A night before the NFL Draft, ESPN The Magazine held its eighth annual Pre-Draft Party at Espace in New York City. Among the notable celebrities and athletes in attendance was star New York Jets cornerback, Darrelle Revis who hit the scene in a crispy pair of the upcoming Air Jordan III True Blues. Seen below with ESPN’s Steven A. Smith, Revis Island is no stranger to rocking Air Jordan heat as we’ve seen in the past, and he’s not the only one in his crew that’s been breaking necks with his kicks. Darrelle’s manager and longtime best friend, John Geiger, was spotted courtside with Revis at the Knicks game back in March in a pair of the Net Air Yeezy’s and was just seen in an early pair of the eagerly anticipated Wolf Grey Air Jordan V’s during a recent photo shoot. Check out some pics after the jump, and next time you see Darrelle and John out and about, you might wanna take notice of their footwear.

The HUF Hupper hightop turned out to be the only high profile sneaker released last Wednesday, but that won’t be the only all-over printed release thanks to these new drops. Sneaker News first showed you images of the HUF Monogram Pack last October before anyone even knew the lowtop model’s name. But by this point the Southern has become a staple release for the California-based brand and their red suede/canvas build is shared by a black Hupper, both covered in white Hs. Click through to see more images of both models and check for them at select high end skate shops like Primitive.

Last season, Gilbert Arenas made all the improper headlines in the NBA newswire and on Sneaker News. After a locker-room incident that led to a suspension for the remainder of the year, adidas Basketball terminated his contract, leaving the man free to roam about with whatever sneakers he wanted to wear. It wouldn’t be until the following season that we’d see Gilbert Arenas back on an NBA court, and his return was a relentless outpouring of sneakers from his personal collection that caught the attention of sneakerheads nationwide. Sneaker News began documenting his nightly wears, which included a grab-bag of Air Jordans and Nike Basketball Retros, as well as shoes that had no purpose on an NBA court, like the D&G high-tops and Jordan CMFT hybrids. Now that Gilbert and the Orlando Magic are done for the season, Sneaker News has compiled Gilbert’s Greatest Hits of the 2010-11 NBA Season, so take a look below and make sure you vote for your favorite at the very end!

But it’s never a bad thing to get your kicks fix early and it looks like one of this nation’s retailers will have theirs available a day early. With so much intrigue surrounding Nike SB and special themed and/or collaborative releases, it’s nice to cut through all the extras every once in a while and go straight to the heart of the game. The Nike Dunk Low CL is one of Nike Sportswear’s most fundamental offerings and these perfectly executed new colorways will ensure that even a general release like this can push toward sellout numbers. Both pairs go for the tonal mix of leather and woven textile that we’ve seen on several Air Force 1s recently, a black pair opting for Bright Mandarin on its outsole while the white pair goes with Brown Kelp. Toss in a little gingham check on the sockliner and these are perfect for keeping your everyday shoe game on point this summer, and they should be available at US NSW accounts soon. via Kix-Files

When LeBron James made the switch from Cleveland to Miami, it affected his life outside the basketball court – namely his relationship with Nike Basketball. The L23 logo that was prevalent on all his Nike signature shoes and apparel was gone due to the switch to the number ’6′ on his jersey, which in turn meant a new one was on the way. Sneaker News gave you a sneak peek at the new Nike LeBron logo last November, which featured his initials shaped into a crown, playing off his ‘King James’ persona; the new logo is expected to appear on the Nike LeBron 9 as well as Nike LeBron apparel, like this ‘WITNESS’ t-shirt that glows in the dark. Similar t-shirts were given out to the Miami Heat home crowd during the Home games of the First Round Playoff series, so now you can join in as if you were in South Beach by picking up this new Nike LeBron t-shirt from Nikestore.

Last week, one of the top stories on Sneaker News with the upcoming Nike Air Force 1 Low Premium in a Denim and Bronze colorway. If denim isn’t your thing (as voiced by some of our readers), here’s a healthy alternative to that show – the Nike Air Force 1 Low ’07 in an Obsidian/White colorway with the favorable gum outsole. The upper combines flat synthetic leather with canvas on the toe-box and center panels, paired astonishingly well with the white/gum midsole/outsole combination. JD Sports just got these in so take a look below for a closer look and let us know if you might prefer these over the Denims!

The Nike Air Talaria doesn’t exactly have the widespread popularity, but like many other Nike classics from the ’90s, it does indeed have a cult following. One of the more recent and memorable Talaria releases was the 2007 Tier Zero-tagged Talaria Boot, which featured a laser graphic on the upper on a Black/Voltage Yellow-Light Lava colorway. It looks like two more similar version are set to release this summer – one in a surprisingly similar Black/Black-Total Orange-Midnight Fog and a second in Golden Harvest/Golden Harvest-Black-Chlorine. The Talaria Boot flawlessly combines the rugged appeal of the Talaria runner with a unique styling seen on very few other Nike models. Check out both colorways below and expect these to hit late summer as an Asia-exclusive release. via atmos

One version of fragment design’s Nike Sportswear favorite (the Zoom Tennis Classic) dropped back in June of 2008 as part of a ‘Panda Pack’, which features two different white/black based colorways inspired by the cuddly animal associated with Japan. However, the released version did not feature the panda graphic on the heel-tab, but we did show you a different sample version of these, but with a black midsole. While this Panda sample and the released version are almost the same, the playful graphic on the heel-tab just adds another level of fun to these otherwise simple yet supremely designed sneakers. Check out the images of the unreleased version below and pick up this rare sample pair from mental_therapy on eBay.

Sneaker News brought you the Michael Jordan Through The Years feature as a way of placing a spotlight on each and every Air Jordan model, detailing the marquee highlights that magically occured during the lifespan of each particular shoe. There have been a number of memorable moments in Michael’s career that we can associate with one of his signature shoes (some of which we detailed last week), but in this latest installment of Michael Jordan Through The Years, the focus is now placed above his feet and onto the man responsible for orchestrating the greatest basketball dynasty of our generation and an equally ground-breaking signature line of performance basketball shoes. While his peers were quick to raise him up like a god-like being, Michael was always first to humanize himself, speaking of his failures and personal struggles that have consequently played major roles in shaping him into the legend he is today. As an appropriate ending to the Michael Jordan Through The Years feature, take a look at this gallery of images of Michael captured in some rare and special moments throughout his career, both on and off the court. The Sneaker News staff hopes you enjoyed the ride, and we look forward to a future of new Michael Jordan moments still to come through his Jordan Brand sneaker line and post-basketball endeavors.
