Sneaker News recently reported the upcoming Retro releases of the Air Jordan X for late 2011/early 2012. Will we see this brand new colorway hit the shelves? Here’s a look at an Air Jordan x Promo Sample which features a white/black ‘Oreo’-like upper. It features the signature checkered inner lining and Jumpman on the heel, but the one new aspect of the Air Jordan X is the color-blocking. No other Air Jordan X features a different colored mudguard (in fact, all of them have tonal uppers), and the closest resemblance this has to any original colorway is the Air Jordan X ‘Steel’, which features a white mudguard and Steel Grey lacing units. What do you think of these unreleased Jordans? Would you like to see color-blocking like this in the future? Check out the extra shot below and chime in with your thoughts on this Air Jordan X. A big thanks to Fatboykickz for the pics.

Cudi ain’t alone when he says the Air Jordan III and Air Jordan IV are his two favorite Jordans. Elephant print, the weight-reducing netting, the plastic ‘wings’, visible Air – there was just so much about those two Jordans that made them the icons they are. Kid Cudi’s made his mark for his eclectic and unique sound and his being in-tune with urban fashion, but it’s his sneakers that we’re most interested (and in this case, the Air Jordan III and IV). The 26-year-old hip-hop star has been spotted numerous times with kicks so here’s a look at his best moments with his two favorite Jordans of all time; we’ve got a sampling below so head to Complex.com for the full feature.

A decent amount of recent Nike Air Force 1 Low releases have featured the textured synthetic leather that can be described as minutely ribbed. It’s something discernable only at close, close proximity, but from far away, you’ve got a pair of clean tonal-grey Forces that can match pretty much anything. Khakis, jeans both light and dark, shorts, and pantaloons would go nice with ese new releases. Another interesting note is the ‘smoked’ out translucent outsole, which also pairs well with the white midsole. These have begun to hit Nike Sportswear retailers like BXSports, but you can also grab a pair on eBay.

Penny Hardaway is just one of many Nike signature athletes past and present, but it can be argued that he had the best debut signature shoe of them all. Nothing against the Air Jordan 1, Air Zoom Kobe 1, Air Zoom Generation, or the Shox VC, but the Air Max Penny 1 isn’t regarded as one of the best Air Pennys, but one of the best Nike Basketball shoes of all time. The jeweled swoosh, Max Air on the heel, pinstriped tongue, and one of the best Nike logos ever created meshed in perfect harmony and served as the proper first step for Penny Hardaway and his dynamic, exciting game. These are set to release yet again in March 11th, 2011 at Nike retailers so let us know if these are a must have for you. via Dunk.

The latest example of adidas Originals’ in-house design work following after a notable collaboration is this new/old runner pictured above. The adidas Originals ZX800 has been out for nearly 20 years but rarely has it ever looked as clean as this new colorway. They’re not all the way to Beckham-n-Bond status (their ZX800s completely eschew side panel stripes) but by using translucent synthetics on the side panel, the Three Stripes are clearly (or cloudily, as the case may be) sublimated when compared to the base model. This serves to draw more attention to the Fresh Lemon yellow toe and heel, making for that perfect jolt of energy in your springtime wardrobe. A bit peculiar that a Nike SB Dunk High Premium based on the Statue of Liberty would release in February, no? After all, the tablet depicted in the right arm of Liberty Enlightening the World is inscribed with July 4th, 1776 and the statue was built in October 1886. But maybe it’s a meta-statement on the immense freedom we have these days, that Nike SB would drop this shoe whenever they felt like it. Whatever the reasoning for the release date, we’re glad they’re a February 2011 Quickstrike cos we’ve got five months of good wear to get in on these before Independence Day. Click through to get a better look at this Seagrass green leather SB Dunk and look for them right now at select Nike SB retailers like Green Hill Skateshop.

The mood was quite cheery at the House of Blues in Las Vegas, NV, as Puma teamed up with West Coast urban footwear purveyor Undefeated to celebrate the ‘Next Chapter’ of the Puma Clyde. The help boost the event was Pharrell of N.E.R.D., who performed live while wearing the UNDFTD x Puma 24k – one of Sneaker News’ Top 30 Sneakers of 2009. Also in attendance were Eddie Cruz, co-founder of UNDFTD, and other notable figures of Puma’s inner circles. On display were some classic Puma Clyde colorways placed in glass casings, which provided a visual evolution of one of the most iconic sneakers in urban fashion history. Check out this nice event recap from the UNDFTD x Puma Clyde ‘The Next Chapter’ at the House of Blues in Las Vegas below and let us know what you think.

In late 2010, Reebok presented a unique opportunity to fans of rookie phenom John Wall and the sport of basketball with the John Wall Reebok Zig Slash All-Star 2011 Design Contest. It allowed anyone and everyone the chance to pick out a colorway on YourReebok, and just last month Sneaker News featured the Top 10 submissions to the contest. John Wall has just announced on his twitter that the winner of the contest is Dylan Stratton, who selected a sick white/red/blue/silver colorway for Wall to wear during the 2011 NBA All-Star Weekend. Dylan will also get to enjoy the festivities first-hand as part of the grand price is a trip out the mid-February event. What do you think of the design? Let us know after the jump.

Kevin Durant’s stated numerous times that he wants everyone to wear his kicks. They’re comfortable, they’re priced fairly, and the design is sleek, but if it’s the colorways that have held you back, your wait is over because the Nike Zoom KD III is now available on Nike iD. Kevin Durant now joins Kobe Bryant on the short, short list of Nike signature athletes that have given the ‘OK’ to having their shoes available for customization, and the available options on these will leave you nothing short of impressed. Some of the great new options is the base material, which can be nubuck, patent leather, or synthetic tumbled leather, as well as an eye-catching gradient option on the upper Flywire panel. Check out some sample iD make-ups below and head on over to Nike iD to get your own pair.

Is the Nike SB Dunk Mid better without the strap that was its signature for four years? That’s mostly a matter of taste, but there’s no arguing that the SB Dunk Pro is radically improved. New outsole materials and traction pattern, better cushioning and improved padding inside translate to the best ride yet and it certainly doesn’t hurt that the above pictured colorway is among the best to ever grace a Mid. These dont have a nickname yet but given their use of the rarely seen Brickhouse shade, one doesn’t appear too far out of reach. So Brickhouse suede and white accents with a gum sole; that’s classic style executed on an iconic silhouette for a release that should be a nice sleeper hit when they hit stores next month. Click through to see more pics after the jump and keep an eye out for these hitting SB retailers this March. via Kasina
