For 2011, Jordan Brand will present the Air Jordan 6-17-23, a hybrid design combining two installments of the Air Jordan Legacy totaling ’23′. This is one idea that you might have seen coming from far away, but the execution was still a bit foggy. How would the JB designers produce a shoe that features an equal share of two Air Jordan models? The 6-17-23 seems to accomplish that quite well, as the silhouette of the shoe neither all-VI or all-XVII. One other colorway we showed you was one inspired by the Air Jordan VI ‘Carmine’, but this upcoming release (actually the first Air Jordan 6-17-23 we showed you) is something more akin to a popular Air Jordan VIII colorway (Aquatone). Hybrid designs always draw an implicit ‘line’ down the Jordan fanbase – which side do you stand on? Take a look at the details after the jump and let us know what you think. via Rstor.

LeBron isn’t the only signature-shoe holder with a ‘V.2′. Derrick Rose, who quickly rose from young stud to MVP contender, will debut his second signature shoe of the 2010-11 NBA Season, the adidas adiZero Rose 1.5, during the second half of the NBA Season. Like the LeBron 8 V.2, the adiZero Rose 1.5 features the same upper design but with a much more breathable and lighter package, using 360-degree Climacool to provide the added benefits. In addition to the altered upper is the removal of the ankle collar that was prominent in the adiZero Rose 1. Take a look at a detailed shots after the jump and expect to see these hit retail in Spring 2011.

The Nike Air 180 finds its place in the Nike Sportswear catalog as something of a cult favorite. There aren’t too terribly many new Air 180s being released these days, so discerning heads will find this new pair even tantalizing-er. They start with a perforated black leather base and add tonal ripstop nylon whose ‘grid’ gives an interesting contrast to the similarly squared-off perf pattern. And so it’s all about geometry in the dark until you add just a hint of South Beach flavor with bright hits on the tongue, heel and signature Air unit that also happens to be about a degree away from the OG Ultramarine colorway. It’s not every day you can get your hands on a new Air 180 and a black pair at that, so don’t wait; pre-order yours today from CrookedTongues. via SF

The NFL regular season is winding to a close and in just six weeks, there will be no more football to watch. However, the trainer season is 365 days long regardless of what sport you play, and the all-new Nike Trainer 1.2 Low that was previewed in Sneaker News’ coverage of the Nike Football/Training Preview in mid-December is a perfect option for those who are serious about exercise. The difference between the Low and the Mid that debuted earlier this year is the subtraction of a strap and of course a slightly lower cut, but the lower-end body frame remains the same. You might already seen the 1.2 Low in the Manny Pacquiao colorway, but this Dark Grey/Black-Volt colorway just hit Nikestore so head there to pick up your pair.

The Nike V-Series is set for a return in 2011 and it starts with these two colorways of the Nike Air Vengeance Plus with curious ACG-inspired motifs. Both new pairs features speckled midsoles and laces for the trail-ready appeal with upper material-combinations of suede, mesh, nylon, and synthetic leather. The speckled midsoles and laces off quite a contrast from the original running-inspired palettes, but it wouldn’t hurt to see more colorways of this classic – although you should expect more from the Nike Vengeance ACG Terra. Both newbie releases just hit Nikestore so continue reading for a closer look.

One could easily conclude the only single-digit number Kobe Bryant has in mind is ’6′, but it wasn’t all that long ago that we used to associate the Mamba with ’8′. Kobe rocked the snowman for the first decade of his NBA career and wore adidas for the majority of that period. Three Stripes can no longer use Bryant’s name or likeness, but his first signature shoe will soon see another retro release to remind us of KB’s 1997-98 ‘sophomore’ year. The adidas Crazy 8 (formerly ‘KB8′) is a legend in its own right, its unmistakable Feet You Wear traction and midsole pattern one of the more unique in history. Eastbay shows us that at least four colorways will hit next year, so which of these Kobe Bryant adidas retros would you pick?

Diana Taurasi is among the most highly decorated womens basketball players in history, and it’s fitting that she gets her fair share of Nike Basketball PEs. We saw back in August that a pinked out Nike Air Max LeBron VII PE of hers was sold at auction for a whopping three grand, so we can’t help but wonder the price tag you might put on a couple others. Taurasi won gold for USA Basketball and did so while wearing a red-toed AML7 during the recent FIBA Championship for Women, but is it possible a NFW version in black/pink would be even more highly sought-after? Click on the jump below to see both pairs and let us know which Air Max LeBron VII Diana Taurasi exclusive you prefer. via MySoleToKeep

One of the hottest buzzworthy topics over the summer was the upcoming Nike Zoom Kobe VI, and a leaked set images of an all-black Kobe-centric pair of low-cut basketball shoes was then thought to be Kobe sixth shoe. As time rolled by, the real Kobe VI was revealed, leaving that first shoe with a big question mark. Clearly a ‘lite’ version of the Nike Zoom Kobe, it was then believed to be either the next Zoom Kobe Dream Season or Zoom Kobe Make Sense – two non-signature Kobe sneakers that have had success in Asia.
Here’s a look at a ‘Lakers’ colorway of the same Kobe shoe; at this point, it is merely called the Nike Zoom Kobe Venomenon, alluding to the all-new nickname adopted by the Zoom Kobe VI. Whether or not this is in fact the next Dream Season or Make Sense release has not yet been determined, but this shoe was in fact spotted at a U.S. retailer, pointing to a possible wide release of a second Nike Kobe shoe in the states. Take another look after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for more information on this new development. via NT.
Update: The images were not taken in the U.S., but in the Philippines.

The adidas Pro Model 2010 is an old-school classic redone perfectly; it features adidas’ latest basketball tech and comfort without sacrificing any of the vintage adidas Pro Model styling, with the shell toe and three-stripes on the upper. The Pro Model 2010 is currently in use by six of adidas’ sixty-five NBA representatives and this new ‘City Pack’ could be the perfect way to branch out to consumers in particular regions. Check out the adidas Pro Model 2010 ‘City Pack’, which features team-specific colorways and graphics with team logos stamped on the inner face of the tongue. These are a bit snazzier than the adidas Phantom Mid NBA Pack that released earlier this year, and here we have a look at the Lakers, Celtics, Knicks, and Bulls renditions of the Pro Model 2010 City Pack (hopefully more teams are on the way). Take a detailed look after the jump and let us know which two teams could be rocking these Pro Models come NBA Finals time. via US10.
