Team SneakerNews continues to smash the competition in the FLuD Watches “Barksdale & Bell” fantasy basketball league, this week registering our fourth win in five weeks and therefore remaining unbeaten thus far in the 2010-11 season. Team SN took out Team TITS with a commanding 7-2 victory, effectively sliding into the second place spot that we just bumped them out of. Everything is clicking on all cylinders right now, but we know it can’t be all wins all year, so we’ll just have to hope for the best as we look to put our unbeaten record on the line again this week in our Week 6 matchup with Cali clothing brand, Orisue. Wish us luck and be sure to check back next week to learn if Team SneakerNews can keep the streak alive.

Michael Jordan’s Flight School is considered to be one of the best basketball youth camps in the entire world, as Michael Jordan himself participates in instruction, promotions, and other events during the camp. For the first fifty attendees that signed up for Michael Jordan Flight School, this special PE colorway of the Air Jordan Sixty Plus given as a token of encouragement; it features a classic red/white/black colorway with color placement similar to the original Air Jordan 1, but in a patent leather construction on the red panels. The Sixty Plus is a hybrid shoe combining the designs from Air Jordan models MJ wore during his 60+ point performances of his career and only fifty pairs of this special colorway are known to be in existence, with each pair was made in size 13 (Michael Jordan’s size). A Christmas day showdown with the Lakers is in the books for the Miami Heat, but before they engage in battle, it looks like the Miami Heat need to fight inside interior conflicts. The Big Three has yet to prove that their sum is greater than their parts, sitting a mere one game above the .500 hundred mark with the team’s star acquisition bumping heads (or more recently, shoulders) with head coach Erik Spoelstra. There’s no doubt the Heat have some tuning up to do before the nationally-televised contest against the defending champs, but at least we can look forward to a sick sneaker showdown because we might see the LeBron 8 V2 ‘Christmas’ on LeBron’s feet on Christmas Day. Many of the season’s big drops released on Black Friday, leaving sneakerheads intently focused on one upcoming release, the single biggest sneaker of 2010. The ‘Cool Grey’ Air Jordan 11 is back after a 9 year hiatus and the colorway seems absolutely perfect for this year during which simple, tonal designs reigned supreme. The fact that this palette was configured back in 2001 and looks perhaps even more stylish today is a testament to its greatness and one of the many reasons these’ll be hard to get your hands on. Although arguable (feebly), Tthe span from Air Jordan III to Air Jordan VI is considered to be the greatest four-model span in the entire Air Jordan Legacy. The Air Jordan V is certainly one of the greatest footwear designs of all time as celebs certainly agreed, as the Air Jordan V has been a fashion hit back during the Original days as well as the Retro pushes in 2000 and in the recent years. Jordan fans like Will Smith, Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld, and even John Goodman have been spotted with the Air Jordan V, and celebs of the younger generation in the current state of hip-hop have favored the Air Jordan V as well. Hybrid shoes will be one of the keynote sneaker memories of the latter half of the decade, and this unreleased hybrid sample combining the Air Force 1 and Air Max 97 in a black colorway. A released version in the classic ‘silver bullet’ colorway was released but this tonal black leather version never made it beyond the cutting room floor. The midsole features a translucent window into the full-length Air Unit synonymous with the Air Max 97, with a tongue featuring the interlocking lace-holes and the Air Max 97 tongue face featuring an oval with a swoosh. We’ve come to expect a ‘Blackout’ Nike LeBron sneaker every year (plus one for the playoffs) but 2010 marked the first time the triple black colorway would be the first we’d see on the King’s feet. Our first glimpse at the Nike LeBron VIII on LeBron himself was this all-black colorway James donned at the King’s Academy Camp back in July. And after the inline colorup plus China, South Beach and Veterans Day editions, this super versatile LeBron 8 is the latest to hit retail in what should be a long line of hot colorways. The Converse All-Star is an integral cog in the extraordinary history of athletic footwear and in this collaboration with Swedish retailer Sneakersnstuff, Converse is paying its own tribute to a centuries-old tradition. Lovikka, a northern village of Sweden, was notorious for its harsh cold and wind conditions but remarkable for its hard-working townspeople. A local villager named Erika Aittamaa knitted wool mittens to keep her family and fellow villagers warm in the unfriendly climate, and soon the growing popularity of the wool accessories became a growing business and trademark of the village that is still recognized today. Converse, in a partnership with Sneakersnstuff, has created the ‘Lovikka’ All-Star, a wool-construction Converse All-Star taking after a mitten, with the ‘SNS’ logo stitched on the medial wall and multi-colored tassels at the heels. The Sneakersnstuff x Converse Lovikka All-Star will release on December 3rd exclusively at Converse First String accounts such as Bodega, Undefeated, Colette, Sneakersnstuff, and Hanon.

Lately many of the re-issued Air Jordans are being produced with minor yet dauntingly noticeable changes, like the switch from leather to mesh on the upcoming Air Jordan XIII ‘Altitude. Sneakerheads have opined, in several differing viewpoints, regarding the alterations; some lament the brand’s decision and point to a lack of continuity, while others seem to take it in stride, perhaps suggesting the newer releases as an attempt to preserve what’s already out there, leaving the originals for those who were “in the game” the first time around.
The upcoming limited released of the Altitude XIII features the most obvious change – swapping out the leather-uppered dimple shroud to a ballistic mesh. The only other change, as noted in this great comparison by SoleCollector, lies in the shade of Altitude Green on the bottom sole; the 2010 version appears to be a brighter hue than the 2005 version. Outside of the updated Jordan box and lack of a Retro card, everything else about the shoe appears to be consistent with the original 2005 version.
