Air Jordan III True Blue 2011 New Images

With many of the 2007 pairs done in ‘lifestyle’ colorways, 2011 is likely to go down as the biggest year since ’88 for the Air Jordan III.  Pictured above is the second of three originals colorways to see a retro release, the AJ3 ‘True Blue’.  These joints are slated to hit US retailers on June 4th and while a release one month later might have been more poetic for the white leather plus red and blue accented design, we’d pick em up today if a surprise shipment were to occur.  The 2009 retro was notorious for its spotty overseas availability, so here’s hoping you can get a pair, a sentiment that’s likely to grow when you click through to see the latest round of photos. If you can’t wait until June, you can pick up an early pair right now from Air-Randy on eBay.

Sneaker News March Madness OG Air Jordan Tournament Sweet 16 Voting Southwest

The fourth and final bracket of the Sneaker News March Madness OG Air Jordan Tournament is the Southwest Region, as the Sweet 16 round of play comes to the near close. Again, we’ve got four heavy hitters – one of which is the lone upset thus far in the Tournament – that all have the potential to be the best of all time. The #1 seed is the Air Jordan V Grape, a sneaker that Jordan himself never wore in a game, but is still considered to be one of the best of all time. Will that be enough to advance to the Elite 8? The second matchup pits the historic 72-10 Bred XI against the True Blue III, another all-time favorite. The polls for the entire Sweet 16 round are now open, and you have until Sunday, midnight to get your votes in, so don’t miss out!

Air Jordan VII Retro Orion Blue | Release Reminder

Gone are the days when sneakerheads would find out about new releases by word of mouth or visiting stores and chatting with employees. The Orion Blue VII is just a great example of how the sneaker game has changed over the years, with the internet being such a primary source of information and communication. It was almost a year ago when Sneaker News first showed you the Air Jordan VII in White/Orion Blue-Black-Infrared (June to be exact); this new colorway had been in the works for nearly a year, and months and months of previewing, debate, and discussion have boiled down to a release date that may lack the excitement that an Air Jordan Retro should receive. We’ve already seen celebrities like Drake and Chris Brown wear them, and you might have been waiting patiently as well, so check with your local Jordan Brand retailer tomorrow as the Air Jordan VII ‘Orion Blue’ will officially be available. Check out these new images below, and save yourself the trouble by copping a pair now on eBay.

Nike Hachi ND Quickstrike Summer 2011

Nike Sportswear will add another hightop lifestyle design to its roster this summer, with the Nike Hachi ND set to debut in a couple of Quickstrike colorways.  Both of these joints are done in the perforated Swoosh outline motif we’ve seen frequently from the Toki chukka, each pair riding a similar vulcanized sole to echo the look du jour.  One pair comes in tonal blues while the other reminds us that this model’s toe and eyelets are borrowed from the Nike Sting by reviving that classic runner’s OG colorway.  Click through to see more of both and be sure to stick with Sneaker News for the US release date, cos like all Quickstrikes, these are sure to be gone fast.  via atmos

Sony Playstation x Nike Zoom Huarache TR Low Joe Mauer MLB The Show PE

Joe Mauer’s one of those rare Major Leaguers who hits for average and for power while playing the catcher’s position. The 2009 AL MVP was selected to grace the cover of the MLB The Show franchise for the second straight year, and Nike is celebrating Mauer’s accomplishments as an athlete and repeat coverboy status with a special PE colorway of the Nike Zoom Huarache TR Low. It features a navy blue upper with a red inner sleeve and a white outsole to complete the Minnesota Twins appeal. Additional details include the Sony Playstation badge on the tongue and the MLB The Show graphic insoles.  Check out the detailed images of the sick new colorway and expect these to hit select retailers like Sole Boutique on April 9th, as these are set to be a Quickstrike release.

Nike Air Griffey Max II White Black Photo Blue | July 2011

OGs? Almost. Arriving at Nike retailers this July is the Nike Air Griffey Max II in White/Black-Photo Blue. While these appear to be a true retro of the original White/Blue Spark-Black colorway, a few minor differences should be noted; in addition to the discrepancy in the shade of blue, these preliminary catalog images of the upcoming Retro release show a full white tongue, opposed to the full black from the original. The remainder of the shoe seems to be spot on, from the white stitching on the tongue tab as well as the blackened ‘eyeliner’ on the forefoot visible Air units. Again, expect this Air Griffey Max II release to hit this July, so check out the detailed images below and let us know what you think.

Nike Terminator High Basic Granite Dark Obsidian

Georgetown University had high hopes for this year’s NCAA March Madness tourney, but just like anyone who took the over on the Big East Conference’s win total, they were left disappointed.  With that in mind, we can’t help but think this new Nike Terminator High Basic might have been more exciting had it released while the Hoyas were still alive, but then again, you’re not going to get a better confluence of ’80s basketball with timeless style, and that’s what the Terminator is all about.  Click through to see more of this D-ringed Term High and look for them at select Nike Sportswear accounts including the UK’s End.

Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 Low Holiday 2011 Colorways

Sneaker News just brought you a look at several Hyperfuse 2011 colorways set to hit retail just before the turn of the year, but what about its lowtop counterpart?  Check out these five new Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 Lows, a quintet that shows how much more aggressive the Hyperfuse sequel can look when two-toned colorblocking is applied.  Each of these uses a black ‘underlay’ (save the black joints that opt for grey) that seems to emphasize those sections’ angular design, and seeing one in a Celtic green makes us wonder if Rajon Rondo might break these out for playoff time like last year’s.  Click through to get a better look, let us know which pair is your fave and stick with Sneaker News for word on the Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 Low release dates.  via CK.

Nike Toki Brown Leather

Not sure if you heard, but last summer, LeBron James made a ‘decision’ that will live on in infamy.  ‘Bron showed up to the Greenwich, CT Boys and Girls Club rocking a deep red and white checked button-down with matching Vitamin Water and a pair of raw denim, but we at Sneaker News were keyed in on his choice of the oiled brown leather Nike Toki to finish off the fit.  Those Quickstrikes were a big enough hit last year that Nike Sportswear is bringing their midtop chukka back in a similar look, this time a full grain leather without any piping that adds a unique accent stitch on the lateral toe.  These can be one of your go-to looks to compliment nearly any clothing combination from here to perpetuity and they’re available now at select NSW retailers like Boston’s Concepts.

Nike Lunar Woven Chukka WT White

Near the end of the 2010, Sneaker News gave you a preview at some upcoming Nike Sportswear releases for Spring 2011. One of the standouts from that crop was the Nike Lunar Woven Chukka in a tonal white colorway, with a premium woven leather upper. The upper lace placket, heel tab, and skirt are also constructed of the fine leather material, which meshes well with the ridged Lunar sole. The premium offering from Nike Sportswear is one of those sneakers that only a certain group of people can enjoy, which is the nature of the Nike Woven itself. Hanon-shop has these available now for pre-order, so take a look at the new detailed images below and let us know what you think.
