For our daily readers who want to recap all the top news of the week, or the busy working folk who rely on us for all the best in sneaker news, Weekly Rewind offers the perfect summary for all the week’s sneaker happenings in one fell swoop. Starting off, Sneaker News reported the potential release of eleven great Air Jordan Retros, which incited hundreds of responses from our readers. Sneaker News also offered first-hand coverage of the Nike Basketball 2011 NBA All-Star Pack, which went down at the Nike Vault in Los Angeles. One of the guests of honor was Kobe Bryant himself, who later appeared on the Conan O’Brien show. Nike’s other superstar LeBron James made equal noise on and off the court, as we got a look at some new LeBron 8 P.S. colorways and LeBron customs. He finished off his strong week with a 51-point outburst against Orlando on Thursday night, but that wasn’t the only NBA action as Gilbert Arenas (who has a sneaker microsite dedicated to him), Dwyane Wade, and Rajon Rondo wore some interesting kicks during their games.
Nike SB February 2011 just began to hit stores, but news of two upcoming SB releases (think NFL and think ‘Retro’) caught our attention. With the Superbowl coming this Sunday, Nike announced the release of a Nike Zoom Huarache TR Mid colorway inspired by the Nike Alpha Talon, which was introduced this past December during the Nike Football Media Summit in Dallas. The upcoming Swizz Beats x Reebok shoe needs a name, and they’re asking for the help if sneakerheads with hte Swizz Beats x Reebok ‘Name These Kicks’ Contest. Other notable celebrity sneakerheads like Drake, Rick Ross, and Lil’ Wayne were also featured during the week for their sneaker sightings. Sneaker News also introduced its all-new NCAA Feet: Toe to Toe feature, which offered a season review of all the worn kicks during the 2011 NCAA Basketball season by two teams. And finally, the third and final volume of Michael Jordan Through The Years: Air Jordan XI went live, shedding light on MJ’s Air Jordan XI moments with the Air Jordan XI. Check out all that Sneaker News Weekly Rewind has to offer, and you won’t miss a single beat!
