Air Jordan XIII Retro ‘Playoffs’ – Release Reminder

The Air Jordan XIII ‘Playoffs’ was the very last Michael wore in his career. Right before he whipped out the Air Jordan XIV in Black/Varsity Red (which would later be referred to as the ‘Last Shots’), the ‘Playoffs’ made its last appearance in Game 5 during the first half, but Michael switched to the XIV, hoping he would win the Championship at the United Center while wearing an all new pair of kicks. Of course, the rest is history, as documented by Michael Jordan Through The Years: Air Jordan XIV. The ‘Playoffs’ are one of the last few original Air Jordan XIII colorways to have never re-released (the other being the White/Varsity Red-Black ‘Bulls’ colorway that dropped in December), but tomorrow will be your chance to cop these classics as these will officially hit Jordan Brand retailers for good. Still need convincing? We got an army of images for you below, courtesy of Kenlu, so take a quick look and let us know if these are a must-have for you. If you don’t want to leave the comfort of your own home, cop a pair now on eBay.

Air Jordan XI Concord Sneaker Cake Step by Step Process

Due to the booming popularity of ‘sneaker cakes‘ over the last couple of years, the craftsmen behind these edible sneaker pastries have been sharpening their skills. The level of quality is slowly reaching the demand, and Sweet and Saucy of Long Beach, CA, has recently documented the step-by-step process into constructing one of these sweet sneaker treats. Starting off with your basic chocolate cake layered with assorted frostings, the sneaker starts to take shape after it is covered in white fondant. The final result is the Air Jordan XI Concord, complete with upper details like the lace straps, Jordan Jumpman label on the tongue, the traction ridges on the outsole, and the Jumpman on the upper ankle. Check out the entire ‘Concord’ process below and let us know what sneaker would be your cake!

Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Premium OX

Here comes a new pack of Chucks for spring that’s all at once familiar and totally fresh.  The Converse CT AS Premium OX has a name full of abbreviations that simply means these are the lowtop version, and while canvas is the default material for All Stars, these joints have us looking at them like we just met.  It’s a rich canvas material whose texture vaguely resembles a chambray weave and is finished off nicely by leather piping and tongue tags.  Click through to get a look at beige and navy blue pairs and look for these at select Converse retailers soon.  via ST

Air Jordan VII Retro Bordeaux Available Early @ Kicks Crew

Nineteen years is just long enough for most people to make their first venture out into the adult world, but in the case of waiting for a sneaker grail to see its first retro release, waiting for the score can be downright maddening.  Sneakerheads have been asking for the Air Jordan VII Retro  ‘Bordeaux’ for so long that MizzeeCustoms took it upon himself to translate a pair of AJVI ‘Hares’ into the iconic colorway earlier this week.  And while his creation is so dope it demands to be applied to more Jordan Brand models, we’re still sitting on the edge of our seats, eagerly awaiting the originator.  The AJ7 Bordeaux returns in April as part of an insanely prolific run of Air Jordan Retros, but if you don’t wanna have to deal with worrying if you can get a pair come drop date, grab yours early from Kicks-Crew or scoop one up now on eBay.

Nike Zoom Kobe VI – White – Black – Maize – New Images

Since Michael Jordan led the Chicago Bulls to six championships in the 1990s, the standard for NBA Playoff sneakers has been black kicks/black socks.  Nike Basketball shifted this default a bit last year when several Playoff Pack releases dropped in primarily white colorways, unified by a tessellated pattern on each pair’s upper.  The Zoom Kobe V was a standout in that collection for its black base, but could these new Nike Zoom Kobe VIs be a sign of things to come for this postseason? A shoe previously labeled as the ZK6 POP, this white, black and gold colorup was featured during last night’s game at Staples Center when Kobe teammates Shannon Brown and Lamar Odom rocked ‘em en route to a victory over the Atlanta Hawks.   So the POP distinction seems to have fallen through, but are thest still a must cop?  Click through to get a better look and let us know if you’d like to see Kobe wearing these during the best-of-sevens or would you rather see something a bit more outrageous?  via in52

Nike Air Royal Mid Lite VT – New Images

Anyone on the west coast could tell you Punxsutawney Phil needs to get his little eyes checked, but even if we’re not experiencing an early spring, warmer days are right around the corner.  Nike Sportswear is prepared with a shoe that represents the conversion of style and function with the Nike Air Royal Mid Lite VT at the top of the list of ‘breathable lifestyle sneakers’.  These joints take VacTech molding to a new level and apply a Crocs-style shotgun perf to the one-piece upper in a variety of clean colorways.  Pairs in grey, wheat and black all ride gum outsoles and should be out here in the States; they’re releasing tomorrow at Tokyo’s Nike Harajuku.

Air Jordan VII Retro Premio – No Logo Sample | New Images

As if it wasn’t enough to simultaneously titillate and torture us with the exquisite white and University Blue Air Jordan Legacy showcase AND its laser-etched counterparts last August, Jordan Brand head man Gentry Humprhey showed up at the event wearing yet more unobtainable heat.  In the intervening months, we’ve seen the Air Jordan VII ‘Bin 23′ hit select retailers and sell out in a snap, but Gentry’s logo-less look-see samples are still the stuff of legend.  Check out these new photos of this insanely clean design, one that also eschews the AJ7 Premio’s signature heel graphic in favor of all-over white tumbled leather.  Are these better than the released model or do those more accurately capture the Seven’s essence?  Click through for a better look and let us know which pair you prefer.  via carter1203 on Kenlu

Brooklyn Projects x Nike SB Dunk High – ‘Reign in Blood’ | Teaser Pics

A few weeks back, we showed you a little sneak peek at the latest Dunk collaboration between Brooklyn Projects and Nike SB, and although we still don’t have a clean look at the shoe, some more teaser pics and info have recently surfaced. Apparently, the inspiration for the new BP Dunk was taken from Slayer’s 1986 metal classic, Reign In Blood, considered by many to be the greatest thrash metal album ever made. Brooklyn Projects owner, Dom DeLuca, has a long history in the heavy metal world, so it was a perfect fit to incorporate the love for one of his favorite bands into this new SB Dunk design. Expected to release in June of this year, the shoe is rumored to be limited to only 666 pairs, so it may be tough getting your hands on a pair. Keep reading for a look at some teaser pics after the jump, and stay tuned for more on the BP x Nike SB ‘Slayer’ Dunk High coming soon. via N-SB

Nike Zoom Kobe VI Grey Black + Grey Royal | Available @ Nikestore

The Nike Zoom Kobe V was a popular choice among NCAA teams during last year’s March Madness tournament (in fact, the Kobe V is still a popular choice right now), and we don’t expect much different from Kobe VI. A few college players have worn the Kobe VI already, like Seth Curry of Duke and Scoop Jardine of Syracuse, but expect colorways like these Medium Grey joints to be popular all around the nation. Both colorways feature Medium Grey base colorways with secondary colors of Varsity Royal or Black, with more releases of similar color-blocking on the Way. Nikestore just made these two new Kobe VIs available for purchase so check out the extra images below and don’t miss out on a pair.

NBA Feet: Kicks From Around The League 2/24/11

It was a quiet Thursday night for the NBA with just two games scheduled for the night, but there was still plenty to be seen. In a big-time Eastern Conference match-up between the Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls, Derrick Rose flashed a sweet Red/Black/White colorway of the adidas Crazy 8 en route to a big victory over the Big Three. Dwyane Wade wore the Air Jordan 2011 in White/Black-Anthracite and teammate LeBron James wore Nike LeBron 8 V/2. Out West, the new-look Nuggets took on the Boston Celtics, who were also without two notable faces after trading away Nate Robinson and Kendrick Perkins. J.R. Smith wore a sweet navy blue/powder blue/white colorway of the Zoom Kobe VI iD and adidas athletes Raymond Felton and Wilson Chandler wore some new kicks that matched their new uniforms. On the Celtics, Rajon Rondo wore a white/green Zoom Hyperfuse and Chris Johnson wore the Zoom Huarache TR Mid. There’s plenty more to see from these two games so continue reading for a full recap and stick with Sneaker News for all your NBA Feet action! via ESPN.

NashMoney x Nike Air Force 1 ‘Sneaker Speaker’ Customs

You know how you can hear a song and instantly be transported back to a flashbulb memory?  In the case of sneaker customizer NASHMONEY‘s latest project, this effect seems to work in reverse order and we swear we can hear ‘Push it to the Limit’ from the Scarface soundtrack when looking at the amazing piece pictured above.  NASH took a pair of raw white-on-white Nike Air Force 1s and made them into one of the more interesting custom jobs in history for Havana Club’s Inspired Ingenuity design competition.  These AF1s are now fully-functional ‘Sneaker Speakers’ that we bet around these parts appear as beautiful as anything Bang & Olufsen ever produced.  It’s safe to say he nailed the competition’s aim at transforming everyday objects into something entirely new, but would you wanna place these alongside your Technics?  via Art & Sole
