As is the case with the Nike Air Foamposite One colorway it draws on, the Air Jordan Six Rings in Dark Neon Royal is on tap for a Spring 2011 release, and there’s already another satiny metallic pair in the works for soon thereafter. Nobody would cry if the Pewter colorway made its way over to a 6 Rings port, but you can also expect a resoundingly positive reaction from the Metallic Black 6 Rings. Looking a tiny bit like the Black Air Force 1 Foamposite that will release to retail this Friday, the Metallic Black Six Rings is dark as night, save for the translucent sole, and features a matte if metal-like finish on its not-quite-patent, not-quite-Foamposite mudguard and heel. After a successful initial release of the Nike Zoom Huarache TR Mid, each of the 10 NCAA Pro Combat Pack school colorways were slowly released. It began with a trio consisting of Boise State, TCU, and Virginia Tech, followed by another cluster of releases a few weeks later featuring Miami, Florida, and Alabama. The final four colorways of the Nike Zoom Huarache TR Mid NCAA Pro Combat Pack are now available as well; West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Oregon State, and Ohio State round out the 10 schools – all of which can be purchased right now at NikeStore. Kevin Durant returned to the NBA hardwood after being sidelined for a few games with a sprained ankle. Well, the Thunder managed to win both games in Durant’s absence and upon his return, the young squad won by a larger margin against the Minnesota Timberwolves. When photos of the Nike Zoom Kobe 6 ‘Christmas’ first surfaced, a few thoughts came to mind. These are on the opposite side of the spectrum from the LeBron 8 V.2 ‘Christmas’, and unless the Heat can get their act together, these green-on-green ZK6s might end up looking like the Grinch to Bron and his Miami teammates. Some have also speculated that as a follow up to last year’s Zoom Kobe V ‘Bruce Lee’, these can be seen as a tribute to Lee’s stint as Cato on ‘The Green Hornet’. No matter which fictional character(s) they’re based on, Santa’s still real to us, and the proof is this amazing sneaker headed to retail. When UNC, Cal and Georgetown rocked them along with special white/silver uniforms back in February, it looked like the Air Jordan 2010 ‘Silver Anniversary’ was something of a PE. Luckily for Jordanheads, the 25th Anniversary edition of the 25th Air Jordan was released early this month, and here’s a look at a sample that probably would have sold out just as quickly. These Silver Anniversary AJ2010s feature two design elements that tend to always make Jays look great: laser etching and reflective 3M material. The Playstation 2 x Nike Air Force 1 was a seminal collaboration, a groundbreaking colorway that served as a harbinger of things to come in both the super-limited and teamup categories that have come to dominate the sneaker scene in recent years. Sony and the Swoosh are back together, this time celebrating the PSX’s 15th anniversary by highlighting two of the PS3′s biggest releases: Killzone 3 and the new PS Move motion controller. Sony Director of Product Publicity Ron Eagle got to work on the Nike Zoom Huarache TR ‘Move’ and SFB ‘Killzone’, each of which is jaw dropping in its own way.
The Huaraches go with a black base and electric blue accents along with a iridescent lenticular Swoosh on the heels, while the Killzone Special Forces Boots feature an eery eye on the lateral ankles with speckles and accent stitches to bring some depth to the nearly all-black design. Supra is no stranger to Air Jordan-inspired designs and colorways, and with 2010 set to go down as the ‘Year of Cool Grey’, it’s no huge surprise that the Crown Brand is offering their own shiny, steely collection. The Supra Vaider ‘Cool Grey’ is crafted in a tonal grey mix of nubuck, canvas and, you guessed it, patent leather for one of the more interesting non-Air Jordan XI releases in ‘cool grey’ this season. These are among the nicer Supra releases on record with that mix, plus an embroidered crown on the lateral ankles, along with matching hoodies and tees.
