What happens when a wool snake sheds its skin? If you’re the detail-oriented type, you might stop and wonder, “Wait a second, there’s no such thing as a wool snake!” When it comes to the animal kingdom, you’re absolutely right, but there’s no denying this new Nike Air Force 1 Low bears a certain resemblance to the ‘Wool Snake’ AF1 Highs that hit Nike Sportswear retailers last month. And since ‘real’ snakes don’t shed their scales for seasonal temperature changes anyway (the purpose of shedding is to allow continued growth), it seems somehow bizarrely poetic that in shedding the AF1 High’s ankle strap and collar in favor of a smaller silhouette, we’ve ended up with a metamorphosis more akin to a butterfly, one whose white leather and Honeycomb swoosh is a nice variation on the classic white summer sneaker.
