One of the biggest Jordan stories of 2011 came in mid-February, when we learned of a once-in-a-lifetime collaboration between two of the most iconic figureheads of the sneaker game. In celebration of the Jordan Brand WINGS for the Future Program, Jordan Brand teamed up with world-renown artist Dave White to re-create the original Air Jordan 1 silhouette in a patriotic mosaic of colors and graphics. The finished product resonated inspiration while highlighting Dave White’s signature style of artistry, with a gold-tipped toe, signature paint splatter marks, red brush-stroke stripes on the heel, and stars dotted on the upper. Each of twenty-three pairs were auctioned off to sneakerheads, with all proceeds going to the WINGS for the Future Program, but if you missed out on owning this collectible, your chance has now risen again. The Dave White x Air Jordan 1 is truly one of the best collaborations we’ve seen in a long time, so take a look at this new detailed gallery of images below and get your pair now from poofyo101jumpmansneakers on eBay.

Unlike this year’s NCAA Tournament that will see either Butler or VCU play for a national title, the Sneaker News March Madness OG Air Jordan Tournament hasn’t seen anything even close to a Cinderella run. In fact, through thte first two rounds, there has only been one upset! The Sweet 16 round saw some pretty juicy matchups, but somehow every favorite advanced to the Elite Eight Round despite some very narrow victories by the White/Cement Air Jordan III and Bred Air Jordan IV over the Carmine VI and Columbia XI respectively. We’ll have to wait to see if the underdogs can make some noise in the Elite Eight as there will be some pretty tight competition across the board. Check out the Sweet 16 results below and head over the Sneaker News HD for a better look at the updated brackets. Voting for the Elite Eight round will begin tonight so stay tuned for more SN March Madness action coming soon.

The Nike5 Gato Street, slated for a worldwide release this April, was designed with the small-sided footballer in mind. It’s for the pick-up game after the work, the quick match in-between classes, or the neighborhood game in the alley-way. The Nike5 Gato Street is football-ready with street-style in mind, and it’s presenting a strong case at being included as one of Sneaker News’ Top 30 of 2011. This new colorway is in collaboration with Nitraid (can’t get more ‘street’ than that), featuring a two-toned upper in a suede construction. A special graphic on the inner lining, resembling Nitraid’s signature camouflage pattern, is used for an added visual pop. Expect these at select retailers this May, so take another look below and let us know what you think. via hidden-champion.

Sneaker News recently gave you a look at the latest Air Max 1 iD options and the standout samples were those that featured tonal-upper colorways. Following that with Friday’s Air Max 1 ‘Honeycomb’ in canvas, it looks like the Air Max 1 is refreshed and ready to go for the Summer 2011 season. Here’s another reason to get excited – an all new Brown Kelp/Red-White colorway that features the same color-blocking, using a tonal upper, white swoosh, and secondary color on the bottom sole. We can expect a few more colorways in this style (canvas/suede uppers, simple colorways), so check out the extra shots below for another look and pre-order one now at end.

Here’s a look at a great recap of NBA Feet over the past weekend; starting off on Friday, Dwyane Wade sported yet another new PE colorway of the Air Jordan 2011, featuring a white upper, red midsole, and yellow outsole. Teammate LeBron James wore his new White/Red Home PE of the LeBron 8 V/2 as well. Some other notables from the weekend were the two Air Jordan XIII colorways worn by Gerald Wallace, Dominic McGuire’s Air Jordan XI Space Jam, Tony Parker’s tonal metallic silver Zoom Brave IV, and the adidas KG Bounce worn by Michael Beasley. Even though much of our attention has been focused on the NCAA Tournament, the NBA weekend was still jam packed with heat, so take a look at the full weekend recap below and let us know who rocked the best kicks. via ESPN.

The low-cut has been the running buddy of the flapship LeBron shoe each year since the Zoom LeBron II, so here’s a look at the long-anticipated Nike LeBron 8 V/2 Low; it features the same upper construction, utilizing a Ashiko-style Flywire upper shell and perforated mesh inner liner. The trademark high tongue of the LeBron 8 is carried over to the low, giving these an illusory height; while it doesn’t appear to be very low-cut, note that the upper-most lace eyelet is the figure-8 opposed to the two additional lace eyelets in the regular Mid version. This new colorway features a vibrant blue upper with a volt Max Air unit, inner lining, and swoosh border, with a white swoosh and midsole. These are expected to drop this Summer 2011 season so take another look below and let us know what you think of the upcoming Nike LeBron 8 V/2 Low. via hoopchina.

Nike Air Force 1s have been on quite a roll recently. It’s a worthwhile debate as to whether this started around the time of last year’s 5 Boroughs Pack or perhaps a bit earlier but it’s perfectly clear Nike Sportswear is going back ‘Uptown’, crafting a series of AF1s in irresistibly simple colorways, the latest of which represents the convergence of a number of recent trends. This new Air Force 1 ’07 is done with the synthetic leather and woven textile combo we’ve seen on several recent Dunks in a tonal Tech Grey getup that echoes the most popular neutral look for today, finishing things off with the gum rubber outsole that so many sneaker purists are happy to see as a sign of classic style. Click through to see more of this latest AF1 Low and grab yours from the only place that has ‘em, England’s JD Sports.

Appropriate that he designed most of the early Air Jordans including all of MJ’s championship-winning kicks, cos Tinker Hatfield is the Michael Jordan of sneaker designers. The combination of inimitable timing and unprecedented excellence means there will simply never be another Tinker, and this past weekend a select few lucky invitees got a chance to sit down with Nike’s legendary designer at a private event put together and hosted by Sole Fly in Miami. Inside the Sneaker Box created a special ‘Innovation Kitchen’ tee to present to its head chef, a look that echoes the recent Jordan BCT promo materials as a thank you for two hours of priceless facetime with one of the true geniuses of the footwear world. Big thanks to ITSB’s Clyde for hooking us up with photos from the Sole Fly event. You can check out a series of images if you click on the jump below.

The 2011 NCAA March Madness Tournament is living up to its reputation as the most exciting, upsetting, and thrilling sports event of the year. Back in the 20th Century, Kevin Garnett repped Nike, taking on an entire neighborhood in a pick-up game at the park and acting as a counselor for Camp Flight. Garnett’s moved around quite a bit since then (AND1, adidas, and now ANTA), but his short-lived stint with the Swoosh is still recognized today, with the recent re-released of the Nike Air Flightposite II as a reminder that KG was once a Nike athlete. Garnett was still under the Nike umbrella in 2000, when he was part of the Team USA Basketball in the 2000 Olympics, and was the recipient of this gorgeous Nike Air Flightposite One Player Exclusive with his Team USA ’10′ stitched on the upper ankle collar. It features a white upper with a navy blue secondary color. The rarity of these PEs is indeterminable, but be certain that these are among the most hard-to-find Nike PEs ever created! Check out the extra images below, and to test your bidding skills, take a look at the auction from strongsauce on eBay.

Sneaker News first showed you the unreleased sample version of the Nike Air Max 2010; it featured a patent leather mudguard with a mesh upper, with five Flywire panels falling from the lace eyelets. The same running-specific 360 Max Air unit was used, but the upper design is obviously completely different from the released version of the Air Max 2010. Many of our readers were very happy with the design of these, but all in all these were a bit too similar to the Air Max 2009 for it to warrant full production. Here’s a look at a Grey/Purple of this unreleased Air Max 2010 sample; it features the same patent leather upper mudguard with hints of purple on the tongue, laces, and inner lining. Want to add something rare to your Air Max collection? Check out the extra shot below and hit up the auction from 1life1love on eBay.
