If you saw Tommy Hilfiger’s recent sketches of ‘updated’ pro sports attire, you know that not everything that’s inspired by nautical flags is guaranteed to look cool, but luckily that’s not the case with the above pictured New Balance collabo. NB got up with fellow Boston natives Concepts to offer tribute to one of New England’s local legends and the CNCPTS x New Balance 999 was born in tribute to President John F. Kennedy. This lovely suede-n-mesh mix is crafted with JFK’s love of sailing in mind with flags galore on the tongue and sockliner complimenting a neutral grey/brown/blue mix quite nicely. These joints will hit select US retailers on Saturday, April 2nd, so click through to see more and let us know how these compare to other recent collaborations profiled here on Sneaker News. via ST
