As zealous purists are prone to do, plenty of people decried Gourmet for its initial releases. ‘Ape Jordan’, they mocked, but what folks may have misunderstood about this brand is that they chose these models in particular as a declaration of modern standards. Just think about how many brands have a plimsoll, a chukka, a boat shoe or some combination of these and then it might not seem so crazy after all to found one brand on the back of an easily recognizable design from another. But now that Gourmet is fully established as consistently offering new and innovative lifestyle designs, they’re free to take some crazy chances like this new Dignam model set to release in late 2011. This shoe is pretty much unlike anything we’ve ever seen: a ripstop nylon ‘baggie’/shroud that loosens its elastic toggle to reveal a mesh vamp, and all that atop a LunarLon-looking sole. This one’s for the brave only and you can see more shots when you click on the jump below. via FRESHNESS

great concept and could make great winter shoes if they beefed up the sole.

Jesus, I thought adults used this site, great middle school insults, what makes these gay? The fact that there different or maybe the fact that they have better materials and a smaller price tag than jb's shitty quality shoes. At least gourmet is thinking outside of the box unlike every other shoe company.
