Certain purists have decried the Nike Air Force 1 Mid, really for no other reason than it’s not High or Low like the originals. But the AF1 mid certainly does a good job of replicating the OG Air Forces’ look but with a cut betwixt, and this super-simple colorway further reaches back to the Uptown’s roots. And for a shoe made famous in New York, these certainly have a central North Carolina look about them with a royal blue Swoosh atop a black leather base. A can’t-miss for Blue Devil fans here; you can click on the jump to see more angles and grab your pair of the latest Nike Air Force 1 Mid at JD Sports.

Sneaker News’ recent coverage of Nike Basketball sneakers for 2011 continues with this preview of the Nike Hyperfuse Low. We’ve already given you an exclusive look on some other colorways but here’s a nice look at what to expect. One noticable difference between the Mid version and the Low (outside of the obvious height difference) is the color-blocking of the upper Fuse material; the mids featured tonal uppers while the Lows seem conducive to multi-colored layers of Fuse. The Hyperfuse Low figures to be a popular shoe particularly for the summer and for those who have warmed up to low-cut kicks. Check out the upcoming colorways after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for more Nike Basketball 2011 updates. via CK.

The LeBron-to-New York rumors reached a high point when former Cavaliers star LeBron James rocked a Yankees fitted…IN Cleveland…AT Jacobs Field (actually Progressive field). That was certainly a sign of things to come (the leaving part, not the New York part), and although LeBron’s decision to spurn New York for warmer weathers, there are still some LeBron loyalists out in NYC – which means this Yankees colorway of Navy and White should be a popular one once it releases. This upcoming colorway of the LeBron 8 V.2 is comprised of the two simple Yankees colorways, with navy on the upper, a white outsole, airbag, swoosh, and lace placket, with a metallic silver swoosh border and figure-8 lace eyelet. Take an extra look after the jump and let us knoww hat you think of the colorway. via Marqueesole.

Most of the best loved Nike Air Max 95 colorways feature suede and mesh construction with some reflective 3M for visibility, and while this new pair uses none of those materials, it’ll have no problem being seen. These new Ninety-Fives are crafted entirely in black leather, but because some of it’s smooth and supple while contrasting tiers are done in patent leather, you get a pretty wide range of this ‘un-color’. And as with pretty much any athletic shoe, adding red and white accents to a black base makes for a must-cop. Jordan Brand hasn’t ever gotten around to retroing packs but if they did, these would certainly make a nice Raging Bull redux. The Air Jordan Prime V blends all-red Air Jordan V styling with the AJ Alpha 1 silhouette and sole for a look that offers a nice bookend for the first five years of history’s most storied sneaker line. The familiar red-on-grey embossed tongue makes for a nice contrast and you get just a tiny icy kiss from the AJ5′s signature lacelock. This is the most ‘natural’ colorway of the AJ Prime 5; is it the best? 2009 = Space Jam. 2010 = Cool Grey. What could be in store for 2011? The Jordan Retro rumor mill has been spinning at a rapid pace and speculation of a number of Air Jordan XI Retro releases have already been discussed – with one hot topic being an Air Jordan XI ‘package’. What do know now is the Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’ is indeed confirmed for 2011, and judging by Jordan Brand’s recent XI schedule, the Concords could be THE purchase for the Holiday 2011 season. Michael Jordan first wore the Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’ during the 1995 NBA Playoffs during his return from a short-lived retirement; he was given a test pair by Tinker Hatfield and Michael simply could not resist wearing them in the game. He was subsequently warned by the league for not complying with team-color uniformity, so for one game, he had to wear one of Penny Hardaway’s kicks (the Air Flight One). So among the Space Jams, Cool Greys, and the Concords, which Air Jordan XI colorway is your favorite? Let us know what you think of the looming release. via NT.

“D3′s mission just got real critical fellas . . . I mean, we should be undefeated!”
The Miami Heat aren’t nearly undefeated over the entire NBA season, but thanks to hot play from each member of their new big 3, a 12-game winning streak could be at 14 by the time they face the Lakers on Christmas Day. Dwyane Wade is doing particularly well during this stretch, averating over 26 PPG during the Heat’s streak. Is it possible Jordan Brand operative Kevin ‘H’ Hart could have had a little something to do with this? Unlikely, but the latest ‘Dominate Another Day’ video with him advising a couple of other JB ballers on the finer points of dominant basketball is pretty funny. Click through to see the video in its entirety and stick with Sneaker News for updates on all Air Jordan release dates.

This weekend brought a new batch of NBA news, hot topics, and of course, kicks on the hardwood. The Miami Heat are red-hot and sizzling, Javale McGee proved once again that he’s not as good as he thinks he is, and Blake Griffin continued his highlight reel. Some of the notable sneakers of the weekend included the Nike LeBron 8, worn by LeBron James, Nate Robinson, and Courtney Lee, Dwyane Wade’s Air Jordan 2010 PE, Chris Paul’s CP3.IV, and Kevin Durant’s KD III. The man we’ve had our eyes glues on this entire season was out of action for the weekend, but you should expect Gilbert Arenas to rock some more heat once he dons his new Orlando Magic threads. Check out all the kicks from the weekend and stay tuned to Sneaker News for the best coverage of NBA Feet! via ESPN.

The last colorways of the Air Jordan XX3 dropped just about two years ago, in in the time since then we’ve seen a variety of unreleased samples, player exclusives and most recently, a crazy Tinker Hatfield edition with perhaps the most intricate of all the XX3′s side panels. And that’s certainly saying something, cos even the ‘standard’ Air Jordan XX3s like this Joe Johnson PE feature an elaborate DNA/argyle embroidery pattern. It’s red and blue-on-white on this pair of home PEs for Atlanta Hawks games at Phillips Arena. These joints come in JJ’s US mens size 16 and are totally deadstock sans OG box, available for a short time from mixtrapllc on eBay.

It’s not quite a hybrid but the Air Jordan Evolution ’85 does a good job of capturing some of the key aesthetics that have defined Jordan Brand and the Air Jordan Legacy over the last quarter-century. The colorway pictured above is quintessential Air Jordan, a black base with red and white accents like you might expect to see from MJ and the Chicago Bulls during another run deep into June. These joints reach as far back as the AJ3 for Elephant print and AJV for its slotted perforations, but then add an unprecedented forefoot strap and unique tongue pull-triangle to make them feel fresh. Sneaker News reported these for sale at FinishLine but they were quickly removed as the Bred Jordan Evolution ’85 is set to hit JB accounts next month as part of the first Spring 2011 shipment. Click through to get a better look and let us know if the design’s good enough to explain Dwayne Wade wearing em again, and pick up a pair right now from JBseller on eBay.

A number of Air Jordan Flight TR 97 colorways we’ve previewed here on Sneaker News have utilized ballistic nylon mudguards and now one has made its way to retail. We saw a couple pairs of Jordan CMFT Max 12s utilizing this material as well, and with the AJXII having dropped in 1997 (along with the initial AJXIII colorway, the basketball shoe upon which 3M-embedded ballistic nylon debuted), the loose association seems fitting for a shoe whose name belies its design elements. A simulacra of the Air Jordan Legacy released in a timely colorway; the all-black Flight TR ’97s just touched down at FinishLine but you can also find yourself a pair on eBay.
