Autospy of the Nike SB Dunk

The Nike Dunk will live on forever but the age-old construction used for the Nike SB Dunk may be on its last breath. With plans of a completely changed construction of the Nike SB Dunk for 2011, Nike performed a post-mortem examination of the Nike SB Dunk, pointing out the possible causes of “death”, and using those points of focus, the 2011 Nike SB Dunk will be better than ever. With a Phylon midsole for better impact protection, a cored outsole for a lighter package, and a new tread pattern for better grip, the Nike SB Dunk will certainly be the best skate shoe it could possibly be. A change might have been due, because the SB Dunk of old was merely a Zoom-cushioned, tongue-fattened version of the classic basketball shoe. Check out the video as well as the image still after the jump and let us know what you expect in terms of comfort/performance from the Nike SB Dunk.

Nike Zoom Hyperfuse Russell Westbrook Why Not PE | Available @ House of Hoops

Former UCLA standout and lightning-quick do-it-all point guard Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder is enjoying an All-Star caliber season, scoring over 22 a game, accounting for more than 8 of his teammates buckets, picking off more than two of his opponents possessions, and grabbing over 5 rebounds a game. Westbrook’s ‘Why Not’ mentality has led him to be one of the best point guards in the game while being a bonafide team leader while sharing – and perhaps conceding – the spotlight to teammate Kevin Durant. It’s all good for Russell, because he let’s his play do the talking, and now you can at least look like him (From the ankle on down) because the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse Russell Westbrook ‘Why Not’ PE just hit House of Hoops. Check out the detailed shots after the jump and look for these at your local House of Hoops soon.

Nike Air Max 24/7 Neutral Grey Orange Blaze

One of the most successful Nike hybrids to ever grace the pavement, the Air Max 24/7 was a mega hit and was a must-have for any sneakerhead with a pulse. Whether it was the OG-colorway inspired releases or the Air Attack Pack, there were plenty of selections to go around, and doubling-up on pairs was more than excusable – and with the 360 Air cushioning, these were easily the most comfortable Sportswear release of the year. This Orange Blaze colorway here was previewed earlier on Sneaker News in a kids size but are now available in men’s sizes. The Grey gradient upper was a huge success on the Neon and Varsity Red colorways that released earlier and this upcoming colorway should see no different fate. Available now at Kickscrew, check out the detailed shots after the jump and watch for these to hit Nike Sportswear retailers soon.

Air Jordan III Doernbecher Release Date Change

The Air Jordan III Doernbecher was initially set to release in November alongside the rest of the Nike Doernbecher Freestyle VII Collection, but was later postponed to December 11th. Another change in the release date has been set, as it will be available a week earlier than expected and release on December 4th – the first Air Jordan Retro release of the Retro-saturated month of December. With one marquee Jordan Retro dropping each and every weekend in December, Jordan-heads will have a hard time picking and choosing between the Doernbecher III, Air Jordan XIII Altitude, Air Jordan XIII ‘Bulls’, and of course, the Air Jordan XI Cool Grey. Once again, be advised that the Air Jordan III Doernbecher will release on December 4th, so let us know if these are a definite ‘cop’ for you, and stick with Sneaker News for all your Jordan Brand release information.

Nike Zoom Hyperfuse ‘Creamsicle’ – Kevin Durant PE

The age-old orange-and-vanilla ice-cream treat has now become synonymous with Kevin Durant’s kicks due the vibrant orange and blue colorway of the Thunder uniforms, and that nickname stuck on the 3M Orange KD II like peanut butter on the roof of your mouth. Sneaker News gave you a look at the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse ‘Creamsicle’ on someone’s feet not long ago but here’s a better look at Durant’s PE; again, the bright orange upper provides some serious pop with the blue contrast adding the perfect side-dish to this delectable sneaker treat. Many of the Hyperfuse PEs have been dropping at House of Hoops locations so hopefully these will soon follow, so stick with Sneaker News for possible release information and give us your thoughts on the Creamsicle Hyperfuse PE. via NT.

adidas Originals Stan Smith 80s Zebra Lux

Here’s the third adidas Originals 80s release this week we’ve seen sporting an insane animal-inspired upper.  It started with the faux-stingray skinned Stan Smith 80s, then we got a glimpse at an upcoming glow in the dark snakeskin Superstar 80s, and the latest wild style drop combines two animals to create one signature aesthetic.  The adidas Originals Stan Smith 80s pictured above are done entirely in pony hair, but they’ll forever be remembered for the ostentatious zebra print that covers the whole upper save a black leather heel tab.  These have the same D-ring eyelets as the stingray Stans and will release at select Three Stripes retailers around the same time, as part of adidas Originals Spring 2011 footwear drop.  via GLLTN

Nike ACG Rhyolite SFB Holiday 2010 Colorways

A couple of years before Nike Boots hit the fever pitch at which they’re currently releasing, the Nike Air Rhyolite dropped in late 2007 with one of the more exaggerated sole designs on record.  Interestingly enough, the Rhyolite has gotten a breath of fresh Air thanks to a cross with another design that’s aggressive in its own right.  The Nike ACG Rhyolite SFB combines the Rhyolite’s upper with the Special Forces Boot‘s flexible Free sole and these two new colorways are among the most satisfying for the whole Holiday 2010 season.  One pair comes completely decked out in chocolate brown, mostly leather with some rugged canvas around the ankles, while the other pair goes the suede route and combines a lighter brown with a tonal collar and green laces to make the decision of which pair you’ll buy a little tougher.  Maybe the ‘choice’ is a red herring, though, since you can just as easily cop both of these at select Nike Sportswear accounts like Bodega.

Nike Basketball PEs from the 2010 2011 NBA Season

Nike Basketball PEs were once a high-priced rarity but the release of these player-specific shoes for retail have left Nike Basketball fans even more to celebrate (and a lighter wallet to stress over). Here’s a look at some Nike Basketball PE’s you might’ve seen thus far in the 2010-2011 NBA Season; Sneaker News already gave you a great preview of the Nike Hyperfuse PEs, like Rondo’s ’9′ and Russell Westbrook’s ‘Why Not’ Hyperfuse, but here’s a look at some other sick color-combos like Tyreke Evans’ and Trevor Ariza’s Hyperdunk 2010, LaMarcus Aldridge and Al Horford’s Air Max Hyperdunk 2010, and of course others that we’ve seen already, like Euro big-men Gasol and Nowitzki’s Hyperdunk 2010s. Check out the great gallery of all the Nike Basketball PE’s after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for possible future release information on all Nike Basketball PE’s. via Kenlu.

Nike Air Force 1 Low 07 Black Sail Perf Swoosh

Don’t get these babies mixed up with the Nike Air Force 1 Low ‘Hiking Pack’; while both feature black leather uppers with perforated swooshes, the similarities end there. The Hiking Pack version features metal eyelets, hiking-shoe style laces, and a white midsole, but for this December 2010 release, the black upper reaches through the midsole leaving the outsole the alone as the provider of contrast. This upcoming releases was previewed in Sneaker News’ Nike Air Force 1 Holiday 2010 Preview and have just become available at mita sneakers, so watch for these new releases to hit your local AF1 purveyor soon if they haven’t already or pick up a pair now on eBay.
