It shows up so much less frequently than their other running legacy models that when you see a new New Balance 998 you know the Boston-based brand means business. The first pair we’ve seen since Japanese label NEXUSVII’s Timbo-style colorup is this Made in the USA New Balance M998GNR OG, a decidedly different look that also relies on neutral colors. This one’s mostly grey, with a healthy portion of tonality courtesy of the mesh toe, eyelets and 3M toe hit, with Toronto Raptors accents coming in on the midsole and heel counter. Check out more shots after the jump and pre-order this February release today from End.

Wrong title! It's 998, not 988.
