Nike Air Max 1 iD Throw it Down, Shannon Brown by Mizzeecustoms

Nike iD is a dream for those who wish to customize shoes, but lack the necessary tools and handiwork to complete a project. We’ve seen a ton of great Nike iD concepts over the years, and some have taken their iD’s a step further to create an even more personalized pair of kicks. For example, one Air Max 1 fan used Nike iD to customize a pair of Air Max 1′Heinekens’, and then took it a step further by adding some extra accents like a red star patch on the heel and a bottle-cap on the tongue. That Air Max 1 iD Custom (redundant?) took the top spot in one of our Best of WDYWT votes, and maybe these new Nike iD Customs has what it takes to follow suit. Check out this Nike Air Max 1 iD Custom inspired by the Nike Zoom Kobe V ‘Throw it Down, Shannon Brown’ that Brown wore during the 2010 NBA Dunk Contest. It features a white and grey upper with a hot red inner lining and translucent green outsole, with a re-painted blue midsole to match the Kobe V. Mizzeecustoms is known for his complete transformations of shoes, but he shows us here that even the most subtle changes can make huge differences. Check out the gallery below and let us know what you think.

Nike LeBron 8 V/2 Miami Heat Away PE

Whenever a Player Exclusive colorway of a signature shoe surfaces, you already know it’ll be accompanied by it’s opposite version. Take for example the Nike LeBron 8 V/2 Miami Heat Home PE we showed you not long ago; the white upper with red/yellow trim was debuted by Mr. James just last week, and it didn’t take long for him to break out the ‘Away’ version, which featured similar color-blocking, but with an out-of-town Black. Those PE colorways aren’t set to release so getting your hands on a pair isn’t an easy task, unless you go by the name of DJ Clark Kent and get all the Nike goodies you want. Here’s another look at the latest Away PE of the LeBron 8 V/2. The 3M-reflective lace placket is a nice touch to the already sweet colorway of black/red/yellow/white, but it would be even nicer if these hit stores. More pics await you below so take a look and let us know what you think. Additional images via NK.

Celebrity Feet: Flo Rida Air Jordan VII White Orion Blue

Flo Rida was in Las Vegas at the Paris Hotel this last Friday eating out at the Sugar Factory American Brasserie with a friend and later performing at Chateau Nightclub & Gardens. Flo Rida had on a pair of brand new Air Jordan VII Retro’s that were released over the weekend – the new White and Orion Blue colorway – to match his t-shirt and Florida Marlins New Erap 59FIFTY fitted cap. While his Jordans were certainly fresh, he wasn’t the first celebrity we spotted wearing these as Drake and Chris Brown have both been photographed wearing them weeks prior. Check out Flo Rida after the jump and let us know what you think.

Jordan Tokyo 23 Website

Earlier this year Sneaker News gave you an exclusive look at an Air Jordan V in a yellow, black, and white colorway with a unique ’23′ logo on the heel. That particular pair was a promo-type sample for the debut of Jordan Tokyo 23, an all-new Jordan Brand website with an apparent focus on the Japanese market. The sneaker game out in Japan compared to what we have in the U.S. is night and day, so can we expect some special PEs and colorways for Jordan Tokyo 23? Perhaps a release of the sample we showed you? Stay tuned to Sneaker News for more updates on the opening of the Jordan Tokyo 23 Website and let us know what you think Jordan Brand might have in store with this new venture.

Walters x Air Jordan V 60th Anniversary

Very rarely will Jordan Brand collaborate outside it’s own boundaries. And when it does, history tells us that it happens in small quantities. For example, the most recent collaboration that involved Jordan Brand featured UK artist Dave White, and what they created was limited to just 23 pairs! Last October featured Vashtie Kola and the Air Jordan II for kids, and even rapper Eminem had his hand on some Air Jordans as well. One of the most (if not the most) Air Jordan collaborations was with West Coast-based Undefeated, and even then, the shoes weren’t even released. We have news of an upcoming Air Jordan collaboration with Walter’s, a prominent sneaker shop based in Atlanta, GA that has been in the game for over six decades; using the , Jordan Brand will commemorate the 60th Anniversary of Walter’s, immortalizing the sneaker staple with a special colorway inspired by the store’s original colors. What to expect? A black/yellow colorway and an extremely limited run. Take a look at the preview shots below and let us know what you think. via AGS.

Supreme x Vans Chukka 95 New Images

New York-based streetwear giants Supreme have collaborated with Cali skate legends Vans since 1996, so this latest team-up is every bit as anachronistic as the Foamposite-equipped Nike SB ’94.  The Supreme x Vans Chukka ’95 pack includes four different canvas colorways of the classic sneaker-boot, each featuring Off the Wall’s iconic checkerboard pattern on their heels.  Pairs in red, yellow, navy and black each come with matching laces and are slated to hit select retailers this May.  Click through for more, let us know how these compare to the vast archive of previous Supreme x Vans collabo releases and stick with Sneaker News for updates including the US drop date.  via HB

Air Jordan VI South Beach Customs

When LeBron James made his decision to go to Miami, LeBron 8 designer Jason Petrie decided on a ‘South Beach’ inspired colorway – one that was actually a sample colorway the Nike LeBron team had spun up before. Since its release, the South Beach colorway has been incredibly popular and the market value of the LeBron 8 South Beach has seen a steady rise since its release. Check out this Air Jordan VI ‘South Beach’ Custom; it features the signature teal, pink, black, and white colorway infused into the astounding Air Jordan VI silhouette, going with a full teal upper, a black/pink midsole, pink laces, and a translucent outsole. The Air Jordan VI ‘Oreo’ served as the base model for this custom design, and clearly the idea translated onto the shoe seamlessly. Additional details included a paint-splattered wooden box and a hand-painted type-font on the heels reading ‘El Cappy’ and ‘Juan the Blogger’. Check out the detailed gallery below and let us know what you think of this custom pair of Jordans!. via NT.

NBA Feet: LeBron James Nike LeBron 8 V/2 Away PE

Last night, the Cleveland Cavaliers finally got their revenge on the former leader who chose to forsake his kingdom for greener pastures in South Beach. Despite a triple-double performance, LeBron James could not lead Miami to victory over the Cavaliers, but he did wear an all-new Player Exclusive colorway of the Nike LeBron 8 V/2. It features a a Black/White base colorway with a red swoosh and Max Air Unit and a hint of Miami sunset yellow on medial swoosh. The tongue and laces are also entirely red for an extra touch of Heat. Check out LeBron James and his new PE (it’s like he and teammate D-Wade are going tit for tat with PEs lately) and let us know what you think. via Yahoo!.

Air Jordan 1 Retro High Banned New Photos

Michael Jordan is widely considered as the greatest basketball player of all time, but his entrance into the NBA wasn’t equally celebrated.  During MJ’s rookie year, fellow Eastern Conference guard Isiah Thomas sought to freeze Jordan out of the 1985 NBA All Star Game and the league itself fined Mike for every game he wore the grounbreaking Air Jordan 1.  Neither attempt succeeded, of course, and the league’s punishment only served to draw more attention to the first of a long line of brilliant sneakers.

That’s the premise behind the Air Jordan 1 Retro High ‘Banned’, a sneaker we’ve seen change over time since its initial preview back in August 2010.  That first pair featured black ‘X’s over the tongue tag and ankle Wings logo, but only the former remains.  We can see in these new photos that the images we showed you in October offer a better approximation of the tumbled leather side panels, but even those failed to capture this latest look’s depiction of the ‘NIKE AIR’ tongue tags and detailed sockliner.  The former is a nice surprise and the latter includes a variety of text reminders plus a smattering of tiny ‘x’ stitches to finish the theme.  Also of note is that these pictures show a standard Jordan Brand box where we’d been expecting a special package that also utilized the X’d out motif.  Click through for more shots, let us know if this latest version is the best so far and stick with Sneaker News for updates on a ‘Banned’ AJ1 release.  via ChetLsworth on NT
