What made the Air Max LeBron VII and LeBron 8 such a widely popular shoe was the aesthetically pleasing full-length 360 Max Air unit. Jason Petrie and crew decided to go with Zoom Air for the LeBron VII P.S., so a repeat could have been expected for this year’s post-season shoe. Sneaker News gave you a first look at the Nike LeBron 8 P.S. not long ago and obviously all eyes were set on the bottom chassis to see what the lower-half of the P.S. would entail, and we were all pleasantly surprised to see the return of Max Air – though only on the heel. Most of 1990′s Nike Basketball classics comprised of heel-only visible Air, and for the LeBron 8 P.S., we’ve got another winner on our hands. The visible Air actually stretches to the midfoot, which then makes way to Zoom Air cushioning for faster response, and the Hyperfuse upper should keep Bron’s feet cool and ventilated without compromise. Here’s a look at a Black/Red/White ‘Away’ colorway of LeBron 8 P.S.; a tonal black Fuse upper reveals a red under-layer for a two-toned effect, with a red swoosh, laces, Max Air unit, and a white midsole and swoosh border. We’ve got a detailed gallery for you below so take a look and let us know what you think. via MarqueeSole.

Upon seeing the Nike Basketball ‘Attack From All Angles’ collection for the 2011 NBA All Star Game, one reader asked “Why does KD only get one picture?!” Your exclamation point is deserved cos if either we or Nike BB overlooked Kevin Durant despite him leading the league in scoring by a wide margin, we’d simply be remiss. But actually we’re going to take a close-up look at the Nike Zoom KDIII ‘All Star’, a shoe that by itself hasn’t been profiled as often as the Zoom Kobe VI or LeBron 8 V/2s. This KDIII shares the same lenticular tongue that unites it with those others under the aforementioned tagline, its pearlized red finish as elegant and attention-grabbing as Durant’s perimeter game. Click through to see more and let us know how these compare to all the other NBA All Star Game sneakers we’ve seen this year. If you like what you see, the ASG KDIII will hit select retailers on Thursday, February 17th.

With all these special themed colorways of the Kobe VI releasing, it certainly has been difficult in keeping up with all the ‘chaos’. In fact, the grey/white/purple/red colorway of the Kobe VI was first thought to be the ‘Chaos’ version of the Kobe VI, but that was later revealed to be a special China-specific colorway, inspired by traditional pottery. Here’s another look at the actual Zoom Kobe VI ‘Chaos’, inspired by the maniacal villain from arguably the most famous superhero storyline in history. The ‘chaotic’ colorway of cactus green, purple, white, orange, and an aptly placed speckling of the rear midsole are what make up the Zoom Kobe VI ‘Chaos’, one that is quite similar to last year’s Kobe V version. A ‘Dark Knight’ colorway will presumably release to counter this release, so stay tuned to Sneaker News for more Kobe VI updates, and let us know what you think of this colorway. via MarqueeSole.

Love was in the air during last night’s NBA games, as a good number of pros decided to put aside color-coordination and go with some red sneakers fitting for the holiday. A few Charlotte Bobcats joined in on the fun as Stephen Jackson and Gerald Wallace wore the Jordan Evolution ’85 in a tonal-red patent leather upper (a March Air Jordan release). Out in Atlanta, Joe Johnson wore those same Evolution ’85s while Mike Bibby wore a white/red pair of the Jordan CP3.IV. LaMarcus Aldridge of the Blazers wore his all-red Air Max Hyperdunk 2010 PE, and in Denver, Carmelo Anthony wore a special red/white PE of the Jordan Melo M7. Other notable non-red kicks included Al Harrington’s Zoom KD3, Austin Daye’s Zoom Kobe VI iD, and George Hill’s Air Max Sensation 2011. Check out all the NBA action from Valentine’s Day 2011 and let us know which red sneakers you liked best. via ESPN.

The updated Trainer series has gradually raised the bar on performance and the 1.3 will hit retailers later this year along with the Hyperfuse-d spinoff. And even with all this performance innovation, you still can’t go wrong with the original Nike Air Trainer 1. This new colorway is somewhat similar to the OG Chlorophyll colorway made famous by John MacEnroe back in the late ’80s, but the colorblocking is slightly different and these plant Volt into the accent hits. This pair of Air Trainer 1s is a Europe exclusive but thanks to the magic of the intrawebs you can just pick yours up right now from Germany’s Schuh-You.

The Air Max 95 and ‘gradient’ isn’t a pairing you’d see that often, but take note, because it seems to work quite nicely here. Check out these new 95s in Anthracite, Photo Blue, Green Apple, and White; the upper color-blocking isn’t anything new, as the classic grey-to-white color scheme is the predominant feature of this sick new release, but check out the Max Air unit and the sweet blue-green gradient that emanates an aura like a tropical lagoon. Add in some dotted, roped laces and you’ve got a pair of ninety-fives that you just can’t say no to. What are your opinions on the gradient? A nice addition or out of place? Check out the detailed images below and cop a pair now over at UK’s JDSports.

Just as adidas Basketball superstar center Dwight Howard is known to be a cut-up off the court, slashing guard Derrick Rose is widely thought of as something of a silent assassin. D-Rose lets his game do the talking and that’s exactly what you should expect to see in the latest segment from the ‘Fast World’ video series. The same digital rotoscoping technique is used to apply computer graphics over video clips in a way that offers a glimpse into what a live painting might look like, but with Rose’s all business demeanor, the art style is considerably less kaleidoscopic when compared to Howard’s. Click through to see it for yourself and let us know which one is better.

In 2009 and years prior, the main theme in play with NBA All Star Game sneakers was about as simple as which conference you’re reppin. But last year, Nike Basketball shook things up a bit and applied a sick woodgrain texture to their already outrageously colored ASG looks and immediately had us wondering how they’d top that this time around. And with the Nike Zoom Kobe VI and a few Zoom Hyperfuse Lows having already given us a 3-D look, there’s a different special effect in play for the game in Los Angeles. On the All Star ZKVI, LeBron 8 V/2 and KDIII, you’ll notice that the tongues are all equipped with a lenticular material that flips back and forth between the player’s PE logo and a reference to the team for whom he’s starting. The tagline ‘Attack From All Angles’ is a fitting wordplay and you’ll see the theme echoed on linear sublimated graphics covering each shoe’s special packaging. Click through to see more of the Nike Basketball 2011 NBA All Star Game sneakers and stick with Sneaker News for more in this week leading up to the Super Bowl of sneakers.

Its design a perfect melding of Air Maxes 95 and 97, it’s no shock that the Nike Air Max 24/7 has appeared in many of those models’ signature colorways. Here’s a new AM24-7 that also draws on the Air Max heritage, despite the model not featuring that trademark in its name. A white base with Vibrant Blue and Spark pink accents is sure to evoke images of the ‘Ultramarine’ Air 180, but these go for the full 360 with a cageless, full-length Max Air cushion Swoosh engineers could have only dreamed of when the OG 180s hit retail some two decades ago. As for these 24/7s, they’re available right now with a full kids size run at FinishLine.

Sneakerheadism is a pursuit anchored in nostalgia, so it’s no great surprise that the major brands are reaching back to the the ’80s to incorporate some of the images on which many of us were raised. And while many of our readers are too young to have seen these on store shelves, one quick look at the Freezy Freakies x Puma collection and you’ll instantly feel a cold chill. These First Rounds, Mids and Explorers will have you reminiscing over snow days (should be pretty easy to do for East coasters) with their uppers changing to reveal a hidden graphic when their temperature drops below a certain point. fragment design’s Hiroshi Fujiwara’s love for the Nike All Court Low isn’t exactly hidden info. Over the last fourteen months, we’ve seen him use the All Court as his canvas for expression, conveyed by the simplest of colorways and the utmost in basic materials. These three canvas-uppered All Court Lows features a swooshless upper with the only branding present on the heeltab and a fragment-design label on the tongue. You’ve got three colors to choose from, and although the green, black, and red are present only in minute amounts, it’s enough to grab your attention as they are used adroitly on the midsole rim and heel. Sneaker News reported the Euro release last week, but here’s some extra good news; the fragment design x Nike All Court Low Spring 2011 capsule will hit U.S. retailers like Concepts of Cambridge, MA on February 26th. Check out the extra shots below and let us know what you think.

It looks like Kanye had no interest in the Grammys, and instead decided to stay in New York for Fashion Week, where he was spotted on Sunday by Wendy Lam (nitro:licious) at the Tory Burch Presentation. Mr. West was first spotted mixing into the crowd of fashion journalists and fashion bloggers, but during a second showing, he was joined by Tory Burch in the crowd just a few seats from Ms Lam. Kanye stopped for a few photos with fans before jetting out, but not before he was photographed wearing the Air Jordan VI Black/Infrared for a second time this week. Wendy also notes that Kanye is a big fan of Tory Burch and her collection, as he was also spotted attending her 9am presentation during last season’s NYFW. Much thanks to nitro:licious for shooting over the photos.
