Nike Sportswear Dunk Low ‘Vintage Pack’ – Spring 2011

While models like the Blazer and other Nike Sportswear favorites getting the vintage treatment, it’s somewhat shocking we haven’t seen any new Nike Dunk Low VNTG releases lately.  The last vintage Dunks to hit retail were the 2008 BTTYS Highs, so these actually might be the first VNTG Dunk Lows ever!  But as you might expect with pre-yellowed soles and laces designed to give off an antique look, the colorways are quite familiar, with nods to the Goldenrods, Ultramans and maybe even the St. John’s edition.  They are indeed retros of a late ’90s CO.JP (Japan-exclusive) pack, but would you rather break em in yourself?  Click through for a better look and let us know what you think about the Nike Dunk Low Vintage Pack.  via ST

Supra Skytop II Air Max 95

Supra is at its heart a skateboarding brand, but they’re fully aware of the way the sneaker game has played out over the last couple decades and never shy away from celebrating the greats.  We’ve seen countless Air Jordan-inspired colorways and the Supra Skytop II‘s tongue was clearly taken from the AJVI, but here’s their first homage to Nike Running.  The Skytop II ‘Air Max 95′ is such an obvious choice when you compare its tiered upper to the AM95 and while there’s no visible cushion, neon green accents come in on the laces and foxing band to complete the look.  A respectful nod or more Ape Jordan ripoffery?  Click through to get a better look and let us know what you think.

NBA Feet: Gilbert Arenas Air Jordan VI Oreo

Yesterday night, against the Detroit Pistons, wore the Air Jordan VI Retro ‘Oreo’ that was released in 2010. This is the second pair of Retros that Gilbert broke out for an NBA Game; not long ago, ‘ol Gil wore a crispy pair of the Air Jordan VI Retro Low in White/University Blue. Gilbert’s Air Jordan selections for this season have been impressive at the very least; Space Jams, Premio IX, the aforementioned low-top VI, and Black/University Blue XIVs – the outstanding list goes on and on. Arenas’ sneaker game has certainly been unpredictable – what do you think he’ll wear next? Check out Gilbert in action after the jump and make sure you vote for what you think Gilbert will rock next! via ESPN.

fragment design x Nike Zoom All Court Low

fragment design tends to echo Hiroshi Fujiwara’s ‘clean’ leanings in collaborations with Nike Sportswear, so after the wacky mismatched fragment x Dunk High pack, it was only natural to slip into something a bit more quiet.  The fragment design x Nike Air Zoom All Court Low is the epitome of old school racquet sport styling, each of three pairs going for all white canvas on the upper with a white sole and just a hint of color.  Gone is the typical side panel Swoosh, leaving the only branding on these to the heel and a fragment logo tongue tag.  Click through to get a better look at these Chinese-exclusives — they’re set to drop on February 5th in the Far East, but if you could cop a pair, how do these rank against Fujiwara’s previous works?  via FRESHNESS

Supra TK Society Mid Spring 2011

Chad Muska might be the brand’s cornerstone, but is there any skater signed to Supra hotter than Terry Kennedy?  TK has an ever expanding selection of signature sneakers, the third of which is this new Supra Society Mid.  Looking somewhere between the Thunder an a ‘cab-forward’ take on the Vaider, the Society Mid is considerably more conservative than the ultra high TK Society, and the first three colorways are about as simple as it gets.  Click through to get a better look at white tumbled leather, black suede and grey canvas, then leave a comment to tell the world which one is best.  via HS

Air Jordan XII Low ‘Taxi’ – 2011 Retro | New Images

Hailing a taxi can be tough at peak hours, but here’s one that you’ll be able to keep forever, assuming you can get a pair.  The Air Jordan XII Low ‘Taxi’ offers us a glimpse at the shoe Mike wore during 1996-97 regular season home games.  Those were, of course, the OG midtop version of the Twelve, this being a retro of the first run of AJXII Lows back in 2004 (after the Air Jordan XI LE, Jordan Brand skipped a year before offering the AJXIII Low in summer ’98).  So these are sorta like a ‘missing’ shoe in some ways, but here’s hoping that you’ll be able to get a pair when they hit retail later this year.  Click through to get a better look and let us know if low is a go.  via in52

Vans California 31 – Black + Grey

The Vans California Collection introduces the 31, a retro-inspired classic that features simple tooling and a lifestyle-ready appeal. That seems to be the basic formula for Vans’ off-skate labels and the success its experienced (thanks to the help of some great releases of the Chukka Del Barco and Switchback) isn’t much of a surprise, and as it continues that formula with the Vans California 31, we just might have another classic on our hands. Take for example these two new colorways; both feature suede uppers with yellow accents at the heel and toe. Both can be purchased at select Vans California retailers like David Z in Manhattan, NYC, so check them out below and let us know what you think. via RonnieFieg.

adidas MEGA Soft Cell RH – Bluebird – Fresh Blue

Recent adidas Originals drops featuring oversized Torsion bars have gotten most of the attention, but don’t forget about the ‘other’ half of Three Stripes’ MEGA collection.  The adidas Originals MEGA Soft Cell RH exposes the cushioning system found in many of the brand’s staple models, giving this pair a look like the Nike Air Max 93 or some other wraparound Max Air cushion.  But a closer look reveals a bulbous red interior that gives these their own identity and looks particularly sweet next to a white midsole and the tonal blue upper.  Click through for more shots and grab a pair today from select adidas accounts like Schuh-You.

atmos x New Balance H574J – Black – White Dots

Sneaker News has noted on what seems to be an increasingly frequent basis that adidas Originals seems to be leaning back toward the high-contrast looks that hearkens back to the mid ’00s.  But given their significant presence in Japan, it’s no shock that the team of atmos and New Balance will also be pushing the curve, and this new pair of NB H574J trail runner hybrids is among the more attention grabbing we’ve seen of late.  These joints only use three colors, but applying white polkadots to a black base plus emerald green accents means they’ll probably get more headturns than a rainbow.  Click through to see more and let us know if these are suitable for the transition from winter into warmer weather.

Reebok Insta Pump Fury Tent Pack

We just saw a pack of Reebok Insta Pump Furys ‘warning’ you with their crazy patterned uppers, but there’s very little to worry about with these new joints.  Not only are the two-toned colorways from the Insta Pump Fury ‘Tent Pack’ easy to rock with a casual wardrobe, but they won’t collapse in on you when you’re trying to put them on like their muse.  These are somewhat similar to the nylon flight jacket joints we saw last year but something about these colorways just screams outdoors.  Click through to get a better look and let us know which pack of Furys is best.  via Gettry

Air Jordan 2011 Year of the Rabbit

2010 marked the celebration of the 25th year of the Air Jordan Legacy; years and years of history and groundbreaking footwear design has allowed Jordan Brand to become the benchmark of fashioned-forward and high-performance basketball footwear, and as we begin the next twenty-five years of Air Jordan, we can only expect an equal amount of tradition and iconoclastic brand movement. For 2011, Jordan Brand will release a limited-edition Air Jordan 2011, celebrating the Year of the Rabbit; Sneaker News showed you a preview of the packaging of this special release, and here we get a look at the entire ‘Year of the Rabbit’ set, which includes the luxurious Air Jordan 2011 shoe and special apparel in the form of a varsity jacket and a t-shirt.

The Air Jordan 2011 ‘Year of the Rabbit’ features a dark grey upper mudguard with the molded graphic adopting a slightly darker shade for a rich contrast, with gold contrast stitching. Additional details include a red inner lining and tongue with gold accents on the branding and lacing, a gold-glittered translucent outsole, and red Jumpman on the bottom sole. The grey Air Jordan 2011 Varsity Jacket features a number of patches that serve as tributary crests, pointing out Michael Jordan’s MVP trophies, scoring titles, championships, and much more. The Air Jordan ‘Year of the Rabbit’ t-shirt features ‘Brooklyn’ across the chest with a special crest logo as well. Continue reading for a full detailed gallery of the Air Jordan 2011 and its accompanying apparel and stick with Sneaker News for more updates on this exciting release.

Sneaker News Fantasy Basketball: Week 13 Recap

With the All-Star break right around the corner, at this point in the season, you pretty much know what you’re going to get from most teams and players, but a second half slump is always a dangerous possibility. Through 13 weeks in the FLuD Watches “Barksdale & Bell” fantasy basketball league, Team SneakerNews stands at an impressive 11-1-1 in head-to-head play, good for second place in the league at the moment and showing no signs of slowing down. And while a fall-off is certainly possible, we like what we’re seeing from the squad and this past week’s 6-3 win over the Rocksmith Ninjas was the latest evidence. We take on league commissioner FLuD Watches this week, so we’ll be out to keep up our winning ways and ruin their fantasy week. Check out the Team SN roster and league standings after the jump and check back next week for the latest results.

TEAM SNEAKERNEWS WEEK 13 MVP
Antawn Jamison – A perennial across-the-board fantasy contributor, we expected big things from Jamison when we drafted him this year, but so far his time in Cleveland has been a big disappointment. That said, let’s hope this week was a sign of things to come as Antawn averaged 25 points, 7 rebounds and 2 3PTM per game over the last week of NBA action.
