With Nike’s Retro releases mixed right in with its new designs, big-time stars of a previous generation still hold a level of star power today. Many of today’s sneakerheads weren’t around to see Penny Hardaway during his prime or even with his Thunder & Lightning days with Shaquille O’neal, but the release of almost all of Penny’s signature shoes in original and brand new colorways brings a sense of familiarity to the guy. Here’s another look at the all-new black and club purple colorway of Hardaway’s first signature shoe, the Nike Air Max Penny 1. Sneaker News first showed you this colorway in late October after a heads up in April, but come January 14th, 2011 the ‘Suns’ Air Max Penny can be yours for more than just a mere viewing. The tonal black upper features a purple jeweled swoosh, white contrast stitching, and a 1-cent logo fashioned in club purple and mandarin orange. Take a look at these new detailed images after the jump and grab these at Nike Retro Basketball retailers like Eastbay next month.
