The global financial meltdown that came to a head in late 2008 left the world economy in recession and forced everyone everywhere to cut out as much excess as possible. In the fashion world, this meant everything got slimmer and more conservative with the mid-’00s ultrabrite high contrast default giving way to a more ‘mature’ lean. So now some thirty months after the big meltdown, we’re starting to see some signs of life when it comes to crazy colorways, so it’s particularly interesting to see how Jeremy Scott’s ObyO capsule has stuck to its guns. This Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals JS Wings in gold with black trim first released in spring 2009, but we saw Oscar host Anne Hathaway rocking a pair while ‘training’ for the upcoming award show, and right on time the model has again become available at retail. Click through to get a better look at one of the top JS Wings colorways and grab your pair while you can from Shopadidas.
