The traditions embedded into Chinese culture by the Chinese Zodiac have spilled over to the West for many, many years; astrological horoscopes and other lighter forms of belief are somewhat popular in Western culture, and although Americans don’t follow the Chinese Zodiac with orthodox methods, it’s still recognized for its significance and impact. For 2011, the Year of the Rabbit, Nike has created this angelic Air Force 1 design, drawing inspiration from one of China’s most long-lived and recognizable candies and paying tribute to the Chinese Zodiac animal of the year. After a release in Asia, the Nike Air Force 1 ‘Year of the Rabbit’ will arrive at U.S. retailers this January 29th, being available at the most top-tier Nike Sportswear accounts including 21 Mercer and House of Hoops.
