Something magical was in the air in Beaverton, Oregon in 1985, the year Nike debuted the Dunk and Air Jordan 1, two shoes that would go on to shape the sneaker culture for a quarter-century. These two classic b-ball sneakers share the same sole, but with the new Nike SB Dunk Pro, we’re getting an update for the first time since the BTTYS colorways first dropped. A reminder of the tagline “Delivered from the future in a cardboard box,” the Nike SB Dunk Pro 1985-2011 book is literally sandwiched between the new Dunk Pro SB sole on its front and the old sole on its rear cover. The book takes you back in time to see the skaters who helped make this shoe the cornerstone for this current wave of sneakerhead culture, and lacking any information on its release we’re glad to share some more shots from its pages after the jump. Click through and let us know what you think, then check out the newly redesigned Nike SB website.

Did anyone notice the distressed low samples in that picture, just sitting there like they're no big deal?
Did anyone notice the veneer co.jps in that same picture, sitting there as if they're SB dunks? upon closer examination, perhaps even with a fat tongue??
Or did anyone notice that the ostriches in that picture are samples, with really distinct black "balls" on the midpanel instead of pure ostrich leather?
the book is really unimpressive in person, but my oh fucking my, the samples and other rarities in these pictures are a real gem. and straight from nike!! take notes

I said the same thing, but it's not a real book. It's dressed up really nice with a hard cover and all but it's just a mini ten to twelve page book of pictures with some new technology info. I went into concepts the other day and they gave me one (the mini book inside the book)….

I wish i could go into the future and find out what shoes i should cop now for retail before they become heat.

looking back on the pink box days of SB, i think it was really easy to tell then which pairs would flop and which would take off. all you had to do was have good style and common sense
