When this year’s NBA started, not many people would have thought that by Mid-February, the talk of the league would be, not LeBron, Kobe or KD, but the LA Clippers Blake Griffin. After missing nearly all of last season with an injury, Blake has come back strong in 2010-11, posterizing any and all who get in his way and dominating SportsCenter nightly as the new millennium’s version of the “Human Highlight Film.” While Griffin has a Nike contract in place, it’s pretty safe to say that there were no early plans for a signature shoe anytime soon, but after seeing how his popularity has skyrocketed in recent months, it might be in the Swoosh’s best interest to hop on the Blake train and ride it to the bank. Whether or not Blake Griffin will become a bigger part of Nike Basketball’s product plans in the future remains to be seen, but Cali brand, The Freshnes, is recognizing the potential a little ahead of the curve. They have just released a “BLAKE: King of Los Angeles” t-shirt that spells out the phenom’s name using some familiar fonts from LA sports teams past and present – the old UCLA “B”, Dodgers “LA”, old LA Kings “K”, and Angels “E” – with the crown from the classic LA Kings logo adding the cherry on top of the concept. Keep reading for a better look at the shirts, and if you like what you see, pick one up now from The Freshnes. Use code “NEWS40” at check out to receive 40% off your order while supplies last.
