If you’re an avid Sneaker News reader, you’ll know that we’ve shown the White/Cement Grey Air Jordan III a number of times. The fact is, this shoe is one of the greatest Air Jordans of all time and certainly attributed to one of the most memorable moments if not THE most memorable moment in NBA history. The man flew from the stripe and not only dunked the ball, but did it with overflowing ‘swag’ and style. Call it ‘hype’ if you’d like, but the White/Cement III deserves all the attention it’s been getting, which might explain why Jordan Brand decided to release these with a special box inspired by the original as well as a nostalgic hangtag. This is one can’t miss release, so tomorrow, January 22nd, be sure to grab yours from select Jordan retailers like Extra Butter and Dr Jays or get yourself a pair now on eBay.

The Nike SB Zoom Omar Salazar is one of the many kicks that just missed the Sneaker News Top 30 cut, but it was certainly one of the best new Nike SB releases of 2010. It’s the first Nike SB skate shoe to feature Flywire on the upper, but another interesting note about the Salazar is the removal padding from the tongue, giving you, the skater, the option to go thin or thick. This new February 2011 colorway features a nice color combination of Dark Obsidian and Sport Red with a sweet gum sole on the bottom end – somewhat of a similar colorway to the Nike Air Max 1 ‘Omega Pack’ releases of mid-2010. Check out these new images below and pick up a pair now at Flatspot.

It was quite another week for Sneaker News, so let’s get right down to it. Martin Luther King Day was the focus of a huge collection of sneakers, some of which were featured in our NBA Feet segments. One of those MLK/Black History releases is the Air Jordan III, which was just one of the many Air Jordan new stories that surfaced. Sneaker News gave you a look at the upcoming Air Jordan VII Bordeaux as well as the Cardinal releases, as well as a look at some great upcoming releases for Fall 2011. The Nike Zoom Kobe VI also has big plans in store, with new inclusions of the special LA Pack being revealed this week, and Nike co-representative LeBron James also made noise with the announcement of an animated series based on The LeBrons. While we’re on the topic of ‘animated’, this week’s Jeremy Scott headlines were definitely one to take a peek at, because he’s got some even crazier stuff i store. In other adidas news, an all-new Star Wars collabo with adidas incited some excitement from our readers as well.
Nike SB has been enjoying somewhat of a renaissance, with the celebration of the history of the Nike SB Dunk being the focus of the year. There are plenty of other non-Dunk SB releases to look forward to as well. Moving on to retro-inspired Nike releases, a Fuse-uppered Nike Dunk incited some interesting response, leading our readers to believe that more in’Fuse’d Sportswear releases will be headed our way. Sneaker News also gave you a look at an exciting semi-new colorway of the Air Trainer SC II for Summer and two more Foamposite releases for Fall 2011. Something that’s available right now is the Steven Alan x NSW collection, featuring four classic Nike Sportswear models constructed in premium materials. DJ Clark Kent brought some attention to himself when he showed off his Air Max TR1+ 360 done up in the unmistakable ’112′ motif. And finally, Sneaker News has finally reached number XI in our Michael Jordan Through The Years Feature; for a shoe as magnanimous, it was only necessary to split this particular installment into volumes, with the first one going live this week. Check out all that went down this week in the world of kicks by checking out the latest Sneaker News Weekly Rewind.

We’ve seen Nike’s Fuse material be used on its athletic footwear, like the Nike Hyperfuse, Nike Trainer 1.2 Mid Fuse, and Air Max 2011, but does it make sense to use it on the Sportswear model? Sneaker News gave you a first look at the Nike Dunk High Fuse at the beginning of this week, and the overall reception to was positive. In fact, this isn’t the first Sportswear model to feature Fuse; at the end of August 2010, Sneaker News gave you an exclusive look at the Nike Air Max 1 Fuse, which received high praise all around. What other Sportswear models will Nike give a Fuse treatment? Should we expect a Nike Air Force 1 Fuse soon? Check out these new images below and let us know what you think of this new hybrid design. via Kenlu.

After Sneaker News first dropped images of these bad boys, the Cool Grey CMFTs have finally unfolded into the 3M-mudguard, solid-grey outsole version we see here. At first, there was no indication of a 3M-reflective treatment, and the outsole was expected to be a solid gum color. JB decided to spice things up by adding the reflective material on the mudguard (easily coaxed into view when hit with a strong flash) and switching out the outsole color. Another peek at the traction pattern and you’ll elephant print in different proportional scales, from a large scale at the forefoot to a miniaturized version at the heel. Check out these new images of the Jordan CMFT Viz Air 11 in Cool Grey below; Kickscrew has them available, but you can also get your pair on eBay.

It would be nice to own a zillion pairs of Asics Gel Lyte IIIs. This May 2011, you’ll have that chance…sort of. Here’s a look at the Zillion x Asics Gel Lyte III, set for a May 2011 debut; for those of you unfamiliar with Zillion, it is a Japanese-based shoelace company that typically packages their fare in small wooden containers. In fact, you might even remember their Kimono-inspired laces of mid-2009, which featured plenty of vibrant and lively colors – a stark contrast to their rendition of the Asics Gel Lyte III. Featuring a tan/cream suede upper with white mesh and the Zillion logo stamped on the heel, the Zillion x Asics Gel Lyte III speaks just as many volumes with this clean and simple colorway. Again, May 2011 is the ETA, so take a look below and let us know what you think. via HS.

One of the faces of Nike Basketball in the mid-late 90′s was none other than Michigan’s Chris Webber, the do-it-all Power Forward who planted his roots in Golden State and Washington and blossomed into a MVP-caliber player out in SacTown. C-Webb was always outfitted in some of the sickest Air Max basketball kicks, like the Air Max Sensation (during his days as a Bullet). The Air Max Sensation 2011 borrows the Sensation-al design and vamps it up with carbon fiber panels, a breathable mesh upper construction, and a full-length basketball-specific Max Air cushion in order to coax out the inner C-Webb from those who choose this shoe for basketball. this new Dark Grey/Black-Retro-White colorway is available now at Nikestore so take another look below and let us know what you think of this revamped 90′s classic.

adidas Originals continues to push us back toward a pre-recession view of the world with their latest release, a reminder of a time when overdyed denim and high-contrast everything were all the rage. The adidas Originals Metro Attitude Logo borrows a massive Trefoil from one of Jeremy Scott’s ObyO M-Attitude variants, and this pair is considerably brighter than the black/white joints we saw, its shiny purple upper serving to accentuate the reptile-like texture on the heel and toe. This has gotta be one of the wildest looking sneakers to release this year and you can grab your pair right now from TGWO.

Last year’s Nike Dunk Canvas Pack featured a number of Dunk High and Low colorways with canvas uppers in tonal upper colorways. For Spring 2011, the Air Max 90 will receive a similar treatment as seen in these three all-new upcoming releases. Coming in three colorways of Black, Medium Grey, and Obsidian, these Air Max 90 Canvas release also feature the rounded lace-eyelets as well as varsity red Max Air units and upper accents. Sneaker News first showed you the black colorway of the Air Max 90 Canvas back in December and we compared them to the black ‘faux-denim’ Air Max 90 from the Air Attack Pack of last year, but it appears that these three releases fall in line with its own unique theme. Expect these to hit Nike Sportswear retailers soon, so take a look below and let us know which colorway you like best.

The traditions embedded into Chinese culture by the Chinese Zodiac have spilled over to the West for many, many years; astrological horoscopes and other lighter forms of belief are somewhat popular in Western culture, and although Americans don’t follow the Chinese Zodiac with orthodox methods, it’s still recognized for its significance and impact. For 2011, the Year of the Rabbit, Nike has created this angelic Air Force 1 design, drawing inspiration from one of China’s most long-lived and recognizable candies and paying tribute to the Chinese Zodiac animal of the year. After a release in Asia, the Nike Air Force 1 ‘Year of the Rabbit’ will arrive at U.S. retailers this January 29th, being available at the most top-tier Nike Sportswear accounts including 21 Mercer and House of Hoops. Check with your local spot if you’re interested and take a look at these new detailed images below from Kenlu, and get a hold of a pre-order now on eBay.

The reaction to a recently revealed Medium Grey denim Nike Dunk High Premum was decidely positive, and while the look isn’t super-obvious, there was indeed a hint that these are part of a larger collection. They have the same French flag heel loop as these new pinstriped Premium Dunks, an element that adds a silver rooster to prove it’s a part of Nike’s newly unveiled French Football Federation collection. Quite ironic to see the French collection feature a Yankees-like look, but it’s satisfying all the same and you can grab yours today from select Nike Sportswear retailers like Proper.
