by Charles Barkley’s signature line has us wondering what other fun experiments went on in the Innovation kitchen. Check out this rare, unreleased, and scrapped Nike Basketball shoe that looks like a hybrid between the Nike Air Force Max and an updated version of the Nike Air Revolution; the midsole is taken from the popular 90’s basketball shoe made infamous by Barkley and Michigan’s Fab Five, while the upper is designed as a contemporary take on another classic basketball shoe from nearly a decade before the Air Force Max. Moving from the customary tongue position to the heel is the famous Air Max emblem. So what do you think of this ‘hybrid’ basketball shoe? Had these released, we would have expected these to release sometime in the Spring/Summer of 2009, so check out the extra shots after the jump and pick up this rare sample from checkmarksthespot on eBay.
