UNDFTD x Puma Clyde Stripe Off Collection Release Info

Undefeated’s latest collaboration is a labor of love, having been consummated with preview images and a special concert at Las Vegas’ House of Blues on Valentine’s Day 2011.  The UNDFTD x Puma Clyde applies subtly premium craftsmanship to the German Cat’s classic lowtop, removing the side panel Formstripes in favor of a gold foil stamp on the lateral heels.  This nicely compliments the white leather/white sole combo which adds golden brown leather accents on the tongue tags and heel stripes.  These joints are limited to 1500 pairs set to release at select retailers like LA’s Millennium Shoes on April 10th, so click through for more and stick with Sneaker News for updates on the black pair’s availability.

Nike SB Zoom Eric Koston One Sport Red + BlackEric Koston signed with Nike SB nearly two years ago and we’re finally almost ready to see his first Swooshed signature sneakers hit retail.  After last year’s namesake Dunk Low SB and the ‘Thai Temple’ Highs both featured an upgraded outsole compound designed by Koston himself, 2011 will be a year when the Nike SB Zoom Koston One makes its mark on the performance skateboarding market.  These joints are crafted in suede as have been many of the best skate sneakers in history, but technical elements like a Zoom Air-embedded LunarLon insole and specially designed traction pattern ensure these will offer a responsive and comfy ride.  And it sure doesn’t hurt to have great colorways on tap for the initial release, the Sport Red and Tourmaline edition offering a wild look that’s balanced nicely by another in black with Dark Grey accents.  Click through for detailed shots of both and stick with Sneaker News for exact details on these models currently scheduled to release in June.  via Kasina

Nike Air Max 95 Neutral Grey Mandarin Orange | Available

In 2009, Nike Sportswear released a slew of Nike Air Max 95 colorways in the original black/grey/white/enter-your-color-here colorway. One of the most popular of the bunch was the Team Orange release, so if you missed out on those or need to double up, look no further; Nike Sportswear is re-releasing the classic ninety-five blocking, this time accompanied by Mandarin Orange, a lighter hue of orange than the vibrant (and sometimes mistakenly red) Team Orange from the 2009 version. When we last previewed these, the sample images showed a black upper mesh, but the production version has reverted (thankfully) to the classic white. With that said, 95s never, ever get old, so hit up Extra Butter and other Nike Sportswear retailers to round out your weekly rotation, or grab one now on eBay.

Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke by Paul NguyenPaul Nguyen describes himself as relatively new to the sneaker game, having built a respectable collection of somewhere north of a hundred pairs.  But as you might expect from someone who makes rent as a nuclear medicine technologist -slash- photographer, Paul shares the sneakerhead-common characteristic of high attention to detail.  You can see this in the blog he created to show off his burgeoning love and particularly in Nguyen’s latest Nike Air Force 1 Bespokes.

The story goes that his parents required some kind of disciplined activity of young Paul so he chose scouting over martial arts or piano lessons.  Having seen the dope camo Bespokes from the ATF crew in recent weeks, he wanted to craft something similar but discovered that Mayor himself had provided the Gore-Tex  material, so Paul had to go in another direction to celebrate his scouting roots.  Looks like that was all for the best, though, cos even if he didn’t get the pair he first imagined, dude’s Bespokes are quite simply one of the best we’ve seen here on Sneaker News.

Their upper is entirely khaki waxed canvas with the olive green sockliner paired to match the scout uniforms he grew up wearing, plus purple on the Swoosh underlay and heel tab to echo the troop’s emblem.  Natural cork Swooshes subtly further this outdoorsy theme and Paul finished the design with “Gum bottoms because gum bottoms on anything is FIRE!”  We totally agree with you, Paul, and props for a job very well done.  More photos follow the jump so click through to see some additional angles and let us know how these compare to the other Air Force 1 Bespokes we’ve profiled, then set an appointment at 21 Mercer to make your own.

Spike Jonze x Lakai Pico

One of the least pretentious of a class of creatives you might call ‘modern geniuses’, Spike Jonze will go down as one of the most influential filmmakers of this generation.  From his music videos for The Breeders and Pharcyde to the mind-melting films with Charlie Kaufman and a smattering of skate videos throughout his career, Jonze has proved to be among the most innovative and versatile minds in the motion picture industry.  Spike directed skate sneaker brand Lakai‘s Fully Flared video back in 2007, so we can see this new Spike Jonze x Lakai Pico as something of a thank you for all his hard work.  These joints come in a neutral mix of white and off-white tones that adds just enough purple to pop from the tongue and heel.  A subtly satisfying adaptation of one of Lakai’s staples, these joints just his select retailers and you can see more when you click on the jump below.  via FNG

Shinzo x Reebok Insta Pump Fury April 2011

Shinzo is one of Paris’ finest sneaker boutiques and while their website greets you with an MJ-wrapped, Alan Parsons Project-scored intro that’ll have you imagining you heard “And now, your starting lineup for the world champion Chicago Bulls . . .” they’re versatile enough to realize having connections with multiple brands is the best way to succeed.  Check out this new collaborative edition of a classic first released around the time Mike first retired from basketball, the Shinzo x Reebok Insta Pump Fury.  These would have that Chicago-style ‘Bred’ touch were it not for a hunter green overlay that gives these the classic Gucci look.  The Insta Pump Fury is notoriously hard to come by here in the States and it looks like that’ll continue as these are slated to drop in mid-April from Euro retailers like Hanon.  Click through for more and stick with Sneaker News for word of a possible, if unlikely US drop date.  via FNG

ALIFE Everybody Hi Official Spring 2011

New York’s ALIFE was one of the first boutiques to offer its own sneaker lineup and one that’s stood the test of time was probably not coincidentally an established silhouette.  The ALIFE Everybody borrows heavily from Nike’s Dunk vamp and adds a chunkier cup sole, this ‘Official Pack’ setting itself apart with prominent ‘a’ branding on the side panels of a canvas design with suede on the ankle collar.  Each pair features the same golden brown suede section, which looks quite different on white, tan and royal blue pairs, all of which should be available in the states shortly as they just dropped at Japan’s FLAUGE.

Air Jordan III Andruw Jones LA Dodgers PE Cleats

After a great career with the Atlanta Braves, Andruw Jones signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers as a free agent during 2007-2008 offseason. Jones’ performance took a heavy dip (a sure-fire understatement), which led him to being released by the club just one year after signing a hefty two-year contract, but he was still a huge fan draw in Los Angeles. During that one-season stint, Jones was given this sweet pair of Air Jordan III PE Cleats, which featured a dodger blue and white with red accents. If these look familiar to you, that’s because Sneaker News showed you the exact same colorway of these PEs, but in Turf Trainer form. These feature an MCS outsole, so these would be perfect for those who have an upcoming baseball season. Check out the detailed gallery after the jump and pick up these rare Air Jordan PE Cleats from lilshk54321 on eBay.

Sneaker News Goes Inside The ShoeZeum Part 4: Running

Sneaker News continues its coverage of the ShoeZeum, with a focus on one of curator Jordan Geller’s most sentimental exhibits – Nike Running. Jordan’s love for Nike runs in the family, as his father, an avid and successful marathon runner, wore Nike Running models in his races; Jordan was surrounded by Nike runners throughout his youth, and it was this early exposure that played a role in assembling the greatest sneaker showcase we’ve ever seen. It’s an exhibit built on history and cultivated with passion, and plays a vital role of ‘pacemaker’ for the entire ShoeZeum.

This specialty wing of the ShoeZeum begins with the History of Air conveyor belt, which houses every flagship Air Max running shoe from its inception twenty-four years ago. Beginning with the iconic Air Max 1 and Air Max 90 and ending with the revolutionary Air Max 2011, the Air Max conveyor belt showcases some of Jordan’s favorite sneakers of all time, as well as his personal favorite – the Nike Air Max 97 in the original ‘Silver Bullet’ colorway! This particular piece of the exhibit serves to highlight the innovation, evolution, and style of the Nike Air Max legacy, and acts as a precursor to the entire ShoeZeum – one that is rife with innovation, evolution, and style in all of its nooks and crannies.

In addition to the Air Max conveyor belt, one entire aisle of the ShoeZeum is dedicated to the history of Nike Running spanning twenty four years. The Nike Running aisle houses countless colorways of many of Nike’s greatest Air Max running shoes along with some of the non-flagship gems, like the Air Max 96, Air Max Tailwind II, Air Max TL 4, and Air Max 120. Jordan shows no restraint in his love for Nike Air Max Running, as this impressive aisle – one of the many outstanding sections of the ShoeZeum – is loaded with Air Max heat from front to end.

Finishing off the Nike Running aisle is a piece of Nike history that you may not have even known about – and it’s not even a shoe. Take a look at ‘Irreverence Justified’; made up of the same golden leather used on Michael Johnson’s historic shoe made infamous during the 1996 Olympics, ‘Irreverence Justified’ is an incredibly rare artifact of Nike history, a miniaturized tome detailing Nike’s alchemic touch on performance footwear. As you flip through the book, you will see a compilation of several Nike shoes over the years, starting with Jordan’s prized ShoeZeum possession, the Nike Pre Montreal, and ending with blank pages, alluding to the fact that Nike’s innovation will fill up page after page for years to come. Of course, pictures speak a thousand words, so check out the preview video below and head on over to Sneaker News HD for a full gallery of images showcasing Nike Running history at its finest!

Celebrity Feet: Wale Nike Air Foamposite Pro Pine Green

One of the newest signee’s to Rick Ross’ music label, Maybach Music, is none other than rapper/sneaker aficionado Wale, who made an appearance on BET’s 106 & Park this week to discuss his new deal and some upcoming projects. Wale’s choice of sneakers for the appearance on the popular countdown show was a pair of the unreleased Nike Air Foamposite Pro in Pine Green and Black. This is the same pair that we saw Wale with back in late February during NBA All-Star Weekend when it was first announced that he had signed with Rick Ross’ label. Terrence J. didn’t shy away from bringing out some heat for the show as he wore a pair of the upcoming Air Jordan VII ‘Bordeaux’ that’s scheduled to be released shortly. Stay tuned for more information regarding these Foamposite Pro’s that are scheduled to hit retail stores in September, and check out Wale’s latest kicks after the jump.
