Yet more proof that adidas Originals is moving us back toward the high-contrast aesthetics that typified pre-recession sneaker and streetwear design is this capsule slated for the second half of the year. The adidas Originals Blue collection is named after the royal shade that typically defines the brand (remember the A.039 collection?) and includes a wide range of high and lowtops that are indeed in step with the ‘cleaner’ modern leanings. But one look at the Hardland Low or High and you’ll see a combination of the triangular look common to OT Tech releases but mixed with a blend of colors something like Nike’s 2008 Urban Jungle Pack.
