LeBron James’ Nike Soldier line has taken some interesting turns since the first Soldier release, but one common denominator of the entire line (with the exception of the Soldier II) is the use of a strap on the upper. The Soldier V, however, features a completely unique strap construction, as it extends from the lace-placket to provide not only a cross-foot stability, but also on the in-step. The upper also features a Flywire panel that spans the entire upper of the shoe, with an outsole unit that combines visible Max Air on the heel and Nike Zoom on the forefoot – similar to the LeBron Soldier IV. A similar Zoom x Max apparatus can be seen on the upcoming LeBron 8 P.S. as well. These new Holiday 2011 colorways display a rainbow of team-based colors with grey/white outsoles, and like the previous Soldier releases, the Soldier V will likely be a popular performance shoe for college teams. Continue reading for another look at all five colorways and let us know what you think. via aaronknows.

In India, cricket is more than just a sport. It breaks the barrier of grass field and equipment to Indian culture, permeating the lifestyle of billions and uniting the nation under one color – blue. With much of the world eagerly awaiting the meeting between India and Pakistan in the Cricket World Cup semi-finals, Nike pays tribute to the iconic sport by reinventing the Nike Dunk High, the Nike Basketball classic that has displayed an unparalleled versatility in sport and lifestyle fashion. Drawing upon the true colors of Indian cricket (vibrant blue tones and crisp white), the Dunk High features a blue and white upper with volt laces that matches the electricity surrounding the cricket stadiums and open fields. The ‘Be True‘ championed by Nike Sportswear is held dear to the hearts of the natives, and in particular, the four designers behind this amazing capsule of t-shirt graphics and designs. Archan Nair, Gautam Gajbar, Nida Mahmood, and Raul Chandra were each selected for this great project, exemplified by the statement “Cricket is synonymous with the word ‘Indian’.” Continue reading for a full viewing of the Nike Sportswear Cricket ‘Be True’ Collection as well as the upcoming Dunk High ‘Be True’ releases and let us know what you think of the collection.

Suede and mesh is an unbeatable combination for retro runners and while the materials on this above pictured release are one-degree away, it’s particularly interesting to see the impact of their choice on the tonal grey and ice sole palette. The ‘Wolf Grey’ Air Jordan 5 comes off looking quite a bit different than the similarly shaded ‘Cool Grey’ Air Jordan XI thanks to its use of tumbled nubuck on the uppers, but it’s a nice coincidence that you can carry over pretty much any outfit you successfully paired with the Cool Grey Elevens to this May 14th release. Click through to see some new shots and if you happen to be one of the lucky group who can fit into the US mens sample size 9, grab one of the 5 pairs currently offered by Air-Randy on eBay.

Like the Nike Zoom Kobe Venomenon, Make Sense, and Dream Season, the Nike LeBron Ambassador line was created to branch out from the U.S. basketball market and offer the overseas fanbase with an exclusive collection of footwear at a cheaper price-point. Basketball is one of the most popular team sports in all of Asia and mega-stars of the game like LeBron James receive an astounding royal treatment, which is why LeBron’s ambassadorship of the game is not only important to increasing his personal brand recognition, but the globalization of the NBA. The Ambassador IV features LeBron’s new crown logo at the base of the lace-placket, on an upper that features Flywire and synthetic leather. The midsole design is adopted from the Zoom Soldier IV, and the low cut of the shoe is similar to previous LeBron Ambassador designs. While these will likely not see a U.S. release, these have done well enough in Asia to warrant a fourth installment and possible continuation for years to come. Check out these four new Holiday 2011 colorways after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for more Nike LeBron information and releases. via aaronknows.

There have been a multitude of well deserved technical updates to the Nike SB Dunk Pro in 2011, but nobody saw this change coming. Check out the Nike SB Dunk Low Quickstrike for April 2011, a mix of blue and orange leathers with white laces to match the Dunk’s ubiquitous white midsole that’s sure to draw Knicks/Mets references. But the more interesting comparison is to the most recent preview images we’ve seen of this pair, wherein they’ve looked far more like a UCLA Bruins colorway, the previously yellow-leaning underlay now solidly orange. In light of the clarified palette these might deserve a nickname like ‘Un-Supa’, a fitting throwback during a time when Nike SB is getting back to their roots. These’ll be out soon at select retailers like Brooklyn Projects so click through for more and let us know if you prefer the orange look or that earlier yellow variation.

What can we say: the guy loves the Air Jordan VI. It’s been well-documented that Kanye West has a penchant for the Black/Red colorway (Varsity or Infra-) of the Air Jordan VI, because he’s been spotted a number of times wearing the shoe. His fixture with the Six goes back to earlier last decade to recent times, and it’s mainly been the OG Black/Red joints that Michael won his first championship with. We all affiliate the AJ6 with Michael’s first championship, and with Yeezy being one of the popular hip-hop artists in recent memory, we’d say the Air Jordan VI is ‘Winning’. Check out Yeezy in Air Jordan VI after the jump, and hit up Complex.com for the full feature.

Last night Dwyane Wade rocked a sweet Black/Red/Yellow Player Exclusive colorway of the Air Jordan 2011. You might’ve caught it in our NBA Feet feature from earlier today, but these deserve a second look. Here’s another viewing of that sweet colorway, featuring a black patent leather upper similar to the Air Jordan 2011 ‘Blackout’ with a red midsole and solid yellow outsole. The inner lining features the red tone, while the Jordan Brand insignia on the tongue and heel feature the yellow tone. There’s a lot more in store from Jordan Brand for Dwyane Wade as the season comes to a close, so check out the extra images of this all-new PE colorway below and stick with Sneaker News for more updates.

Dwyane Wade was deemed worthy enough not only to carry on the Air Jordan Legacy, but to blaze his own path within the Jordan Brand history books. The Air Jordan Fly Wade is Dwyane Wade’s first signature shoe with Jordan Brand, drawing cues from the Air Jordan 2011 while maintaining a singular identity. Sneaker News showed you the ‘Infrared’ colorway of the Jordan Fly Wade, but here’s a second detailed look at this upcoming shoe; the upper white mudguard features a prisitine micro-textured finish with a glossy coat, and the perforated sectionals at the base of the lacing as well as the upper grey and black panels offer just the right amount of ventilation to cool down Wade’s feet. The outsole traction is inspired by the Air Jordan 2011, with a firm plate offering added stability where needed. Continue reading for a detailed look at the Air Jordan Fly Wade in the Infrared colorway and stick with Sneaker News for more updates regarding this release. via in52.

When it comes to Nike Sportswear retro runners, they come no OG-er than these. Check out these two upcoming Nike Air Pegasus ’92 releases, a duo whose colorways alone are enough to signal an early ’90s revival. Pairs in white/black/Infrared and beige/blue/orange each have their own way of hearkening back to the golden age, but it’s the dual-density foam soles and distinct angular lines that unite them. To this point, we’ve seen more from the Pegasus 89 so these are a welcome addition to the NSW rotation and should be hitting select retailers soon, with Hanon currently taking pre-orders for a late April ship date.

adidas Skateboarding is All In and while this new collection of footwear doesn’t represent their entire team of riders, it’s certainly a formidable set that includes many of Three Stripes Skate’s heavy hitters. We’ll start with longtime adidas repper Mark Gonzales, whose new adiEase colorway misses the vintage Phillies look by the extent to which its scarlet accents are separated from burgundy. The next two come in with super-simple white-on-black suede designs, a new Dennis Busenitz pro model and the Campus Vulc Lo. Last but not least is an equally subdued Columbia blue adidas Skate, alternately known as the ‘Gonz’ for its affiliation with Mark, yet these omit his name in the typical gold foil in favor of clean as can be white Stripes and sole. Click through to see the entire set and look for these now at select retailers like Politics.

Describing it as ‘controversial’ might be pushing it, but for Diggy Simmons, who has his own footwear line and a father who’s name and icon is immediately attached with adidas, wearing Air Jordans might raise some eyebrows. But Jordans have been a fashion statement in the hip-hop community since the beginnings of the Air Jordan line, so there’s no brand disloyalty here. Diggy Simmons, who attended Tuesday’s Official XXL Freshman Live Concert, wore the Air Jordan III ‘True Blue’ during a live performance in front of a raging crowd. True Blue IIIs are releasing this June, so either Diggy got himself a pair early, broke out a pair from the 2009 Retro. Check out Diggy’s Jordans after the jump and let us know what you think!
