The Nike Zoom Huarache TR Mid is without a doubt one of the best new Nike models to have released over the last few years, but let’s not overlook the original shoe that served as the inspiration. The Air Trainer Huarache combined two of Nike’s biggest efforts of the time – the Nike Trainer and the all-new Huarache-style construction, which reduced weight by removing materials in select regions and utilizing a weightless mesh in-step strap housing on the upper. Three colorways have just become available for the Spring 2011 season; one in the original ‘Raiders’ combo of black, grey, and white, as well a black/red and a grey/photo blue joint that dropped as a Euro exclusive a couple of years back. Eastbay has them available right now with a ship-date tomorrow, so check out the three Spring 2011 colorways below and let us know if you prefer the OG Air Trainer Huarache or the new Zoom Huarache TR Mid.

“Would you like to come to my house and listen to some music?”
Many Sneaker News readers are young enough that your strongest association to (the artist formerly known as the artist formerly known as) Prince was Dave Chappelle’s hilarious deadpan impersonation, but let’s not forget that the soundtrack to his film Purple Rain has sold over 20 million albums to date. The Artist joins Harrison Ford in a collection of RBK releases this summer celebrating ’80s cinema and the tonal purple Reebok Insta Pump Fury pictured above is a fitting tribute. These joints are done in a range of satiny purple shades that’d make TAFKAP himself jealous, complete with a special script on the heel that matches the film/album/single’s cover art and promo materials. The Nike Air Max ACG Pack was interesting to the say the least, so what can be said about the Nike Dunk High ACG Pack? Check out this trio of colorways from the all-new Nike Dunk High ACG Pack; it features similar colorways as those used in the Air Max ACG Pack, and uses a number of contrasting materials on the upper to create the rugged appeal. Smooth synthetic leather, a rustic pebbled synthetic leather, and a canvas-like material on the center panel make up these great new releases for the Dunk High, and this partnership between Dunk and ACG could point to Dunk Low ACG releases as well (although it’s been done once before). All three colorways have just arrived at Nike Harajuku so take a look below and expect that at state-side Nike Sportswear retailers soon.

During the January 17th NBA games, players around the league wore the special Black History Month PE colorways to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday. Los Angeles Lakers Forward Lamar Odom was set to wear the Nike Air Max Fly By ‘Black History Month’ PE for that game, but made a last-second switch to the Nike Zoom Kobe VI ‘Black History Month’. Lamar has switched sneakers more often than not this season, rotating among an impressive arsenal of the Kobe VI, Zoom Hyperfuse, Air Max Fly By, and Hyperdunk 2010. The Black History Month colorway of the Air Max Fly By never released, but here’s your chance to own a size-17 pair issued to Lamar Odom; a gallery of images are below so take a look and if you’re looking to purchase these, check out the auction from nytryder8 on eBay.

To all the ’80s babies out there, a ‘honeycomb cutout’ might remind you of kid-centric cereal marketing, but why hide your socks when they can show through this unique pair of Nike WMNS Terminator High Premiums. Crafted in Honeycomb golden brown leather, these joints eschew the traditional sewn-on Swoosh and go way past any of the typical variations to leave Nike’s trademark as a window where your choice of stockings can dramatically change the end result. Dudes are likely to be angry if you can’t find a pair big enough to fit, but for the lucky few who can squeeze into a pair, you can grab yours from select Nike Sportswear spots like Extra Butter.

In 1998, Jordan Brand branched off (but not far) from the Air Jordan signature line to produce performance-based footwear based on the Jumpman mission statement of top-tier performance and quality. A few years later, Jordans made the ‘jump’ from on-court to off-court, using lifestyle-based designs and motifs to create yet another branch of footwear emphasizing fashionable appeal. The Air Jordan Phase 23 Hoops is like a combination of both, adopting both the performance aspects of an Air Jordan basketball shoe and the style points from a lifestyle-inspired effort. The Air Jordan Phase 23 Hoops features a forefoot strap with a Air Jordan VIII-inspired decorative lace lockdown structure on the heel. The stylish perforated upper and breathable mesh panels offer an extra appeal to both sides as well. This upcoming colorway of White, Mineral Blue, and Light Italy Blue, and Black is set for a May 2011 release so take a look at the detailed images below and let us know what you think. via taobao.
