As we’ve seen a couple times over the last week, New York’s Madison Square Garden tends to bring out the absolute best in visiting superstars.  Michael Jordan was a notably successful cameo player at the basketball Mecca, with more MSG highlights over his career than we could fit in a reasonably-sized post.  One significant (if ‘meaningless’) moment came in the 1998 NBA All Star Game where MJ racked up the MVP award and nearly a triple-double en route to an easy East win.  Were that year like most others he probably would have rocked the Flints with the Eastern Conference’s blue unis, but with the MLB-style uniforms in effect, MJ broke out the Air Jordan XIII ‘Playoffs’.  These might be the single most hotly anticipated release for Spring 2011 and look to be a perfect replica of the original.  Click through to get a better look at January’s biggest drop from in52 and avoid the midwinter rush by grabbing a pair early on eBay.

The sneaker game today has allowed for the emergence of nationwide chain retailers as primary spots for sneaker pick-ups. With that said, it is an undeniable truth that the sub-culture had been cultivated by mom-and-pops, local neighborhood spots, and diamonds in the rough that are tucked away in the rarely-explored corners of town. Inside The Sneaker Box and stumbled upon one particular gem – with a name and location they understandably refuse to disclose – and what they found inside was a seemingly untapped oil well so sweet that it’s almost felonious. During ITSB’s trip to what they call “Sneaker Heaven”, they exhibited a display of original Air Jordans and Air Maxes, Converse React Juice and other jaw-dropping kicks, with a stock-room full of old-school gems from L.A. Gear and Reebok as well as a surplus of stock of GR Nikes that people would pay top dollar for today. 2010 has been nothing short of massive and we already knew next year would also be a big one for Nike Air Foamposite technology, but last week’s preview showed even more crazy pearlized colorways on tap!  The pair above is one we already knew about before it popped up in those photos but the Nike Air Foamposite Pro ‘Electric Green’ is undeniably crazy in its own right.  These joints have some Kryptonate DNA in them, which apparently also bestows the power of time travel for the purposes of creating sick basketball sneakers.  This is our first look at the Electric Green Foamposite Pro on a person’s foot and they look quite impressive next to dude’s blonde hardwood floors.  Does seeing these Foam Pros in a real-world setting make you want them even more?  Click below to see more new pics from HoopChina and pick up a pair early on eBay.

Nike started its outdoor unit in 1989, two years after the Air Max 1 shook up the running world with its visible Air unit.  So when you see the All Conditions Gear branding on the Nike Air Max 1 ‘ACG Pack’, you might think of older friends taking you out to celebrate your 21st.  This particular Dark Shadow colorway has the quality of being all at once vibrant, high-contrast and yet somehow there’s a subtle perfection.  Maybe it’s the pink laces, and the ACG-style ruggedization is a big plus, but in any case these are clearly one of the more energetic Eighty-Sevens we’ve seen in 2010 and they’re available right now from shaolin8 on eBay.

The Nike Air Royal Mid ‘Workboot’ releases of late 2009 were certainly some of the most underrated drops in recent memory. For Spring 2011, an all-new colorway of the Nike Sportswear lifestyle-inspired Royal Mid arrives – this time in a wheat leather upper with a gum mid-sole, reminiscent of Timberland’s Classic 6-inch boots. The upper features workboot-style lace eyelets with roped laces and a pebbled leather upper for a hint of rugged in this overall clean look, and a ‘Your Time Will Come’ label appears on the tongue.
