2011 is the Year of the Air Jordan III, with a number of releases already confirmed and scheduled for the twenty-sixth year of the Air Jordan. With Jordan Brand making more of a concerted effort to appeal to the generation of young girls, this Girls-only Air Jordan III, set for an April 2011 release, should further stamp the Jumpman brand into girls’ footwear repertoire. This upcoming Air Jordan III for girls features a Bulls-friendly combination of white, light grey, and red, which may remind you of an original colorway that never released (think White/Cement III with a red heel bumper instead of black). What do you think of the colorway? Check out the extra images below and stick with Sneaker News for more information on this Air Jordan release. via ruvilla.

Knick fans definitely had their calendars circled for the Knicks’ showdowns against the Miami Heat this season, but last night, all eyes were on Dwyane Wade and his all-new kicks. Dwyane Wade had an exceptional all-around game tallying 34 points, 16 rebounds, and 5 assists, but was outshined by the Air Jordan 2011 ‘Blackout’ he had on his feet. Jordan Brand kept this colorway under wraps as it was not featured in the Air Jordan 2011 Unveiling Showcase, only to have it saved for a worthy Big Apple debut during last night’s game. Check out Dwyane Wade in action after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for more information regarding is sweet new Air Jordan 2011 colorway, and let us know what you think of the ‘Blackout’ colorway. via ESPN.

It seems like the Black/Gold colorway seen in the Nike/Jordan/Converse Black History Month will carry over to a few Nike Sportswear released for February as well. Sneaker News recently showed you the Air Max 24/7 in Black/Metallic Gold, so here’s a look at a Women’s Air Force 1 Low colorway following the similar motif; it features a black synthetic leather upper with a metallic gold swoosh and lace dubrae. The story behind the Black/Gold Black History Month 2011 colorway is that the black color represents the color of basketball shoes worn by black basketball players in the 60′s, while the gold represents glory and success of its people. Check out the images below and rep Black History Month in style with these new releases, which just dropped at Kickscrew.

The Nike Air Footscape and its variations have become the world’s most famous asymmetrically-laced sneakers over the past several years, but here’s a new release that pushes the avant garde bar even higher. The Nike Lunar Orbit+ woulda been right at home on the Merry Pranksters’ school bus, cos these joints take unconventional design further than pretty much any runner we can remember. They go with a Footscape-aping off-center look, but it’s a zipper instead of laces and the raised diamond aerodynamic pattern makes for perhaps the most innovative and aesthetically pleasing new runners this year. Challenge Red and Black pairs are featured in more photos after the jump, so click thorugh to get a better look and stick with Sneaker News for word on the US release. via LTD Online

Rajon Rondo is truly a pass-first point guard, but don’t underestimate his secondary tools. He can rebound, he can pick your pocket, he can penetrate the lane, and score the occasional bucket when needed, which is why Ragin’ Rajon Rondo is one of the best point guards in the league. It’s no wonder why Nike uses Rondo as the ideal model for the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse, because he embodies the soul of the shoe with his quickness. Among all the Hyperfuse PEs we’ve seen from the 2010-11 NBA Season thus far, Rondo’s is quite unique because his PE logo consists of his jersey number alone. The number 9 is noticeable from any angle, and these new joints he’s been rocking (since spraining his ankle against the Knicks a few weeks back) have him back on track. Check out these new images below and stick with Sneaker News for more Nike Basketball PE updates.

So we know that Nike Basketball has more NBA players on its roster than all other brands combined, but as has been the case since 1985, you’ll see the Air Jordan play a huge role at the All Star Game. Jordan Brand has three of the ten ASG starters reppin’ the Jumpman three Sundays from now and right at the top of that list is Eastern Conference guard Dwayne Wade in the Varsity Royal Air Jordan 2011. The baller formerly known as Flash is JB’s lone east coast presence, with signature stars Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul lacing ‘em up for the red team. The Western Conference’s starting small forward will get a version of the Melo M7 that has roughly the opposite white/red balance as his point guard’s CP3.IV. You’ll be able to get all of them during that special third week of February when the Melos and CP3s drop on the 17th and the AJ2011s hit two days later to start the ASG festivities with a bang. Click through to get a better look at all three and let us know how they rank versus the other NBA All Star Game player exclusive sneakers we’ve profiled here on Sneaker News.

Nike Sportswear debuted a gladiator-style sandal for women a couple years back, and considering we haven’t seen a new pair since summer 2009, the time is right for its sequel. Enter the Nike WMNS Gladiateur 2, a slightly higher take on this familiar theme with four new colorways all sporting white Swooshes. Pairs in black, Wolf Grey, Bog Green and Concord all feature black soles and silver metal eyelets, and you can see photos of the entire collection after the jump, then grab a pair from NikeStore. via nitro:licious
