The Japanese manga ‘Slam Dunk‘, penned by Takehiko Inoue, is one of the most popular comics of all time, and it certainly is relevant to the sneaker game because the Team Shokoku players have been rocking Air Jordans and Nike Basketball kicks for the entire series. Back in 2009, Sneaker News showed you a the Slam Dunk x Nike Hyperize, which featured Inoue’s Slam Dunk-specific graphic print, and more recently, the Nike Zoom Brave IV (a popular model in Japan) as well as two Nike Dri-Fit tees are front and center for this latest collaboration, which is currently set for a release on May 14th at select Asian retailers. via espionage.

The Nike Lunarspider has weaved a unique web of sick colorways that have lured us in…and now we’re stuck. The UNDERCOVER ‘Gyakusou’ collaboration, the fierce zebra-print colorway, and even the simple GRs have given Nike Lunar fans something more to be excited about, and the upcoming Camouflage Pack make the Lunarspider a little more ‘sexier’. The two colorways of White/Metallic Silver (blocked in reverse fashion) accentuates the sleek, slimmed-down nature of the Lunarspider while the grey-toned camouflage adds a level of rugged styling to the luxurious colorway. Camouflage print has been one of the common themes of the Nike AFE Collection, which this shoe appears to be a part of. These are set to drop tomorrow at select retailers like Sneakernstuff, so continue reading for a new detailed gallery and let us know what you think.

Most of Penny Hardaway’s best loved hits are allusions to his briefly brilliant NBA career. Orlando Magic colorways got the ball rolling and we’ve seen a few Phoenix Suns, New York Knicks and Miami Heat-inspired pairs garner some attention, and we’ve even seen the Half Cent hybrid offer a glimpse into the hypothetical question if he was ever a San Antonio Spur. And that’s sorta where this latest Nike Air Max Penny 1 comes in, its Wolf Grey and white colorway similarly neutral to the SATX colors and giving you equal opportunity to employ your imagination. Click through to see more of this new Air Penny Max 1 that just hit NikeStore and check for them at your local Nike Sportswear retailers like NYC’s West or on eBay.

On the inne face of the tongue label is a unique Clay x Grass logo, with additional markings seen on the medial heel of the shoe. Both are set to release on May 14th so take a look below and let us know what you think. via NikeStadium

The Air Jordan V has seen a ton of attention in 2011 thus far, with great releases like the Air Jordan V Premio, Tokyo23 Edition, and upcoming new colorways like the Wolf Grey and White/Midnight Navy. Also arriving during the Fall season is the original colorway of the Air Jordan V in Black and Metallic Silver, a shoe that released just four years ago. A few discrepancies from the previous version and this new arrival like in the upper material, which appears to be a softer nubuck like the one used on the Air Jordan VI Black/Varsity Red of January, 2010, and the red Jumpman logo on the outsole (the OG is black). These are expected to be widely popular regardless of its new form, so check out the new gallery of images below and if you’d like to grab a pair early, expect these to hit soon from air-randy on eBay.

Five Nike Air Maxim 1+ pairs achieved a tonal look by applying a single shade to the various materials on their Air Attack Pack uppers early last year and this new release serves as something of a reprisal of those simply satisfying designs. But the tonal effect on this latest duo of Air Maxim 1s is stronger, particularly the blue edition where suede framing Flywire makes for the perfect anachronistic meta-statement about this hybrid model. Click through to get better views of both pairs and stick with Sneaker News for word on the US release; Nike Harajuku in Tokyo just got theirs.

The month of April was quite an eventful one for Nike SB, starting with the cancellation of the Cheech & Chong release, the release delay/confusion with the White/Black Zoom Janoski Mid, and the debate and discussion surrounding the Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Space Jam’. Let’s leave all that controversy behind us and look at the May 2011 releases from Nike SB: a new colorway of the Janoski Mid in Cappuccino/Black and a P-Rod 2.5 inspired by the Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Cali’. Not included in this grouping is in fact the Space Jam SB Dunk Low and the Aqua/Skeletor SB Dunk Low, but you can expect those next month as well. Check out the May 2011 roll-out below and stick with Sneaker News for more Nike SB release information as it develops.
