Los Angeles was the perfect stage for the star-studded event in all of professional sports. The city that invented the red carpet welcomed the 2011 NBA All-Stars with open arms (and a few playful boos for some of the Eastern Conference players) as the Staples Center opened its door for the weekend to hold the Rookie Challenge, 3-point shootout, Skills Challenge, Slam Dunk Contest, and of course, the 2011 NBA All-Star Game. Rosters on both sides were loaded with superstar talent with over half of the Eastern roster consisting of players from the Heat and Celtics. The Western Conference was no slouch either, led by 5-time champion Kobe Bryant, 3-time champion Tim Duncan, and the most exciting and ‘trending’ player in the league in Blake Griffin headlining the West roster.
The All-Star Game theme was once again a patriotic Red vs. Blue motif as the uniforms and signature sneakers all represented their respective conference’s colors. Starting on the East coast, Dwyane Wade debuted the all-new Air Jordan 2011 in White/Varsity Royal, LeBron James wore the LeBron 8 V/2 ‘All-Star’ in Treasure Blue, and Amare Stoudemire wore a new Air Max Fly By PE as well as a sweet new Zoom Huarache TR Mid PE colorway. The four Boston Celtics also caught our attention with some great Player Exclusives; Kevin Garnett wore a dazzling metallic silver PE of his Anta KG 1 signature, Rajon Rondo wore the Air Max 360 BB Low, Paul Pierce wore the Air Legacy 2 PE, and Ray Allen sported a gorgeous grey/white/blue PE of the Air Jordan 2011. Other notables included Joe Johnson’s Jordan Evolution ’85 PE, Derrick Rose’s adidas Rose Zero and adiRose 1.5 PE, and Dwight Howard’s Superbeast.
The Home Western Conference team did its best to counter the East’s barrage of kicks, led by ASG MVP Kobe Bryant’s Zoom Kobe VI ‘All-Star’, and Kevin Durant’s Zoom KD III. Jordan Brand’s two marquee athletes Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul wore All-Star colorways of their signature shoes – the Jordan Melo M7 and CP3.IV. Deron Williams sported a nice PE of the Zoom Hyperfuse Low, and Kevin Love wore the PEAK Relentless PE. However, the show may have been stolen by the electrifying Blake Griffin, who not only held his own in his first ever NBA All-Star Game appearance, but debuted the all new Nike Hyperdunk 2011 in the ’10.0′ PE which features earthquake graphics. Oh, how sweet is. Check out Sugar Ray’s Air Jordan 2011 PE for the 2011 NBA All-Star Game. The all-time 3-point leader’s kicks feature a grey upper with a blue trim on the midsole and lace placket with a white outsole, laces, and Jumpman branding. The 2010-11 NBA Season was one for the ages for Jordan Brand athlete Ray Allen, and he certainly stole the spotlight from Air Jordan 2011 frontman Dwyane Wade with these awesome Player Exclusives. Check out the additional shot after the jump and let us know what you think of this Air Jordan 2011 PE!

Every so often the Sneaker News staff likes to give props to some old-school classics that might not have received the proper shine at its time. We’ve looked back at some recent kicks like the Nike Zoom LeBron IV ‘Birthday’ and the entire set of the Supreme x Nike SB Dunk High, but we’ve also reached back further to the early 90′s and picked out the Nike Air Flight – one of the originals from the Flight Series – and the more obscure Nike Air Force High of 1993. These high-top bad-b0ys featured an oddly sleek design (for a Force shoe) with a neoprene sockliner, back-and-forth crossing instep strap, and a visible Air unit on the heel, and you might remember ‘em being on Dan Majerle’s feet when he tried to stop Michael Jordan from winning his third straight NBA Title (we all know how that turned out). If you caught our Classics Revisited feature on the Nike Air Force High, these will definitely look a lot more familiar to you, so take a look at this new set of images and add these to your vintage collection by checking out the auction from jasonwhite9 on eBay.

The original Jordan Team 1 was one of the first designs to come out of the Jordan Brand camp once it broke away from Nike as a standalone brand. The Team 1 was intended for (big surprise) organized basketball teams in the collegiate and high-school level, and that purpose will likely be served once more as the NCAA Basketball season heats up for March Madness. We already saw Ray Allen and Quentin Richardson wear the revamped Jordan Hardcourt Classic 1 in a few games this season, but this Light Graphite/Varsity Red colorway would fit the team uniforms of, say, Ohio State? There are more Hardcourt Classic 1 colorways dropping in February, as these just dropped at Japan’s LTD-Online, so take another look at these new releases and pick up a pair now on eBay.

It’s a pretty widely known fact that combining simple colorways with classic silhouettes is a can’t miss recipe for success and Nike Sportswear has just cooked up something white-hot. The Nike Air Force 1 Mid ’07 has always been something of a misfit, sandwiched in between two original heights that purists claim the Mid can’t match. But take a look at how amazing the AF1 Mid is when crafted in white leather with a Velvet Brown Swoosh and gum rubber on the outsole. It’s an impeccable design and the only feedback we have is something like, “NSW, pretty please with suede on top, please release more of these two-toned + gum colorways!” Click through to see more and grab this March 2011 release a bit early courtesy of Schuh-You.

Judging by the previews we’ve seen early this year, the latter part of 2011 is going to be the sickest on record for New Balance. It seems like every other day you click to read Sneaker News and see some deluxe edition of NB’s iconic runners and sure enough here are two more beautifully classic designs that’ll be out later in the year. These New Balance 576s are ‘Made in England’ at the Flimby factory and from the looks of the rustic yellow and blue-grey suede construction on these, somebody over there loved the Gold Dart and Pale Blue Nike Vintage Blazers. Just goes to show that great design is something accessible to anyone with a sharp eye, and you can get a better look at the latest Made in England New Balance runners by clicking on the jump below. via CT

Red or blue on top, gum brown on bottom. No, we’re not talking two-piece swimsuits, but the Nike WMNS Oceania in two all-new colorways. The Oceania hits it right on the head if you’re looking for vintage-styling for your kicks, and this indoor soccer-shoe look-alike has that thin and low profile that keep your dainty feet looking the way they should. Suede and nylon uppers are matched with white/black midsoles and gum outsoles for that “I got these in the 70′s” look. RockPaperScissors of the Pacific Northwest jut got these beauties in so take a look below and grab one of the two now on eBay.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a new Reebok Dual Pump Runner and if you were going to say that the fall 2010 outdoorsy-lookin’ joints were influenced/inspired by Nike ACG, you might also conclude that this new pair has a ‘South Beach’ look to it. By adding aqua and tomato red/orange accents to an otherwise black/grey/white base, the Dual Pump Runner offers a more aggressive take on the Miami (Dolphins) colorway and the checkerboard that lines the upper rear midsole gives ‘em a strangely ’80s vibe. We saw a grey/black/white Puma R698 Jogger release as part of the holiday 2010 collection, and while the colors are quite similar here, it’s amazing how much difference the choice of materials can make. The R698 pictured above makes the leap from being just another versatile grey-based shoe to one that’s the stuff of which sneakerheads dream, all thanks to the immortal and unbeatable combination of suede and nylon mesh. Add in Puma’s Trinomic cushioning system and you’ve got classic running style and superior comfort, and you can find these at select retailers like BX Sports.

It’s kinda like I & I Survived with this latest collection from Off the Wall, but despite the rastafied foxing band, this is not another collaborations with Bad Brains. But there’s little doubting the DC dreadheads would love this new Vans Classic Hemp Pack, a collection of classic silhouettes done with woven hemp uppers and the aforementioned tri-colored wraparound. Both the Authentic and 106 come with black woven hemp uppers (white and black soles, respectively), while the Slip-On goes for a more traditional beige upper plus a delicious gum bottom.
