Jordan Brand launched its “WINGS for the Future” program with the goal of motivation and inspiration of today’s youth using education, sport, and creativity – with Inglewood High School as its first partnering school. As part of the WINGS program, Jordan Brand employees will conduct weekly workshops and participate in activities involving graphic designs, essay writing, and career planning while providing a complete refurbishment of the school basketball court and classrooms. To commemorate this honorable partnership, Jordan Brand has collaborated with well-known artist and sneakerhead Dave White of the UK, who is best recognized for his amazing canvas paintings of classic sneakers. This time around, he gets to work with the original Air Jordan shoe that is the foundation of Jordan Brand – the Air Jordan 1.
The Dave White x Air Jordan 1 Retro features White’s sublime graphic touch on the upper, using red brush strokes and copious floods of metallic gold in White’s personal style of layers and splatters. Premium canvas, call-out to White’s ‘canvas’ of choice’ can be found on the tongue tag, with a pristine lasered inner lining. Environmentally Preferred Mesh is also utilized on interior walls of the shoe. White furthers his reach beyond the shoe with a special Air Jordan ‘Wings’ logo on the box painted in his trademark motif as well. The Air Jordan 1 is a perfect way to launch the Jordan Brand WINGS for the Future, and no other than Dave White can exemplify the creativity and artistic talent that the WINGS for the Future program aims to promote. Continue reading for a detailed look at the Dave White x Air Jordan 1 Retro and let us know what you think.

Damn! I just purchased my no.1 grail today. A 10 yr old Air Jordan 1… but this is almost as good. Definitely damn fine custom job my man. Definitely gonna try and cop at auction. Better than anything JB can come up with these days thats for sure. Very dope colorway, and detail is on point.
February 17th, 2011 at 4:29 am
those look like a fake remake of the 2001 Japan release jordan 1 model. It's just not a high cut version. also looks like a kid took the shoe to school and finger painted the shoe….. I don't care if this is for a good cause….. this shoe is trash!!
February 17th, 2011 at 4:43 am
Agree to much gold on any shoe is buzzard as fuck.Use it in moderation.Like the shoe but to much gold just killed it for me.
February 17th, 2011 at 5:10 am
These are actually very nice just look at the laces , the leather quality but i really dont get it why there is gold on the toe it really make the shoes off if the gold is off i would love to buy it
February 17th, 2011 at 8:24 am
not bad and i hate when people mess up a good shoe but i like the designs. it would look sweet on the 4th of july with a matching t-shirt with the same design
February 17th, 2011 at 8:33 am

February 17th, 2011 at 12:34 pm
Nice design. The gold is bold but the shoe is simple so it works.
February 19th, 2011 at 12:31 pm
Absolutely shocking, one of the worst shoes of this century. Dave White usually brings the heat but this is just shiiit!
