To coincide with the retro release of the OG colorway of the Air Jordan II last spring, Vandal-A came strong with an accompanying t-shirt that took a different approach than many of the sneaker release matching tees that we’re used to seeing. Rather than matching the color scheme, Vandal-A took a more subtle approach with the AJII shirt, using a simple black and white graphic featuring a classic shot of Mike in the II’s inside of a large number “2.” The concept was definitely appreciated by sneaker-hungry consumers and sold out fast, so for the White/Cement Air Jordan III release this month, Vandal-A will be bringing back the idea with a new spin, this time featuring a great shot of MJ in the III’s with a large number “3″ providing the backdrop. If you prefer this more sophisticated approach to sneaker related t-shirt design, pick yourself up a shirt now at Vandal-A.com, and if you want to get your cement Air Jordan IIIs early as well, beat the release madness and grab a pair now on eBay.

It’s sure to evoke memories of the ‘Cali’ Dunk Low Pro SB upon which it most famously appeared back in 2004, but if you look at it with a fresh set of eyes, the best way to describe Nike’s Pecan color is simply ‘brown’. Pecan is almost like the bizarro Infrared, its rich earthy tone capable of overpowering pretty much every other color with which it’s paired. Take for example this new Nike Air Max 90. These joints have one of the highest contrast combos imaginable with black and royal blue leathers meeting in the middle, yet they take a back seat when sandwiched between slices of Pecan. Nike has a tendency to pay attention to detail to an excessive degree, and the Nike Lunar Orbit+, which appears somewhat simple in construction, is a perfect example of how exacting Nike can get. The upper construction is certainly a unique one, featuring an aerodynamic upper, an off-centered zipper with 3M reinforcement, Beaverton, OR GPS data, and miniature yet attention-grabbing swoosh on the lateral toe. Comfort certainly isn’t an issue, as the Lunar Orbit+ features a super-breathable and lightweight three-layer mesh upper with the award-winning Lunar cushioning. Designer Nathan Vanhook (with whom Sneaker News had the opportunity to interview) had the classic Nike Tech Pack jacket in mind, and certainly knocked one out of the park for Nike Sportswear with the sleek Lunar Orbit+ design. Kix-Files just got in three great colorways – Black, Cool Grey, and Challenge Red – so take a look at these sweet images and pick up a pair now.

From all the special inspired colorways we’ve seen from the Kobe VI, the ‘Glass Blue‘ doesn’t seem to fit in anywhere just yet. It’s definitely not a Lakers colorway, nor is attributed to the LA Pack. It certainly isn’t a Team-based colorway like the Varsity Royal and Varsity Red pairs are, and the combination of Glass Blue, Grey, Orange, and Yellow seems like a random mix instead of a deliberate colorway. The inspiration behind the Glass Blue colorway has yet to be revealed, but many of readers have already warmed up to the chaotic colorway (and no, it’s not another ‘Chaos’ colorway). Another detailed look at this late-January release from in52 lies ahead, so give them a quick viewing and let us know if you have plans on copping these.

Here’s yet another example of adidas Originals getting back to a bright, high-contrast style that helped them carve a sizeable niche circa 2005-2008. The adidas Questar hearkens back to a simpler time by using a somewhat complicated colorblocking pattern to maximize the ’80s era tech feel. There are just a ton of angular lines on these and more triangles on the distinctive eye placket than your average bridge. Add in an entirely reflective 3M Scotchlite upper and you’ve got one of the more visually impactful designs we’ve seen this year. It’s not very often that Nike releases both mens and womens colorways within the same ‘Pack’ like it did with the Air Max ACG Pack. There was no overlap in colorways but what tied them together was the ACG branding, speckled laces, and winter-ready tough mesh used on the upper. One thing to note about the women’s colorways of the Air Max 90 ACG Pack is that it doesn’t feature the ACG tongue label like the men’s releases do, but these do fetaure the reverse-colored laces and upper materials. This new colorway of Medium Grey and Varsity purple adds a hot pink accent with green and yellow laces; Kickscrew has these available right now so take a look at this new release after the jump and watch for these to hit Nike Sportswear accounts near you soon.

2010 saw a slew of great Asics Gel Lyte III collaborations (largely in part due to Ronnie Fieg), but here’s to an even more potent 2011 for the Gel Lyte III. Here’s a look at the HUF x Asics Gel Lyte III, currently slated for a June 2011 release; the colorway is inspired by HUF’s American roots as the colorway adopts a patriotic red, white, and blue theme with a starry insole and HUF’s ‘H’ logo stamped on the lateral heel of each shoe. HUF’s rendition of the split-tongued Gel Lyte III should definitely be on your radar when it drops later in the Summer 2011 season, so take look below and let us know what you think. via HS.

If the Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals Teddy Bear turned your head, get ready for another neckbreaker. Slated for a Fall 2011 release, the cuddly black-and-white bear is used as the focus of Jeremy Scott’s next un’bear’ably cute release, using a fuzzy panda bear on this upcoming collaboration with adidas Originals. The Teddy Bear was undoubtedly one of the most commotion-causing sneakers, inciting responses of “are you kidding me?” as well as “I need these!”. Again, these are expect to drop this Fall with the rest of the Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals Footwear Collection of that season, so check out the images below and lt us know what you think. via HS.

The upcoming Nike Zoom Kobe VI ‘LA Pack’ represents some of the breathtaking highlights of the city, but here’s a custom pair of Kobe VIs that gives props to another Los Angeles trademark that might not put the city in a positive light. Using the Kobe VI Black/Del Sol as the base, sneaker customizer Emmanuelabor has created the Nike Zoom Kobe VI ‘Smog’, which points to LA’s infamous smog conditions that are caused by high vehicular traffic and industrial growth in the area. Fortunately for us, ‘Smog’ has translated well to this pair of Kobes, as the upper snakeskin has been modified to featured a grey-to-black gradient, with a reflective purple layer beneath the TPU skin. You may be familiar with Emmanuelabor’s other work, like his two Air Jordan IV customs and even the Eggplant Foamposite Air Force 1 Low, so where does this Kobe VI rank amongst his creations? Would you cop these if they released? Check out the detailed shots below and let us know what you think.

Paul Pierce’s signature line with Nike Basketball remains as one of the most head-scratching enigmas of the sneaker scene over the last few years. Pierce, who has spent his entire career with the Boston Celtics after a successful stint at Kansas, took home NBA Finals MVP honors in 2008 and continues to be among the best in the G/F category in the game. Nike has given Pierce his props even before his championship year, but still, a men’s release has yet to occur. The truth about ‘The Truth’ is that his fanbase isn’t as far-reaching as other superstars like Kobe Bryant or LeBron James, but the Black History Month PE of his Nike Air Legacy 2 will definitely turn a few heads. Featuring a Black/Gold colorway with patent leather hints on the upper, gold accents on the swoosh, P2 logo on the tongue, and his ’34′ jersey number on the heel with the BHM logo beneath it, the Air Legacy 2 Black History Month PE is certainly one of the standouts of the Nike Basketball BHM collection. Check out these detailed images after the jump and watch for these this upcoming Black History Month. via SoleCollector.

Kevin Durant has emerged as the most prolific scorer in the game because despite his friendly demeanor and personality off the court, he’s all business once he touches that hardwood. We’ve seen some punchy color-combos of the Nike Zoom KD III like the tonal-yellow Christmas colorway, but perhaps its this Blackout colorway that truly mirrors KD’s focus when he’s got the ball in his hands. Durant’s current season has him dropping over 28 a game and with a comfortable lead in the scoring category while leading the OKC Thunder to one of the best records in the league and atop the Northwest Division, and the Zoom KD III takes credit for providing in-game comfort for KD’s feet. The Blackout KD III will drop at Nike Basketball retailers like Eastbay this February 4th so take a look below and let us know what you think.

The challenge in wearing denim sneakers is that you really don’t want to be dealing with similar but slightly different shades. It’s just like the select few who can match a denim jacket and jeans — you have to know what you’re doing and the key is contrast. Check out these new Nike Dunk High Premiums, which are crafted in a Medium Grey denim with white, grey and black accents to ensure you can wear these with pretty much any blue jeans, plus white or select colors if they’re still passable — but be careful with greys. They can also add a rugged punctuation to your khakis and shorts as we move into spring, and you can grab a pair now from Nike Sportswear dealers like Titolo.
