A variety of adidas Basketball athletes debuted the new adidas adiZero Crazy Light when NBA Playoff action began this weekend, none more successful than Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose, whose 39 points guided the East’s number one seed to a comeback victory at home. Chi-town figures to be a serious contender for the Larry O’Brien trophy this year which means we’ll be seeing even more of the Crazy Light through mid-June, so how about a new round of photos to get a better look at this insanely lightweight basketball sneaker. Coming in at a practically weightless 9.8 oz, the Crazy Light relies on the super-thin SPRINTWEB upper to keep your foot securely fastened onto a Torsion System suspended, Bounce-cushioned sole. Click through for a closer look at four upcoming colorways and expect these at select retailers including Eastbay on June 3rd.

Despite the vast amount of Air Jordan colorways to have released, there still exists a large number of ‘dream’ colorways that we can only imagine (until Jordan Brand runs out of ideas). An imagination is a powerful thing, and combined with a slick Photoshop touch, you can create some interesting renditions of classic Air Jordans in some never-before seen color-combinations. Niketalk member Jayzrdead put his mind to the computer screen by creating some interesting colorways that he’d like to see on Air Jordans, and some of these themes may look familiar to you. Not only does he transfer classic AJ editions like the ‘Bordeaux‘, ‘True Blue‘, and ‘Cool Grey‘ onto different shoe, he brings in some outside themes, like last year’s phenomenal ‘South Beach‘ motif and the trio of Air Yeezy colorways. Check ‘em out below and vote for your favorite colorway of each photoshopped Air Jordan to let us know which versions you’d most like to see become a reality!

Earlier this year the Air Jordan 6-17-23 released in a colorway regarded by many to be the best AJ6 colorway in history (ahem, Carmine). Later this month, the script will be flipped to the Air Jordan XVII, as the White/Black-Signal Blue colorway, inspired by the OG ‘College Blue’ version of the XVII, will hit stores. The Air Jordan 6-17-23 combines elements of both Jordan’s sixth and seventeenth shoe, and recent Kemba Walker of the UConn Huskies rode the 6-17-23 to Big East and National Championship glory. The ‘Signal Blue’ colorway features a tonal white upper in smooth leather and pebble-textured leather, with a silver/blue midsole. Continue reading for another look and expect these to hit Jordan Brand retailers later this month.

LeBron James had yet another stellar season, helping Miami to a second seed in the Eastern Conference and a Game 1 victory in the opening round of the NBA Playoffs. However, it’s been somewhat of a ‘down’ year for LeBron in terms of slam dunks and Top-10 highlights, because he’s taken more of a leadership role and switched his focus to the team game rather than a one-vs.-the-world mentality. LeBron’s still managed to throw down some sick monster jams, but we’re still waiting for the ‘Dunkman‘ to be unleashed; perhaps the Playoffs will coerce the explosive ‘Dunkman’ persona to come out of its shell. We can always count on the ‘Dunkman’ edition to be a scene-stealer, and the LeBron 8 P.S. version is surely no slouch. These aren’t set for a release until mid-May, so take a look below for a nice detailed viewing via Kenlu and let us know where these rank among all the LeBron Dunkman releases of the past and get your pair early right now on eBay.

After a crushing final seconds loss to the Boston Celtics in Game 1 of the first round of NBA Playoff action last night, Knicks fans everywhere went to bed heartbroken over the Game 1 road win upset that almost was. One of the only silver linings in the defeat was getting a look at the new playoff edition of Carmelo Anthony’s seventh signature shoe from Jordan Brand. Decked out in an always-fresh royal/orange/black NYK color scheme, Melo’s post season shoe features a thin Flywire-infused composite upper rather than the bulkier, more heavily padded original version, giving it an added performance edge as well as a slick aesthetic reinterpretation.
As a result, the shoe sheds a full ounce of weight, providing Melo with a lighter step underfoot just in time for the playoff second wind, similar to the concept recently seen with the LeBron 8 PS. Much to our delight, a large package arrived this morning containing a pair of the Melo M7 Advance PE’s seen last night, complete with a gorgeous blacked-out wooden box featuring a Melo crest on top and a tonal black Jumpman in front. Inside the box, a “MELO STATE OF MIND” t-shirt is encased in a plexiglass window etched with the tagline, “Born in Brooklyn. Manufactured in Baltimore. Refined on hardwood.” Below the t-shirt are 7 coins, each one symbolizing an aspect of Melo’s life.
After pulling off the top layer of the packaging, the inside reveals the Knicks Melo M7 Advance debuted last night housed in a perfectly carved out foam bedding. It’s historically hard to go wrong with a Knicks colorway and between that and the interesting combination of suede and a Flywire shell on the upper, these definitely don’t disappoint. The Melo M7 has widely been considered to be one of, if not the best Melo signature yet, and this colorway and sleeker stripped-down version might just put it over the top. Check out some more pics of the shoes and collector’s box after the jump, and if you like what you see, the Knicks colorway of the Jordan Melo M7 Advance will hit select retailers on June 1st in standard JB packaging. Much thanks to Jordan Brand for the closer look!

Here’s a second look at the Nike Air Yeezy 2 worn by Kanye West during his memorable performance at Coachella 2011. The construction of the shoe reveals an Air Tech Challenge II midsole with an upper similar to the original Nike Air Yeezy. The tonal black upper appears to be a molded or premium leather featuring a unique texture similar to crocskin, a molded heel (perhaps Foamposite?), a forefoot strap, Yeezy’s logo on the tongue, and a mint green outsole similar to the pigment used in the original Air Yeezy. Check out the additional shots below and stick with Sneaker News for more updates regarding one of the most anticipated shoes. via Ibn Jasper/Assal Deshmeh.

Converse is perhaps the most ‘All-American’ of all sneaker brands, but for their latest collaobration, the One Star hooked up with a British company who’s been keeping the rainy island dry for over a century and a half. The Mackintosh for Converse Jack Purcell ‘Johnny’ utilizes Mackintosh rubberized cotton on three elegant if simple lowtop colorways that each match a run of co-branded jackets. Navy blue, putty grey and olive green editions will hit select Converse First String retailers on April 22nd in the UK with a US release to follow at Union in LA on May 1st. Click through to have a better look and let us know how these compare to some of the other premium Converse releases we’ve seen of late.

On Wednesday, Sneaker News showed you the first images of Bodega’s Nike Air Footscape Woven Chukka whose ‘Black Cat, Good Luck/Bad Luck’ must’ve been a sign of the former, since two other pairs of Footscapes from the same feline family came along later that same day.
