2009′s Nike Air Griffey Max 1 retro in Varsity Royal and Volt was an instant sellout, a look popular enough to spawn a GS-sized run that should hit Nike Sportswear accounts soon after the new year. The above pictured pair of AGM1s isn’t 100% a GS model, but you’d have to at least lean that way with its high contrast pink/black/white colorup. Just think of all the girls in pink Boston Red Sox gear who could fit this into their baseball costumes! They’d probably be a big hit with the ladies even if they were your typical mens release, so have a closer look after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for updates. via Taobao

Dwyane Wade is Jordan Brand‘s premier endorsee, the guy who wears the Air Jordan flagship model as Michael’s own heir apparent. So when D-Wade showed up in practice and even a game this season rocking the Air Jordan Evolution ’85, some were wondering why he’d be wearing anything other than a Legacy model or perhaps his own upcoming signature. But actually the Evolution ’85 is intended to show what the Air Jordan 1 might look like were it crafted today, so it’s on equal footing (if not slightly more stable thanks to the forefoot strap) with the AJ Alpha 1. Jordan Brand crafted a Evolution 85 minisite so you can see how the AJ1 has evolved over the years. Click and drag your way thru history and let us know: are the Alpha 1 and Evolution ’85s more of a good thing or should the Air Jordan 1 remain untouched?

Earlier today we gave you a heads up on the NBA Feet highlight of yesterday night’s game, with the the top spot going to Gilbert Arenas and the Nubuck XII. Here’s a look at more NBA Feet around the league; the red-hot Mavericks cooled down the Heat by beating Wade, LeBron, and Co. down in Miami. LeBron James wore the LeBron 8 ‘Home’ while Wade wore his white/yellow/red Air Jordan 2010 PE. Charlotte faced off against the suddenly improved Wizards, with Tyrus Thomas wearing the Flint XIII, Stephen Jackson wearing the AJ Take Flight, and Nick Young wearing Kobe V iDs. Others included Daniel Gibson’s Soldier IVs, Chris Paul’s Orion Blue-toe CP3.IV, Courtney Lee’s LeBron 8, and back-from-injury Aaron Brooks in the Zoom Go Low. Check out the rest of the kicks after the jump and stay tuned to Sneaker News for more NBA Feet coverage! via ESPN.

Joe Budden(s?) bragged “they still call me Dirk in Dallas” eight years ago and only once during that span has the Marvericks’ big man averaged less than 25 PPG. And you can’t fault Dirk Nowitzki for a 24.6 point average in his 2006-07 MVP campaign, but you know that year’s first round playoff loss to Golden State still haunts him. But the Mavs might be poised for a deep playoff run with the NBA’s second best record and while their leader Dirk definitely deserves a signature, he like much of the league has chosen to ball in a Nike Hyperdunk 2010 PE. These joints are blocked similarly to his Germany WBF PE, which was an elegant sleeper hit that served to foreshadow the array of home PEs we’d see this year. This Dirk Nowitzki Hyperdunk 2010 PE is available now at both North Park Center and Town East Mall in Mesquite, plus each of the other twenty House of Hoops locations nationwide.

Right around the Lakers’ annual Christmas Day game two years ago, Nike Basketball shook up the world by unveiling the unprecedentedly lowcut Zoom Kobe IV. Not only was this soccer-style silhouette a departure from the vast majority of basketball sneakers and particularly signatures, but it was the first flagship model to be launched with NIKEiD customization available from day one. The low cut has carried Kobe to back to back championships, but either way it’s definitely a sign of good things to come that the Nike Zoom Kobe VI will also hit NIKEiD this Friday, December 24th. A limited release of 24 pairs will be available each day till then and even if you’re not one of the earliest birds, you can have a crack at creating colorway after colorway to get your design perfect in advance of the Christmas Eve launch. Click below to see a few we mocked up and let us know if you have any good ideas.

The Air Jordan CP3.IV was unveiled to the media last week and Sneaker News was on hand in New Orleans to bring you an exclusive first look at Chris Paul’s fourth Jordan Brand signature sneaker. The Hornets’ point guard appeared on stage with the tagline ‘Quick Can’t Be Caught’, a phrase that serves as the unifying theme for the CP3.IV’s marketing campaign. The first we’ve seen from the CP3.IV since Nawlins is this series of QCBC micro-mercials, each of which runs about six seconds and ends with Paul making a money play to the tune of a cash register bell. It’s music to your ears if you’re a basketball fan, so click below to see the entire ‘Quick Can’t Be Caught’ video series.

The Gilbert Arenas sneaker watch continues, but it’s time to set our eyes down south. Arenas, who was traded over the weekend from the Washington Wizards to the Orlando Magic, made his debut in royal blue and white last night against the Atlanta Hawks; not only does he have big shoes to fill as he was acquired as a scoring threat to help the Orlando offense, he has quite a reputation to live up to as well, because he’s now wearing ’1′ on his chest. The previous bearers of the Orlando ’1′ jersey were Tracy McGrady, who during his years with Orlando was arguably the best single player in the NBA at the time, and Penny Hardaway, a legend from the 90′s with a successful signature shoe line and a cult following even years after his retirement.
For his first night out with his new team, Gilbert wore the Air Jordan XII in black and university blue, often dubbed the ‘Nubuck’ colorway for the nubuck material on the upper. Many Sneaker News readers who have been following Arenas’ kicks guessed that he’d whip out Royal Foamposite Ones, and although he didn’t, we’re sure it’s coming soon. Check out Gilbert in action after the jump and let us know what you think he’ll wear next. via ESPN.

The Nike ACG Air Wildwood was a no-brainer when it came time for Complex.com to craft their 50 Greatest Nike Trail Shoes list and this classic offroad runner is back in a colorway that’s calm by All Conditions Gear standards. This pair starts with a black leather and nubuck base, adding select Concord and white accents for a look that’s almost like an un-Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’. We have yet to see an Air Jordan x ACG pack but with Jordan Brand continuing to expand its boot offerings, could it be that far off? The Wildwood would be a great candidate and this new colorway just popped up from 95soleman on eBay.
