Big names and faces gathered at Good Units in Hell’s Kitchen last night to celebrate the UNDFTD x Puma Collection, highlighting the rejuvenated Puma Clyde, an urban culture icon and mainstay of the current and past generation. With special guests Adam Leaventon (Director of Merchandising), Biz Markie, Eddie Cruz of UNDFTD, and Mike Packer of Packer Shoes, the venue was filled from front to back with eager friends and fans of the label with good moods flowing around the room. On display was a timeline of great Puma Clyde colorways and collaborations, like the Yo! MTV Raps, the Puma x Bode, and some classic suedes that underscore the fashionable nature of the brand over decades. The Sneaker News Exclusive preview of the Air Jordan V in Yellow/Black was revealed to be a special colorway for the opening of Jordan Tokyo23, a Jordan-centric shop set up in Tokyo, Japan. Sneaker News also showed you a special colorway of the Jordan CP3.IV in a grey/yellow colorway matching the storefront colors. Here’s another detailed look at these two upcoming releases; both the Air Jordan V and CP3.IV are slated to released in late April 2011, possibly in conjunction with the official opening of Jordan Tokyo23 (still under construction). Both the Air Jordan V and CP3.IV featured the unique ’23′ logo – the side-heel of the AJV and the heel on the CP3.IV. With the above pictured Nike Dunk High Premium offering its crinkled patent leather and ice sole construction to an obsidian pair and the unofficially linked all-white Blazer Mid going for a similar huddle-up with a black edition, the Nike Sportswear ‘White Pack’ has come to be one of the great mysteries of 2011. At least we know the designs are dope, though, as these new images of the Dunk High and Air Force 1 Low make patently obvious. Both feature the same uniquely uneven glossy finish plus an icey translucent sole that gives way to graphics on the bottom, a recipe for success that’s sure to be a quick seller once they hit retail here in the US. Over the 2011 NBA All-Star Weekend, Nike iD presented the Nike Zoom KD III iD Design Contest, in which Kevin Durant himself will hand-select and wear a fan-submitted design for Oklahoma City’s April 10th showdown against the Los Angeles Lakers. In keeping with the LA setting, Kevin Durant has selected a clear Lakers-inspired colorway of his Zoom KD III, featuring a black pebbled leather upper, a purple Flywire panel and outsole, and yellow swoosh, iD text, and laces. A bit strange to be repping the colors of the opposing team, but keep in mind that Durant’s AAU team the PG Jaguars has a similar colorway (remember the Zoom KD II colorway?). The Jordan Brand Classic will switch venues for 2011, as the exhibitionary game featuring the nation’s top High School basketball players will take place in Charlotte, NC. Last year, Sneaker News gave you a firsthand look at the Jordan Brand Classic, which featured the players wearing Air Jordan 2010 PEs, and you can expect the same this year with the Air Jordan 2011. Here’s a first look at the Air Jordan 2011 Jordan Brand Classic PEs; the ‘East’ will wear an Orion Blue colorway, which features a black upper and white midsole, while the ‘West’ squad will don a fierce Comet Red with a Black midsole. It’s the perfect representation of the two counteracting elements translated into sneaker form, and you can expect these on court during the star-studded Jordan Brand Classic next Saturday.
UPDATE: According to Jumpman Twitter, the Air Jordan 2011 Jordan Brand Classic PE’s will release on 4/14.

Kobe Bryant’s Los Angeles Lakers are now pretty well locked into the Western Conference’s 2nd seed for the upcoming 2011 playoffs, so it seems fitting that we’d see two new Nike Zoom Kobe VIs in white, black and yellow hit retailers this month. The above pictured pair is one of those rare cases where they’re the lighter but not brighter of a duo, their white and grey base considerably calmer than the Lightbulb and Del Sol edition, yet they still find space for the latter of those yellow shades on this expertly blocked release. Tinker Hatfield recently made a visit to Sole Fly in Miami for ‘askTinker‘, a Q&A session with the greatest performance footwear designer of all time. There’s a lot to learn from someone who basically laid the blueprint for the entire sneaker game, and the attendees most certainly left with a bit of extra Nike and Jordan Brand history known to just a few. Tinker starts off by showing off the new Jordan Trainer shoe – the Jordan BCT Low, and then delves a bit further into Nike and Jordan Brand timeline and history. Albert Pujols is conspicuous by his absence atop the early season National League batting statistics charts and his St. Louis teammates have stumbled out of the gate, but we know that at least one Cardinal will be around come playoff time.
