Nike Air Venture VNTG Neutral Grey Photo Blue Neo Lime Sail

Nike Sportswear has taken a concerted effort in getting back to its roots. Last year, we saw the Nike All Court make an indomitable return to the lifestyle game, but 2011 has seen more from the Nike Running department. The Nike V-Series made a welcome return in OG and new colorways, like this Neutral Grey, Photo Blue, Neo Lime, and soft Sail colorway of the Nike Air Venture. Unlike the Lunar Venture, which took a step forward, this one takes it back with the signature VNTG treatment on the midsole. Check out the extra shots below and pick up a pair now from id4shoes on eBay.

Nike Air Max Flight 11 NBA PEs | Available @ House of Hoops

Just two of of the four NBA players enshrined with these Air Max Flight ’11 PE’s are still in action at the moment, but the other two, Tyreke Evans and Steph Curry, have bright futures ahead of ‘em with plenty of Playoff appearances in the cards. Evans, Curry, Russell Westbrook, and Brandon Roy make up the core of rising backcourt stars in the league, and while it isn’t very likely that any of the four will receive his own signature shoe, they’ve got enough game to be represented thoroughly on Nike Basketball’s best sneakers. Sneaker News has already shown you the Nike Air Max Flight ’11 NBA PE’s before, but take a detailed look at all four below; once you’ve decided which one is your favorite, head over to House of Hoops for a pair right now.

WeAreHQ x Puma Suede Mid Royal Wedding Customs

With British Royal Wedding spoofs winning the meme du jour award, we’re somewhat surprised there haven’t been more sneaker tie-ins with Prince William’s nuptials.  It was somewhat natural to see New Balance, who keeps factories running in the UK, to offer their own salute to the gala event, but this new Puma Suede Mid Royal Wedding custom collection is a bit less expected.  London-based WeAreHQ had six different street artists customize seven pairs of the royal blue midtop Suede silhouette with results ranging from a wacky riding boot design to more obvious nods like a veiled getup.  Click on the jump below to see the entire set and let us know which one’s best.

Nike Air Max Light Neutral Grey Photo Blue Neo Lime | Available

What would happen if you combined the ‘Sprite’ and ‘Wolf Grey’ Nike LeBron 8 V2 Lows into a single colorway?  It might look something like this new Nike Air Max Light, a retro runner that quite naturally fits this blend of neutral base and springy accents.  In fact, the palette fits so perfectly you might even wonder if these could have been an OG colorway from this model’s 1989 debut as the ‘Air Max II’.  But it is in fact a fresh look and one that’s bound for sleeper hit status this season, so click through to see more images and grab yours from select Nike Sportswear retailers like Schuh-You.

Nike Air Max 97 White Black Patent Metallic Silver

The Nike Air Max 97 is a model best known for its OG Silver Bullet colorway but despite this shiny default it has used less patent leather than any of the Nike Sportswear Air Max retro running series.  Perhaps this is because its sweeping design lends itself more naturally to synthetics and this new release features its fair share of mesh on the upper tiers but utilizes the mudguard layer for a glossy black base.  It’s a nice contrast compared to the otherwise white and silver design and could look great with a carefully selected pair of brightly colored laces.  Click through to see more and grab yours from select NSW retailers like FinishLine.

NEXUSVII x adidas Originals Canvas Lowtops
Japanese streetwear brand NEXUSVII
has offered their fair share of sneaker collaborations in recent years but for their latest the label has gone one step further and offered a brand new silhouette.  Actually, the NEXUSVII x adidas Originals lowtops might not really be completely new, their lowtop silhouette falling somewhere in between Converse’s classic Chuck Taylor All Star and Jack Purcell models, but the use of a bold arc of white dashes around the ankle collar is certainly unique.  Also worth noting is the medial midsole text and a flowy Disney-style logo on the tongue tag, all of which will be available at select Asian retailers shortly.  via HB

Asics Gel Saga II Upcoming Colorways

Nike Sportswear has done a great job of resurrecting forgotten classic runners and giving them a new chance to shine in the current age where sneakers are perhaps more appreciated than at any other point in history.  And while Asics continues to pump out great Gel Lyte III and GT II colorways, it’s somewhat less common to see the Onitsuka Tiger reach into their vault to dust off a buried gem.  But check out this new duo of Asics Gel Saga IIs, a model returning in its original black and purple colorup plus a retrofied white edition with royal and yellow accents.  Click through to see more images, let us know how these compare to the other Asics retro running releases and stick with Sneaker News for updates on their availability.  via SF

Sneaker News Weekly Rewind: 4/16 4/22

Before LeBron James and the Heat began their quest for the 2011 Championship, Sneaker News had the opportunity to wear-test the all-new LeBron 8 P.S. and analyze its lightweight capabilities. Not much later, LeBron debuted the shoe during Game 1 of the Heat/Sixers series, and thus far, the entire NBA Playoffs has been a showcase for some new sneakers like the adidas Crazy Light and Air Jordan Fly Wade. Another notable shoe to have debuted this postseason is Carmelo Anthony’s Melo M7 Advance, a shoe that Sneaker News gave you a first-hand exclusive look at. Spike Lee joined Melo in the NY sneaker spotlight, as the big-time Knick fan boasted two new PE colorways of the Air Jordan Spiz’ike. Kobe Bryant sported some Jordan Retros before the Lakers’ Game 1 showdown with the Hornets as well.

However, amidst the NBA Playoff frenzy and the collection of new signature shoes was Kanye West’s Air Yeezy 2 – a shoe he wore during his performance at Coachella and later again in London. Other notable sneakers of the week included an all-new Air Force 1 High and Low, two new premium editions of the Nike5 Gato Street, the inspirational Manny Pacquiao x Nike Summer 2011 Collection, and a plethora of upcoming Nike SB releases slated for a release for the remainder of the year. The recently released Nike Free Run+ 2 was the focus of the City Pack, which paid tribute to five major cities known for their dedication to the sport of running. A group of Texas-based sneakerheads began a journey from their home-town to New York City for a two-day Bespoke experience, with their shoes resulting in a ‘Best Sneaker Display’ award at a sneaker show. Finally, the Sneaker News staff put a spotlight on some of Michael’s most memorable moments in his career in the latest Michael Jordan Through The Years feature. There’s plenty more to see so check out this week’s Sneaker News Weekly Rewind!
