Nike Hyperdunk 2010 – Tyreke Evans Kings Away PE | Available @ HoH

2010 NBA Rookie of the Year Tyreke Evans is finding it difficult to help the Sacramento Kings return to their playoff form of a decade ago.  Paired with fellow coached-by-Cal-for-one-year guy DeMarcus Cousins has yet to pay off in wins but the Kings have a solid foundation to build around and Evans himself has a firm base, whether home or away.  These Nike Hyperdunk 2010 PEs are crafted for games outside the Arco Arena and feature the ‘REKE HAVOC 13′ tongue insignia to finish off the purple/white-on-black look.  The closest location to SacTown is Daly City and there are now a total of 22 House of Hoops locations around the country where you can cop these.

Nike Air Max Courtballistec 3.3 + 2011 Australian Open Kit

“Rafa is one of the most dynamic athletes out there.”

He may not have as many Grand Slam titles as rival Roger Federer (yet), but Rafael Nadal is still easily one of tennis’ all time greats.  If the last several brilliant years are any indication, Rafa will be in the Australian Open finals wearing the LunarLon-equipped upgrade to his latest signature sneaker, the Nike Air Max Courtballistec 3.3.  Nadal beat Federer there in 2009 and both guys will have the added advantage of Nike’s superior tennis kits.  Click below to see a video with above-quoted designer Alex Chen discussing the Air Max Court Ballistec 3.3 and Rafa’s Aussie Open gear.  via EUKicks

Sneaker News Weekly Rewind 12/11 12/17

It was another massive week of Sneaker News as we begin to wind down on 2010. The hot topic of the week was the Air Jordan 2011; while images have been removed, the discussion was on rapid-fire pace as curious sneakerheads debated the design of the next shoe. Sneaker News also gave you a look at two upcoming sample colorways of Foamposite, which means the Foam-movement won’t be stopping anything soon. Also popping up this week were new colorways of both the LeBron 8 V2, Kobe VI, and Kobe VI iD options, Nike Basketball PEs, and upcoming Nike Basketball releases. Sneaker News also brought you live coverage of the Jordan CP3.IV Launch Event as well as the Nike Football Media Summit.

In other news, Sneaker News put the spotlight on a wedding with unique formal wear (hint: Jordans) in addition to usual PEs and Samples we show you. Gilbert Arenas and J.R. Smith led the charge in NBA Feet by wearing some great Air Jordans, while Ciara showed off her sneaker goodies during her album launch party in Hollywood. Another special Air Force 1 release is headed our way as a result of yet another collaboration with Medicom Toy. Rounding out the top stories of the week was Stash’s latest sneaker collaboration, a HoH-exclusive Air PR1 inspired by the original, and a detailed look at the upcoming Air Max Penny 1 in a ‘Suns’ colorway. And finally, Sneaker News launched the sixth installment of Michael Jordan Through The Years, focusing on the Air Jordan VI and Michael’s first championship. There’s a ton of hot topics floating around so check out the best of the best by reading through this week’s Sneaker News Weekly Rewind.

Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke Experience by Dsicle

According to the man himself, “My government name is Duane, my nickname is dsicle, I’m half Japanese, and I’m a graphic designer living in Dallas, Texas.”  Dsicle recently headed up north to NYC where he found out first hand just how engrossing the Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke experience can be.  And this wasn’t just any Bespoke; Dsicle had help from perhaps the two most notable AF1-heads in the country, Mayor and DJ Clark Kent on hand to help out with refining the final product.  These joints came out super classy with ‘Edgy Veggie’ basetball glove leather ont he toe and eyelets giving way to waterproof wool on the rear plus some rubberized Nappa leather on the Swoosh and heeltabs.  It’s one of the nicest Bespoke AF1s we’ve seen and the photos are just sick so click through to see more and let us know how these rank against the other Bespokes we’ve shown you here on Sneaker News.

Jordan CP3.IV – Media Unveiling | Event Recap

As you may have already seen yesterday on Sneaker News, Jordan Brand rolled out Chris Paul’s new CP3.IV model at a media event held at the New Orleans Arena. Those in attendance were taken through back hallways of the stadium and eventually led to the away team locker room, which for the day was converted into the home base for the CP3.IV introduction. Each member of the media entered to find a locker equipped with their name and a full stock of CP3 gear, including of course, a fresh new pair of Chris Paul’s upcoming fourth Jordan signature model. After suiting up for some surprise activities, the man himself, CP3 was introduced and sat down alongside the event’s host and the shoe’s designer, Jayson Mayden sitting in via Skype on a large flatscreen. Despite his recent departure from the Jordan Brand design team to pursue higher education at Stanford University, it was clear that his love for the project and friendship with Chris Paul made it no imposition to eagerly participate in the Q&A session.

Immediately, it became evident that, in addition to collaborating on the Jordan CP3 shoes, Mayden and Chris Paul have a tight personal relationship that translates into the design of the shoes. They got right into some of the back story of the new shoe, which according to Mayden (an avid toy collector) was loosely inspired by a Gundam-type figure that he came across on a visit to Asia. Another interesting piece of info came out as well, as Paul described how the idea to go with a lower silhouette on the CP3.IV came directly from Michael Jordan himself, who told Paul that as a lightning quick guard, he should look to explore more of a low-cut shoe. It was also revealed that there are some subtle design elements of the shoe inspired by the Air Jordan XIII, one of Paul’s all-time favorites. Chris also added that one of his all-time sneaker regrets was that he had an OG pair of XIII’s that was stolen from his school locker as a kid, so the nod to the shoe may help to fill the void of a traumatic memory that many of us have had the misfortune of experiencing.

A few times during the Q&A, Mayden made reference to Chris being a “motorcycle amongst cars.” With nearly unrivaled speed and agility on the floor, Chris Paul is able to weave in and out of spots and change directions at high speeds, and his shoes are specifically engineered to support that style of play. After getting the lowdown on the features and story behind the shoe, it was time to take them out for a test-drive as we hit the arena floor to compete in a recreated version of the NBA Skills Challenge that CP3 has been an All-Star weekend participant in three of the last five years. Media was tested on their shooting, dribbling and passing skills and timed for speed, creating some exciting competition between media members, as well as some laughable moments on almost everyone’s part. Keep reading for a look at the scene down in NOLA, and of course, some more pics of the CP3.IV, hitting Jordan retailers next month.

Air Jordan XIII (13) Retro – ‘Bulls’ | Release Reminder

Officially arriving tomorrow, December 18th, is the Air Jordan XIII in White, Black, and Varsity Red. This marks the second adult-sized Air Jordan XIII release of the month and the fourth overall for 2010 (if you haven’t been counting, it’s the Air Jordan XIII Premio, Flints, Altitudes, and these babies). As mentioned before on numerous occasions, the ‘Bulls’ XIII Retro is a true retro in that this colorway was never re-issued in its original state. With the Cool Grey XI release just a week away, some of you may be reticent with this purchase, but don’t make the same mistake twice (who here passed on the White/Red XII’s last year?). These will be available at Jordan Brand retailers like EXIT 36 but you can also pick up a pair now on eBay.

Style: 414571-101
Color: White/Black-Varsity Red

Nike LeBron 8 ‘Home’ Available @ House of Hoops

The Miami Heat take their scorching 10-game winning streak into New York tonight in the second of two of the biggest games Madison Square Garden has seen in years.  NBA Feet has seen LeBron James rocking black sneakers during road games so don’t expect to see these in the game but the Nike LeBron 8 ‘Home’ just became available at House of Hoops.  Nicknamed ‘Un-China’ for its resemblance to the ‘other’ white/red LeBron 8s, these joints offer a different look primarily thanks to some thick ‘piping’ lines around the Flywire areas as well as an extra red layer on the midsole.  Have a closer look by clicking on the jump below then grab yours from any HoH location nationwide, but be advised that both Foot Locker and Eastbay will also have these available at midnight in their respective online stores.

Packer Shoes x Reebok Pump Omni Zone ‘Nique’ Launch Recap

While Dominique Wilkins may not have been in the house this time for the release of the Packer Shoes x Reebok ‘Nique’ Pump sequel, that didn’t seem to stop anyone from coming down to cop their pair and show support. It was clear that after last year’s super-limited Pump 20 version, people out in the sneaker world were seriously feeling the concept and thrilled to see Nique get some long overdue signature shoe love. Numbered at 441 pairs (Wilkins’ jersey #21 x 21 years of the Pump), there were more to go around this time, but they were moving off the shelves on Tuesday as if they were just as limited as last time. Between the in-store and online sale, nearly the whole run sold out in a day along with the accompanying Vandal-A t-shirt, but if you might still be able to find a pair of the Niques in your size, so if you missed out, hit up Packer Shoes before they clear out for good. Keep reading for a look at the highlights from the release, and be sure to peep what quickly became the talk of the day – a red version of the shoe spotted on the feet of a member of the Packer crew. It’s looking like the eye-catching red edition might be for friends and family only, as quantities and availability are still somewhat of a mystery. Check out a cell phone pic that someone snapped after the jump and stay tuned for more on that intriguing development coming soon.

(IN)DECOROUS TASTE x Nike (I)D Shoe V2.0

Sneakerheads are on average far more fashion conscious than your average joe but we still probably need to offer a bit of background for this one to come into full view.  For those of you who aren’t frequent readers, (IN)DECOROUS TASTE is self-described as “Two parts documentation of the artistic process, one part images that interest . . . Authored by a 20-something with a more-is-more philosophy and a penchant for Bennison, bikers, lavish old interiors, rock crystal and rock stars.”

So Nike Trend and Energy Director Kristin Reiter got up with (I)D’s Lauren Tennenbaum and asked her to rebuild a sneaker.  Kristin said she wanted something along the lines of Lauren’s absolutely nutso spike heel and so she came up with something else to manifest the blog’s tagline, “What is good taste anyway?”  So how does a pair of Nike+ WMNS runners turn into one heel clicker of a red sequened wedge?  That’s a question for the Wizard of Oz himself, but we do have a photo summary of the process that follows your click on the jump below.
