The Texas 8 isn’t a band of rebel outlaws, but the amount of heat they’re carrying is certainly a crime. The Texas 8, also known as The Heatseekers Krew, traveled from Texas to New York City for a 21 Mercer takeover, a two-day Bespoke event in which each of the eight members customized and personalized his/her own Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke. The Texas 8 isn’t your run of the mill group of sneakerheads; it includes members of all ages and interestingly enough, a father-daughter combo, and each of their Bespoke ideologies carry a unique backstory. It wasn’t until the Sneaks Up event this past weekend in San Antonio that the Texas 8 was finally given their Bespoke creations, and they consequently placed them on display at the event, winning the award for Best Sneaker Display. Continue reading for a photo recap of the Texas 9 Bespoke Story and let us know what you think.

The Nike Air Approach Mid 2.4 is set for a release later this week at select Nike Sportswear retailers, so here’s another look at this retro-inspired boot, part of the Athletics Far East collection. Both colorways feature suede uppers with rugged canvas toe-boxes with a woodsy plaid graphic pattern on the upper. The design of the Air Approach is like a mish-mash of previous Nike ACG classics like the Air Magma and Air Lava, but they are all one in the same as the Air Approach Mid 2.4 looks to carry on the ACG heritage of rugged, outdoor-ready yet stylish shoes. Continue reading for a detailed look and stay tuned for a release this April 23rd. via HS.

Ken Griffey Jr. bounced around a bit towards the tail end of his career (like most aging stars do), but he might a righteous return to Safeco field for his last hurrah as a professional baseball player. He actually played a healthy portion of the 2009 season, slamming an extra 19 homers to run his all-time total to 630 round-trippers, and upon retiring last season, Griffey’s enjoyed the notoriety for having one of the best Nike Retro signature lines of the decade. He was even spotted making a cameo appearance in the Nike x Foot Locker – Cool Kids Get Fresh Air video, in which served up some fresh Air Max JRs to Amare Stoudemire. The Air Griffey Max II in the OG Freshwater colorway will be one of the hottest releases of the year is slated for an official release this 23rd, but you can grab them a bit early at Extra Butter or on eBay.

With the showering of Air Jordan 2011 colorways in April, what sort of flowers can we expect in May? After the Blackout release and the two Jordan Brand Classic drops last week, three new Air Jordan 2011 colorways (yes, three) are slated for a release on the final day of April; first up is the Black/Neo Lime colorway, which features a reptilian green/black mudguard, the vibrant Tech Grey/Orion Blue that offers a splash of levity, and the fierce Varsity Red/Wolf Grey that combines the feral red with two tones of grey. All three Air Jordan 2011 colorways will hit Jordan Brand retailers on April 30th with a $170 price-tag, so continue reading for another detailed look at these three colorways and stay tuned to Sneaker News for more information regarding the availability of these releases.

When the Nike Air Max 360 BB Low ‘Focus Pack’ first appeared in early March, its bracket-graphic’d insoles had us expecting these as a March Madness tie-in. But the NCAA basketball tournaments have come and gone, which lends credence to the theory that these ‘mini’ brackets were smaller than 68 for a reason. They feature just enough teams and rounds to account for the NBA Playoffs converging into June’s Finals, and while we haven’t seen any of the Association’s ballers rocking these in a game, the ‘Focus’ AM360 BB Lows are starting to hit retailers. Half of the four-pack is currently available at NikeStore and you can see more shots of the Bright Mango and Chlorine Blue pairs when you click on the jump below.

‘Sneakers’ themselves seem fitting, but if you were really going undercover, you wouldn’t plaster your brand name all over your footwear right? But that’s the concept behind Jun Takahashi‘s UNDERCOVER label, anyway, a play on the Japanese phrase that referred to girls who wore athletic gear with no concern for its performance application. So it’s not without some sense of irony that you see his name along with Hiroshi Fujiwara’s fragment design emblem blazoned across the vulcanized soles of the UNDERCOVER x fragment x Nike Match Classic, a pack whose clean blue and grey suede uppers are every bit as clean as their soles are wordy. UNDERCOVER stores in Japan have already gotten their shipments but we’ll have to wait for a US drop, so click through for more and stick with Sneaker News for updates on their stateside release date.

When the Nike ACG Air Moc LT first appeared in a black leather weave, we had no idea that All Conditions Gear had two additional insane colorways on deck. But then again, that’s one of the trademarks from ACG’s golden age, and while these don’t necessarily combine their ultrabrite uppers with anything too crazy in terms of accent shades, the all-over Team Orange and lime green looks are enough to turn heads all the same. Click through to get a better look, let us know which pair you like best so far and stick with Sneaker News for updates because these should hit select Nike Sportswear retailers shortly. via HB

Japanese clothing label SOPHNET. recently crafted a couple of Nike Blazer Mid ABs to debut that side-zippered design, a look they’d pioneered on the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star a couple years back. Here’s further proof that the brand loves to put their name on unique footwear collaborations, the SOPHNET. x Nike ACG Air Deschutz. This model is the latest in All Conditions Gear’s longest running sandal series, this newest design featuring three strap enclosures on the Air-cushioned base. These joints will drop on in conjunction with the JR Osaka Isetan Mitsukoshi grand opening on May 4th, both pairs available there, Isetan Shinjuku and SOPH. Tokyo, while the SOPH. e-store will only have the navy pair and additional select Nike Sportswear accounts will only get the white edition. A whole buncha vulc-soled goodness just hit Nike SB retailers, six new pairs spread across six different models so you know there’s something for everyone. Let’s start with the above pictured Nike SB Zoom P-Rod 2.5 in the ‘Cali’ colorway celebrating Paul’s home state. Fellow California native Stefan Janoski doesn’t follow a legendary Dunk SB release for his newest but a beige/white/gum colorway of his lowtop signature is equally satisfying. Elsewhere on the nautically-inspired skate shoe scene is the Zoom Harbor SB in frayed Team Red canvas, while new Blazer CS and V-Rod colorways keep their red limited to accent hits. And last but not least is a new Dark Grey Zoom Bruin SB that adds a Swoosh to put a twist on a similar Charcoal suede look that was popular in late ’09. Click through to see the entire set and check for these now at select Nike SB retailers like Ben-G.

Can you spot the differences? Here’s a look at a preliminary sample version of the Air Jordan 2011 in the Black/Dark Charcoal colorway that released two Saturdays ago. It features the same black patent leather mudguard and upper, but this particular version features the white mesh on the window located on the upper ankle of the shoe. The released version features a blacked-out material for the full tonal appeal. Other discrepancies include the heel tab – total black on this sample, striped with grey on the released version – as well as the inner lining (appears to be white here, released version uses a silver/grey). Which version do you prefer? Check out the extra images below and if you haven’t picked up a pair of the Blackout Air Jordan 2011s, grab ‘em now at Foot Locker or on eBay.
