When it was announced that LeBron would be changing his number from 23 to 6, it was safe to say that we’d seen the last of the “L23″ logo that has appeared on the Nike LeBron line for years. For the Nike LeBron 8, there was no LeBron logo to speak of, just his signature and the lion head that has become synonymous with the Nike LeBron line as well. When we sat down to talk with LeBron designer Jason Petrie a few weeks back, we asked about the possibility of a new logo, but now we’re getting a look much earlier than we were led to believe. During last night’s NBC Person of the Year interview with Matt Lauer, King james was seen wearing a polo sporting a new logo that continues to use the crown concept by placing the crown from the original logo on top of an “LJ” to form a larger crown. Look for the new LeBron logo to begin appearing on Nike LeBron shoes and gear in 2011.
According to CNBC’s Darren Rovell:
Nike has just confirmed to me that this is LeBron’s new logo. Their statement:
“In his interview with NBC airing November 25th, LeBron is wearing a polo (shirt) featuring his new logo. We are really pleased that it incorporates LeBron’s initials “L” and “J” and retains the crown from his previous iconic logo. The new logo will appear on LeBron’s product in 2011 and on quick strike product.”

When an all green Nike Zoom Kobe VI surfaced as Kobe Bryant’s Christmas Day colorway, it was natural to associate them with the holiday’s greenest fictional character: Dr. Seuss’ Grinch. Dude was not only covered in lime colored fur, but he was among the more jealous villains on record before the tiny Hoos melted his heart. It’s a story for the ages, and whether the above mentioned ZK6 was inspired by this tale, Cato from the Green Hornet or both, here’s a look at an official Dr. Seuss collaboration effort that requires zero speculation. The Dr. Seuss x Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Grinch Pack contains ten different models spread across both high and lowtop models in adult and kids sizes. They range from full on Grinch faces on the lateral heels to subtler designs and all are currently available at the source: Converse.

Not everyone has the day off on Thanksgiving, as four NBA teams were in action on the night of the biggest cheat-meal of the year. The Washington Wizards faced off against the Atlanta Hawks in a great showing of kicks, as Gilbert Arenas wore the Jordan CMFT Max Air 12 again while teammate John Wall repped the Zig Slash and Andray Blatche and Nick Young wore their personalized pairs of the Nike Zoom Kobe V. Atlanta’s Kobe V showing was impressive as well, as Marvin Williams wore the Kobe V ‘USA’ while Josh Powell had his own rendition of red-white-blue. Joe Johnson also wore the Jordan Six Rings in a matching colorway as well. Out West, an inter-California battle between the Clippers and Kings took place, with Eric Bledsoe wearing the white colorway of the LeBron VII P.S. and rising star Blake Griffin wearing the Nike Hyperfuse. One the opponent’s side was Tyreke Evans and the Nike Hyperdunk 2010. Check out all the Thanksgiving Day action after the jump and let us know who deserves the prized turkey leg! via ESPN.

English rapper and songwriter/musician Dizzee Rascal produced something not so ‘stank’ last year when he designed a pair of the Nike Air Max 90, one of Sneaker News’ Top 30 Shoes of 2009. Here’s a look at an unreleased sample of the Nike Air Force 1 that was also drawn out by Dizzee. The upper features a mix of premium materials – flat leather on the toe, brown suede on the center panel, and red ostrich suede on the rear portion – with the tongue featuring a stitched applique of his recording label ‘Dirtee Stank’. Additional special messaging on the heels in the form of ‘Fix Up’ and ‘Look Sharp’, but the most glaring design feature of this unreleased sample is, of course, the steaming pile of…chocolate on the heel. Check out the extra shots of this unreleased sample after the jump and let us know what you think of the design! via soonyoullunderstand.

The spindly Texas alumni and last season’s break-out mega-star Kevin Durant is enjoying another successful season so far, and recently, after a brief rest from a sprained ankle, Durant returned to the hardwood wearing the Nike Zoom KD III. The shoe itself was first debuted by his teammates D.J. White and Royal Ivey during a game in which Durant was still out with injury, but he made his own debut with his third signature shoe the day after (with Nick Collison actually wearing another colorway of the KD III). Now YOU can have the Nike Zoom KD III on your feet as well as the Black, Photo Blue, and Team Orange colorway is now available in time for the Black Friday shopping season. You can find them at Nike Basketball retailers like Eastbay so take a look at the detailed gallery after the jump and let us know if you’ll be copping these now.

Michael Finley stormed the league as a late first-round pick in 1995 and quickly got our attention with his high-flying power dunks and leaping ability. However, he got Michael Jordan’s attention years earlier when the two squared off on a one-on-one contest that Finley won from a radio show contest. The then high-schooler Finley impressed Jordan so much that the legend went as far as mentioning that they’d possibly meet again in the future as professionals. After an impressive 15 year career, Finley will be remembered as one of the more profilic scorers of this NBA generation, being accountable for a solid 20 per night throughout his prime years with the Mavericks. During that span, Finley wore some great Air Jordan PEs, like the Air Jordan XV, Air Jordan XVI, and the Air Jordan XII. This particular pair is the same Air Jordan XII PE we’ve shown you before, but is extra special because it was Game-Worn and autographed by Finley himself (although the autograph is not an authorized one). Check out the gallery after the jump and pick up this rare pair from kickzrustm on eBay.

Playoffs? PLAYOFFS?”. No, that’s not an impression of Jim Mora’s classic Peyton-bashing post-game rant, but a clamor of uncontrolled excitement for this upcoming Air Jordan Retro. The Air Jordan XIII ‘Playoffs’, which Michael Jordan wore in the earlier stages of the 1998 NBA Playoffs as well as the All-Star Game of that year, is one of the many great colorways of the Air Jordan XIII – like the Flints which are dropping on Black Friday. Featuring a tonal black upper with leather on the dimpled sections, white on the midsole ‘paws’, and red/white outsole, the Playoff XIIIs is another reason to extend your credit card re-payment plan. Check out these new detailed images after the jump and let us know which Air Jordan XIII colorway is the best of all time. via rstor.

“Last night, Darth Vader came down from planet Vulcan and told me that if I didn’t take Lorraine out cop the DeLorean 6.0 Dunk SE that he’d melt my brain.”
Sneaker News recently gave you a detailed look at the Nike 6.0 Dunk SE ‘DeLorean’, which featured a one-piece upper and a colorway paying tribute to one of the weirdest yet most lovable automobiles since the inception of the wheel. The DeLorean DMC-12 failed as an auto but succeeded as a movie prop, breaking necks at time-traveling speed, and now you have the opportunity to set foot in the Dunk-turned-time machine this Black Friday as it will release at select PacSun locations around the nation. PacSun is one of most recognized action sports apparel retailers today and its partnership with Nike 6.0 that dates back to the middle part of this decade is being rewarded with this exclusive release. Continue reading for a full list of PacSun release locations and let us know what you think of this ‘futuristic’ design.

It’s finally here – the biggest shopping day of the 365-day calendar, full of clearance prices and insane markdowns that lead to fatal stampedes and early-morning campouts. The Air Jordan XIII ‘Flint’ is one shoe that won’t be marked down but will still experience nice sales numbers, which is typically against the Black Friday grain of buying stuff you don’t really need for astoundingly low prices. Well, the Flints are a must-have for any Jordan collection and worth stocking up on if you’ve got a pair of OGs or Retros sitting pretty in your closet. The Air Jordan XIII ‘Flint’ will finally hit (officially) Jordan Brand retailers tomorrow, November 26th so let us know if you’ll be getting them in the morning – or just skip the raging crowd and snag a pair on eBay.
