As part of Royalefam’s Curated Artists program, Australia-based sneaker customizer Sekure D has created a trio of Nike Dunk customs inspired by classic villians in the horror-film genre. Mr. Freeze, Daywalker, and The Mummy were hand-selected by Sekure D as the muses for his Dunk High creations and this February 18th, you’ll have the chance of owning one of these great custom Dunks, available exclusively at Royalefam. Sekure D’s work as well as those from the other artists part of Royalefam’s Curated Artists program will be showcased on the Royalefam website, so take another look below for a movie poster-like flyer as well as a full price-list and let us know which of the three you like best.

The global financial meltdown that came to a head in late 2008 left the world economy in recession and forced everyone everywhere to cut out as much excess as possible. In the fashion world, this meant everything got slimmer and more conservative with the mid-’00s ultrabrite high contrast default giving way to a more ‘mature’ lean. So now some thirty months after the big meltdown, we’re starting to see some signs of life when it comes to crazy colorways, so it’s particularly interesting to see how Jeremy Scott’s ObyO capsule has stuck to its guns. This Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals JS Wings in gold with black trim first released in spring 2009, but we saw Oscar host Anne Hathaway rocking a pair while ‘training’ for the upcoming award show, and right on time the model has again become available at retail. Just by the very nature of what the word is expressing, a ‘kamikaze’ should be a one-and-done kinda deal. And from the looks of the above pictured release, it’s clear Reebok isn’t the only brand reaching into its archives to find inspiration from an earlier mission. The Supra Skytop II ‘Kamikaze’s Revenge’ is based on 2008′s Skytop ‘Comakaze’, itself borrowing heavily from the Crown brand’s initial collaboration with Brooklyn Projects. So you get the zebra-striped overlay common to both of those atop the black and red Comakaze Skytop motif and applied to the Skytop II. A nice little history lesson on the brand, Supra‘s latest special edition will release in a 413-pair limited run this Saturday, exclusively at Factory 413.

Arriving at Jordan Brand retailers is this all-new Air Jordan III colorway for kids. If you’re wondering why the Air Jordan III is getting a heavy push this year, 2011 happens to be the 23rd anniversary of the Air Jordan III. January’s White/Cement release will be followed by the Black History Month colorway later this month, the True Blues, a new ‘Stealth’ joint for September, and the Black/Cement III for the Holiday season, and falling in between all of those Jordans is this nice colorway that stays somewhat close to Jordan’s Bulls history while offering fresh new take on this classic silhouette. Word out of Charlotte is Michael Jordan has been participating in Bobcats scrimmages and coach Paul Silas has gone so far as to say that “If he got in shape he could probably average about 15 to 20 points a game, no question, because he still has the shot.” It seems absolutely insane to imagine a forty-seven (48 on Thursday) year old MJ back in the NBA, especially since the Bobcats are poised to return to the playoffs even without his Airness. But then again, when you consider what happened the last time Mike laced up his Air Jordans for an NBA Playoff run, the idea is downright tantalizing. The same can be said of the above pictured Air Jordan XIII Retro, a sneaker that earned its nickname as Jordan’s home playoff sneaker in 1998. So one way or another, Jordan and Playoffs are coming together and you can get a better look at new Dunk pics of the upcoming Air Jordan 13 release when you click on the jump below. Paul Rodriguez is something like the Michael Jordan of skateboarding, at least when it comes to annual-signature-sneaker status. They’re also both connected to extremely popular sub brands of the world’s leader in athletic footwear and apparel, so we’ve seen their paths cross before. Whether it’s the variety of Chicago-style P-Rod colorways or the Elephant print-equipped ‘Supreme’ P-Rod 2, it’s clear Paul’s sneaker tastes were shaped by the GOAT, and in a video by CCS depicting Rodriguez’ favorite possessions, a gem of a special edition sneaker popped up. Created for Jordan in his size 13, P-Rod tells the tale of how the kind folks at Nike had MJ sign the uni-blue Nike SB V-Rod and then delivered it to the young skater with Mike’s signature on the vulcanized sole. The annual Grammy Awards always sees musicians dressed to the nines but here’s a look at a young actor who stole a piece of the sneaker spotlight on Sunday night. Will Smith’s son Jaden was pictured alongside Usher and Justin Bieber whilst wearing a 1 of 1 Supra Skytop II featuring a bold red, black and gold mix. They’re so intense you might not even have noticed Bieber finished off his white tux with a pair of Skytops, but with those two in tow, Usher’s high fashion look took a backseat. Reebok released a series of Shawn Kemp signatures in the mid ’90s under the Kamakaze name. They also dropped a 2K10 update last year, so while the design is clearly similar, it’s a bit confusing that the as yet unnamed pictured sneaker will also be the Reebok Kamikaze. Considerably more clear is that this is Swizz Beatz’ Reebok sneaker and their partnership was officially unleashed at a recent event in Las Vegas. Swizzy showed up in a Jean-Michel Basquiat tee and showed off the new shoes at Project in Sin City, including a crazy pink snakeskin pair made in commemoration of this year’s Grammy Awards.
